Might have to buy another Journeyman as a back up to my current one. Just in case my present one goes tits-up from all the abuse.

Very helpful. Thanks! Somewhat concerning for future values on Gypsy jack. It rocks as a knife but wonder whether will crash because no one knows them or rise once not available

Surprised to see the mini A-100 on the list. Its my EDC, and a great tool and have been wanting to get the GF on for her purse as she has all but already told me, "get me one, or yours will be mine" Big Grin

Serrated mini A-100's are still for sale. There could come some available at USN/Cove, and there is a rumor (hint) that some retired knives may have run(s) left on the calendar if you join the waitlist - but no word as to which.

Bummer, I have been on the wait list for one of the traveler models since I first saw them listed. Likely never made it to production? Maybe due to the cooperative arrangements with Kershaw...

My first choice would be a Super Desert Roadhouse...But those are out.

My next would be a Black serrated SOCFK...which they still have.

Yeah, I can't imagine them completely ceasing production on some of these knives, like the Mini A100. I'm sure we'll see some limited runs later on.

The new Kershaw line may take the place of some of their lower end knives.

Below has been posted by Mr. E. for OBS members.

Dear Members,

I wanted to update you on the latest additions that will be forthcoming to the Order of The Black Shamrock. We will be adding Physical Qualification Standards to obtain one of 3 levels of prowess certifications. We will also be adding a certification in Marksmanship and firearms skills, in addition to our existing Master at Arms Certification. We are also going to be providing a basic Combat Fighting Course that will be available to the Brotherhood to provide a fundamental skill set that all members should have knowledge of. It has taken a lot of research, (almost 1 ½ years) and effort to put all of these programs together and to test their viability and effectiveness. I hope that you take advantage of these opportunities. I will be discussing all of these additions and more at our annual meeting at the Gathering in Las Vegas, on Labor Day weekend.

My Best Regards,

Ernest Emerson

___
Also, more of his training DVDs and the combat medicine DVD have been restocked for sale on the EKI site for the 1st time in a long time.

Cheers,
Chuck Wink

I am not aware of controversies surrounding the Irish series. He produced these as a limited run. This St. Patrick's day there were about 5 made of each type, though I think there were a few more Commanders made than that. I was exceptionally lucky in the timing that I checked the sales to be able to get the ones that I did. They were limited to one knife per customer in each style.

This Link was the announcement that they were coming. It came out less than 2 weeks before they went on sale.

I don't know the Irish connection with Mr. E, as "Emerson" is an English name. It may be other lineages of his ancestry or his wife Mary. He's expressed regard for the Scots-Irish that helped forge this country a number of times in the past.

I don't know if that helps?

Went to the kershsw site tonight and looked at the collaboration models

I think I may like the CQC-1 (final determination after I see one). Seems like a smaller GJ tweaked a bit

What's your thoughts on them all?
