Reading the Hornady letter for the first time, I guarantee an HR employee wrote it. Only they could be that stupid and unfortunately senior leadership (in many businesses) is often too weak or ignorant in challenging employee communications generated by HR.

Fuck Hornady, there are other ammo manufacturers I can provide revenue to.

Yeah, to hell with Hornady. I've got a few boxes of .17 HMR downstairs and when that is gone I'm done with them. Hell, CCI is better stuff anyways.

While we agree in principle, management should never sign off on such a communication, nor be vindictive when news of such gets out. Those actions make Hornady a weak and ignorant business manager in my professional opinion.

Giessele probably won’t be hurt too much by us common folk not buying their $200+ triggers, after all, how many can you buy, and they don’t wear out that fast.

Hornady on the other hand, I hope Steve makes a lot of money from those federal contracts, because ammo and components get consumed quickly. I don’t know about anyone else, but I can get comparable products from a lot of other companies.

I am not aware of too many small manufacturers that are making any $ off military contracts unless your replacing small parts on aged products. (like FN) The retail/commercial sector seems to be where the margin/ebit is.

All of this is pretty surprising. Every year during my annual trek to W. Nebraska for deer season, we always stopped by the Hornady factory. A very nice customer area where you can look at all the trophy's the family has gotten from around the world. Very friendly and, I thought, family oriented business. But like with anything, apparently family only goes so far.

If those workers coordinated a walkout, it's not like there's a line of 100s (skilled at what they do) standing around waiting for a job. At the same time, there's not a lot of other businesses for the unwashed to go to in order to find work.

It's a fine balance out there...

I replaced most of my ACT/QMS triggers with SSAs, so I have a surplus of ALG triggers. I won't be boycotting Geissele; I simply don't need anything else from them.

I have a couple of their handguards, too.

A few years back, Bill Geissele posted a long video, going over all the triggers in his lineup at that time. Watching the video, you can get a feel for his engineer's soul. Knowing what I do about the man, I can't imagine him behaving like Hornady and trying to ferret out and purge the heretics.

Regarding Hornady, I am simply waiting to hear the next stupid thing he says or does, because he has proven himself to be a genuine boob.
