So what can you do to avoid this? Shut down the company, lay off people so they're under 100?

As I understand it, the OSHA regulation allows for weekly testing. So no one has to get the vaccine if they don't want it in this instance.

The question that I have is: Since this testing is a requirement of employment, will the employer be providing the testing and will it occur during work hours?

Lawyer up and challenge this BS edict from OSHA. I'm sure Hornaday has some legal counsel.

Yes this is real.

I am with a company over 100 employees.

Looks like Religious Exemption is not going to be approved. I provided additional documentation based on my religious beliefs and now waiting for a response.

I don’t anticipate that my company will recognize my religious beliefs, which are solid and yes true and sincere.

Expect to be unemployed by end of month.

Sad to see Hornady was the first in our industry to sprint to the front of the line and bend the knee.....

Who's next? I think we are about to find out if there is any real sense of solidarity and conviction within the shooting sports industry.

COVID Authoritarians Are The Cause Of America's Problems, Not The Unvaccinated

It’s an odd dynamic – One would think that if the covid vaccines were a generally benevolent program that actually “followed the science” then there would be no need to pile drive the public with an endless barrage of vax propaganda.

After all, if science and morality are on the side of the covid cult then the rest would naturally take care of itself and the overwhelming majority of Americans would have already voluntarily taken the experimental mRNA cocktail without any threats required.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Last time I checked, there was a PROPOSED mandate, nothing published officially yet. Also, feds don't have the authority. That falls on state and county health jurisdiction. As I recall the Typhoid Mary cases, which set precedent, she was ordered by 5 different counties at different times to stop cooking for people (making ice cream.)

Grant all the employees a religious exemption and make the government prove it doesn’t apply.

Fredward - I believe the GOV is using OSHA to push this mandate through and their findings have been formally submitted to Washington. Not sure what that really means - but it is enough to generate a cowardly response from Hornady.

First of all, let me tell you that I, too, detest this socialistic approach to government and their mandates.

But, put yourself in Steve Hornady's shoes for a few minutes. He runs a company of >100 employees that makes a product in serious shortage right now. Yes, he has attorneys at his beck and call and you might suspect he has discussed options with them prior to this memo.

They have told him he is unlikely to achieve any legal remedy to this mandate in the time allotted for it to happen and that the Biden DOJ will simply come after him in another court immediately for a reversal if they were successful in the first place.

What would you do? You have people you employ that depend upon their income to feed, clothe, and house their families. You need them at work producing a product on which many rely.

You're further told that the Biden administration is largely rejecting religious and medical waivers related to the vaccine.

There is a time to fight big government and a time to keep your powder dry and plan a strategy.

Let's hope that Hornady, who is not an idiot or liberal hack, is planning his next move.
You might want to cut him a little slack.

Yes - this is the whole intent of throwing out the threat of this mandate, to get weak and/or aligned companies to fold so that the majority of people get vaccinated before the mandate is implemented. They know it is unconstitutional but they also know it will take a while to get through the courts.

That is one DISTURBING memo...

In order to meet the 'anticipated' deadline, which 'could' be as early as December 8th, everyone must be vaccinated two weeks BEFORE the deadline!
[TRANSLATION] We need to get out in front of this, even though this mandate doesn't exist yet! Roll Eyes

There is a tremendous amount of misinformation and flat out lies about this mandate. Please listen to the guidance 'we' provide, not the internet, social media or even you co-workers.
TRANSLATION] We know better than you! Roll Eyes

We do not want you or 'us' to be faced with career devastating decisions on the final days 'BEFORE' this mandate is in effect.

Sounds like Hornady is caught between a rock and a hard place....damned if they do, out of business if they don't.

However, I agree with the consensus of the other posts, Hornady should have shown more backbone with this.
