if you are normally delayed, there were times when the delay time was 2-4x's longer, if you have never been delayed, then your wait time would be just however long it takes to process the paperwork the 'backup' basically only affects delayed transactions (more time and less clerks, to research) https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

bolded part, manufacturer, regardless of who it is, has contracted company xyz to supply them with 10 bazillion widgets, demand goes thru the roof, and suddenly they need 100 bazillion widgets, however, the 'Rona may mean that plant is closed, or on restrictions, or the shipper may be, or the etc etc etc https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

My nearest Cabela's today had a good stock of revolvers on hand (including a long wished for S&W 629 Classic with a 5" barrel), but most semi-autos were gone. The Library was much thinner than normal. Handgun ammo; out of luck unless you wanted .25 or .32 ACP FMJ, or 10mm. A wee bit of .41 Magnum. No 9mm, one 20 rd. box of .45 ACP. Rifle ammo was better. Shotgun even more so. Fair bit of .22.

All the local shops have been cleaned out near me for a while.

Spiritually Imperfect |
I stopped by the Charleston, WV Cabela's yesterday afternoon, as work took me right past it. The gun library was blocked off with two large safes, closed. The reloading supplies (specifically powder) was picked clean. Ammo was still on the shelves, but very limited selection to be had. I did not go near the gun counter; too crowded, and I didn't have a *need* for any specific firearm.
