Well kept but depreciated luxury cars are the way to go (unless they're German).

Both bought used and I do most of my own wrenching.

My daily is a 2012 with 59k I’ve had since new. My wife drives a 2016 106k we bought used with 26k on the odometer. We’ve bought a 2019 and 2021 vehicles that our kids drive.

I have no desire to have new cars every few years anymore and don’t like having car payments. My kids vehicles are paid for should get them pretty far along into life.
