I would like to know too, it would be a gain in most polls.

The only 2 credible polls that reported today were Rasmussen and the LA Times/USC poll.

Rasmussen shows Trump at +2 and the USC poll has it as a 44-44 tie.

If the election had been today, Trump would almost surely have won. The media is desperately trying to make the masses think Trump is in trouble. That he's losing.

We're winning.

He was the product of the Democratic machine in KC, but everything I have read suggests he told the KKK to go to hell, mocked them as being Jewish, because only a Jew could sell a $2 nightshirt for $16. Smile

His diary entries I have seen indicate he did tolerate some graft in awarding contracts in order to save money on something else, gave some jobs to some as requested when he might not have otherwise.

I doubt anyone holding office in our history will ever be considered for sainthood, certainly not any Democrats, nor is that required or expected.

My take on Truman is that he was a hard working, serious and decent man, rather than the high society partiers often found in the Senate of the day.

He was the last President not a college graduate, but according to Dean Acheson, he was a very well educated man, which Acheson attributed to his life long vast reading habit.

In Truman's defense, you didn't get anywhere in Kansas city politics or in business unless you were in the kkk.

I often wonder if Truman would have been a republican if it wasnt for order #11. 150 years has passed since order #11 and it still has families around here voting hard core Democrat.

If the RNC hasn't spent a penny on advertising for DT, it would make his win just that much sweeter, and he won't owe those asshats a thing. Imagine the possibilities...

If he were to lose, it would due to having to fight this fight almost single handedly.

I hope a whole pile of spineless twits get their walking paper in the very near future.

We have not answered our landline in months. It rings (usually during dinner). We all stare at eachother until one of us gets up. (Usually daughter or wife since they sit closest.) The end result is always "nobody we know!" Followed by sitting back down at the table. My cell? If youre not in my contact list I dont answer.

So...tell me how these polls are conducted?

I dont know whos gonna win either. If HRC wins, be prepared for a fast trip down the drain. It wont be pretty. However from what is left, something will arise. I might not see it in my lifetime, but it will happen.

Every Truman bio, more than a couple, I have seen says he never joined the KKK. His machine was mostly Irish Catholics, includung the boss, Tom Pendergast. No way those guys would have been cozy with the Klan. His Jewish partner, too.

He attended the Democrat National Convention in 1900 with his father. I'm not familiar with MO political history, but around here, there were no office holders who were not elected on the Democrat ticket, except an odd Congressman or two, until John Tower took LBJ's seat in the Senate in 1961.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

No, they are the only 2 that reported today that are not funded by a source with a tie to one side or the other. Most polls you see are paid for by an entity that very much wants Hillary to win. There are a handful, Rasmussen, Zogby, this new LAT/USC, etc., that are actually polling without intentional bias. They all use weighting but these polls are trying to do it legitimately.

You can be negative if you want. It really doesn't matter. What will happen on 11/8 is almost entirely already scripted.

You are absolutely correct. The only thing any poll tells us is what would happen today. They are but a minor indication of what will happen three weeks from now.

However, what in his demeanor, his message, or his delivery (or anything for that matter) has changed in the past 16 months or will change in the next three weeks to change those numbers?

Look, I fully intend to vote for the guy (and then come home and take a shower) even though it's mostly academic here in MT, but I wouldn't bet a dime on his winning at this point unless something colossal and irrefutable were to happen to the opposition.

Unreal.

You're delusional. Wake up. Those polls don't tell us a goddamned thing. If anything, they are calculated to point us away from the truth.

I guess I've mentioned this only about 75 times in this thread, so I can see how you've missed it.

Kelly is one of the most obnoxious of the "media" and I'm glad to see her fading. Now if they just would ALL fade....

Megan was nearly tearing up and getting an emotional crack in her voice during her sign off this evening. Stuff about thanks for the supportive comments in social media in the midst of the negative stuff. I suppose getting killed in the ratings might be getting to Her Highness.

Of course, I was tuning into Hannity after watching some Star Trek on BBC America. My cable box will not be reporting back to the home planet that is was tuned to Fox in the 9 PM hour.

Yeah, that was probably it. Or maybe it was the fact that her grandmother died last night and she had just previously done a segment on her.

Maybe I should watch more of her show? Nope.

Maybe I should take better care of not tuning in with a minute to go and make assumptions about what I hear? Yup.
