All I can say is that I have learned something in the past two months, and that puts me one up on George Will. Smile

Jorge Ramos of Univision tries to bully Trump with a question without being recognized. Mistake. Watch him escorted out of the press conference by some large men.

George Will must have had a lobotomy or something. He just doesn't seem to have it anymore. I used to enjoy his point of view.....

Of course he's eligible and is without question a US citizen. And I'll tell you this, he's more solidly a US citizen than any damned baby born here by two illegal aliens.

How should I put this?

No matter what happens and who ends up being president, it's fantastically liberating to see the president of Mexico actually respond to the proposition of a wall on our southern border. It's fantastically liberating to hear the frantic desperation of "Mr. Trump, you cannot deport 11 million people!!"

No matter what happens. No matter what happens. They're actually concerned.

It's like being able to breathe again.

Cruz is a citizen because one of his parents (or both?) was a citizen. When he was born, he was a citizen of this country, even if that birth was in Canada.

I am unaware of any serious argument that "natural born citizen" means only people born on U.S. soil.

And if they're such "good" and "family oriented" and "hard working" people . . . why is there such frantic desperation to not have them back?

I agree - very refreshing even hear such a normally taboo political subject spoken out loud.

I watched the video w Trump and Ramos. awesome

Univision and Fusion anchor Jorge Ramos was escorted out of a press conference held by GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump in Dubuque, Iowa on Tuesday.

As Trump took the podium, Ramos stood up and asked Trump a question about immigration, and Trump’s immigration plan. Trump, ignoring Ramos, called on someone else. Ramos continued trying to asking the question, to which Trump responded, “Excuse me, sit down. You weren’t called.” Ramos continued, and Trump repeatedly told him, “Sit down.”

Ramos then protested, “I have the right to ask a question.” Trump answered, “No you don’t. You haven’t been called.” Ramos again said that he has the right to ask a question, to which Trump retorted, “Go back to Univision.”

Ramos continued to press on, at one point stating “You cannot deport 11 million people” as Trump tried to take other questions.

Eventually, a man came over and escorted Ramos out of the event as Ramos continued to try to ask his question and Trump told him to sit down because he hadn’t been called on. As Ramos was being removed from the question he said, “Don’t touch me, sir. You cannot touch me.”

Later, in response to other questions, Trump said he “would love to” have Ramos come back to the presser. He added that Ramos was “out of order” and that he would have taken Ramos’ question if he hadn’t interrupted.

That is how you handle a community agitator posing as a journalist. Don't recognize him, don't give him the microphone, throw the bum out. Don't apologize or act like you've done something wrong.

Love it!!!

A reminder:

Trump is suing Univision for $500M.

"Under the contract, Univision is required to broadcast the pageant live on television in Spanish. While Univision claims its decision came solely in response to comments by Mr. Trump during a June 16 campaign speech announcing his candidacy for President of the United States, the decision was, in reality, a politically motivated attempt to suppress Mr. Trump's freedom of speech under the First Amendment as he begins to campaign for the nation's presidency."

I've noticed that educated people can often disagree without being disagreeable. There may be some forced sincerity in some interactions, but many of the politicians are charming, very social, interesting people with superb manners. In that league, one rarely gets far by being an asshole.

the problem remains, they're merely passive aggressive assholes who, most importantly, aren't really accomplishing much of substance... lots of busy work, back slapping, and the favors dance, but little real work, much less real work of the sort that Americans both want *and* need.

polite and charismatic mean little without results, and most of our government is sorely lacking real results no matter which group occupies which position of power. the so called ruling class, dashing smiles and charisma and all, are more interested in ruling than serving...

...and we need them in service mode, which is surely a rude awakening for most of them...

I think 46and2 has it nailed. I also agree with deepocean's conclusion that couth or not, it's easy to see a leader in this man and that so much of this country has been missing that, craving it. It's not the case with the other contenders so far they seem willing to actually to lead the pack. Trump's running the conversation.

Listening to Trump; his energy and ambitions for the country, really expose Obama for the slacker he is.
His ability to control a question and answer session, stand his ground, speak his mind without varnish.
His manifesto, these things are sucking me in to the Trump camp and I, too, am starting to think he’s our best and only hope for America.
