DONALD J. TRUMP STATEMENT ON POLITICALLY MOTIVATED LETTER

“The names on this letter are the ones the American people should look to for answers on why the world is a mess, and we thank them for coming forward so everyone in the country knows who deserves the blame for making the world such a dangerous place. They are nothing more than the failed Washington elite looking to hold onto their power, and it’s time they are held accountable for their actions.

These insiders – along with Hillary Clinton – are the owners of the disastrous decisions to invade Iraq, allow Americans to die in Benghazi, and they are the ones who allowed the rise of ISIS. Yet despite these failures, they think they are entitled to use their favor trading to land taxpayer-funded government contracts and speaking fees. It’s time we put our foot down and declare that their gravy train is over: no longer will Crooked Hillary Clinton and the other disasters in Washington get rich at our expense.

Instead, I offer a better vision for our country and our foreign policy – one that is not run by a ruling family dynasty. It's an America first vision that stands up to foreign dictators instead of taking money from them, seeks peace over war, rebuilds our military, and makes other countries pay their fair share for their protection. Together, we will break up the rigged system in Washington, make America safe again, and we will Make America Great Again.”

Since the Republican Party has clearly not supported Trump, we do have a three party system right now. The third party is an unknown size of Republicans fully behind Trump.

Those of us who support Trump don't have a formal organization like the Republicans or the Democrats.

Hard to say how this plays out but it does feel like we are in the middle of a big change in American politics. Actually bigger than just politics, American culture and values.

... yes he's right.

The Bush's have a lot to do with all of these "foreign entanglements" the founders warned us against. Jefferson summed up the non-interventionist foreign policy position perfectly in his 1801 inaugural address: "Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations – entangling alliances with none."

How many times have we all heard these wise words without taking them to heart? How many champion Jefferson and the Constitution, but conveniently ignore both when it comes to American foreign policy? Washington similarly urged that the US must "Act for ourselves and not for others," by forming an "American character wholly free of foreign attachments."

Of course, Obama and corrupt Hillary only make things worse through their corrupt cronyism.

But... in order to make a difference Trump has to win. In order to win, he's going to have to get a larger percentage of Republicans to vote for him than the 78% support he currently has.

It's a conundrum. He has to both "stand up to the establishment" and gain the support of those who think he is "unfit for office".

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I knew the Establishment Republicans would not support Trump, & even speak out against him. But to organize & run a 3rd party guy in Utah, just to deny that state to Trump, is outlandish. There's gonna be YUGE fight betwixt the Repubs when this is all over.

As of right now, you are either FOR Trump (& against Hillary) OR you are against Trump, period.

Long overdue. The curtain is being pulled back on the incestuous club of insiders that run the country. Of course, they all want to be #1, but #2 will do as long as you still get to play the game.

When you look at the way some of these pukes have gone in and out of government for decades, it's truly disgusting. Public service, my ass.

I think the RINO losers from the Bush 41 & 43 administrations are just as afraid of Trump as are the Democrats. The notion that a strong America is not a desired thing, a notion that has guided the actions of both parties for decades, isn't going to work with Trump. The American people, including a lot of those who 36 years ago would have been described as "Reagan Democrats", can't wait to vote for Trump.

The establishment "Republicans" are just as scared of Trump as anyone. The last time we saw this scenario was 1980 and that worked out quite well. Stay confident, folks....Trump will win this election rather easily.

I completely agree with your statement in the first paragraph above. With regard to the need to gain the support of those who think he is "unfit for office", I that is probably neither desirable nor even possible.

Many of those G.O.P. officials who lent their names to that declaration are die-hard idealogues who realize that a Trump victory would seriously compromise their stranglehold on the Republican Party and quite possibly, irrevocably change the entire makeup and direction of that party.

That they are willing to make such a public showing of their lack of support for Trump's candidacy with less than three months to go before the election speaks volumes about their character and their true allegiances.

Trumps tactic of shining a bright light on the actions of those who aligned against him as well as the results of those actions while they were in positions of power should expose them for what they are. It should also ensure that those with Republican leanings who feel disenfranchised by the current Republican leadership will redouble their efforts to support him and see that he is elected.

I'll just put the link here to one of the dumbest ideas of this election.

"What if they held an election and nobody voted?"

yeah that would show "them", wouldn't it? Maybe we can get the Dems to buy into this

Wouldn't that be something? I wish Trump hadn't endorsed him & instead supported Nehlen with everything he had. Even if Ryan's small district likes him, the majority of Trump voters don't. Either way, hopefully that spineless sack of shit will not be Speaker again, maybe we can get somebody else in there.

have to admit my consternation over this guy.....when running for VP in 2012 he seemed to have qualities, values and political positions I thought I understood and could support.

That has changed considerably.

The question became whether ~I~ was simply misunderstanding his POS-ness/in denial/too naive, or has he changed when exposed to the glare of Full National Political Stature???

Perhaps my memory is too short, I do not recall anything beneficial he's done as Speaker.

Susan Collins, te reasonably reliable Republican from Maine announced she won't vote for Trump.

Is she switching parties?

Does she realize that when Trump wins, she just slit her own throat?

I really hope that Trump is keeping a list of turncoats and traitors to the party and he goes after them with all the brutality that he can muster - he needs to destroy these creatures once and for all

The crux of the argument of the never trumpeters is to create a scenario where neither Trump or Clinton get the required 270, thereby putting the nomination/election/coronation of the new POTUS into the House so they can put in whomever they wish, eliminating both Hitlary and Trump.

The guy from the article at the Weekly Standard was on O'Reilly last night and clearly wants that to happen.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

There is ZERO chance of that happening. Only two possible outcomes of this election. Trump or Clinton. That's it. I'd vote for Satan before I vote for Clinton.

Collins isn't a surprise at all. She's a RINO, always has been, always will be.
