Cruz needs to go back to Canada. He lost any future votes from me.

Four years ago, the hardline rocket surgeons were telling we yokels that Romney was no good and we needed to hold on 'til 2016, and look what that brilliant strategy produced- Donald Trump.

On his views about nationalism, it's high time we as a nation told the world fix your own problems, and we'll fix ours, but we ain't payng for you to fix yours.

On his stance on that, I heartily agree.

Please use a small box of crayons and explain this to me.

Y's see, the Don ain't part of the Con.

Democrat and Republican politicians are part of the same comedy troupe. Everybody just needs to follow the script and they'll get paid. Trump is messing up the sweetest deal, ever. Professional wrestling is more authentic than Washington politics.

I am extremely disappointed in Ted Cruz, who I initially supported.
Same with G W Bush. And anyone else who fails to stand with those who love this country in these trying times.

These are no ordinary times. It's 1775 - you are either with is or against us, there is no neutral ground. Put self-interest aside for your country for God's sake and stand with those who are trying to save it!

It was taken out of context. The entire NYT article is posted above somewheres'. Some folks are just a little too literal in reading the news.

And this is precisely why everybody from Democrats to Republicans are up in arms. Their little roadside shell game is over. Pockets are gonna get lighter.

Pence and Gingrich were great as expected. I liked and found it quite amusing how Gingrich spun Cruz's call to vote your conscience up and down the ticket and for who would support the Constitution by stating that it is clear Trump is the only candidate that would do that. He beat Cruz at his own game. Big Grin

As for Cruz, his speech would have had more impact had he swallowed his pride and endorsed Trump. I'm confident that he put the final nail in the coffin for ever being President. He may still hold a congressional seat, or state or local office but he'll never be Commander in Chief. He has no one to blame but himself.

Maybe allowing Cruz to speak was a calculation by the Trump campaign that they expected would get them even more support by it going the way it did?

Gingrich had it right that DJT was gracious in inviting his former rivals to speak w/o having an endorsement from any of them. Of course, he got stabbed in the back for doing so but in the long run it doesn't hurt DJT & certainly solidified who's who in the GOP. I think DJT did pick up quite a few former Cruz supporters tonight thanks to TCs' selfish antic. That was a big turnoff for anyone who watched. If he thought he made himself look good, he missed by a country mile.

Agree. If Cruz wasn't a retard he could have negotiated for a seat on the Supreme Court.

Some more of that NYT foreign policy interview:

quote:
Mr. Trump had nothing but praise for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the country’s increasingly authoritarian but democratically elected leader. “I give great credit to him for being able to turn that around,” Mr. Trump said of the coup attempt on Friday night. “Some people say that it was staged, you know that,” he said. “I don’t think so.”

Asked if Mr. Erdogan was exploiting the coup attempt to purge his political enemies, Mr. Trump did not call for the Turkish leader to observe the rule of law, or Western standards of justice. “When the world sees how bad the United States is and we start talking about civil liberties, I don’t think we are a very good messenger,” he said.

Wow. He's straight up channeling Obama here, not just in his bizarre comments about betraying our allies.

No way in hell I'd vote for this anti-American assclown.

here you are, believing an edited story by a liberal rag to such a degree that you will support Klinton.

It's gonna be great when Trump wins. Cruz, Romney, Kristol, & tons of "everyday" RINOs will realize their opinion doesn't really mean shit.

You do know he is not even in Office yet right? Maybe first to deal with some things here at home. He never said he was going to fix the world right?

Every internal problem inside other countries is not ours to fix,

And there is nothing anti American about Trump.
