Ted Cruz is looking like a real dirtbag. His people do the ad with Trumps wife, then he gets all phony "tough guy" when Trump retweets a picture of both of them. I agree with Bigbore, Cruz keeps on doing dirtbag things but has just enough >|< distance to later deny. Cruz is a fake and liar. Acts all Mr High and Mighty but it was his side that brought the wives into it. Fine, bring the wives in. Trump's is obviously amazingly beautiful and she isn't an insider at Goldman Sachs that got her husband a sweetheart campaign loan likes Cruz's wife did. Cruz acts like he's gonna fight for people, but he's a total insider and bought and paid for by the same people that own Clinton.

Did Trump actually make a remark or more about appearance?
Interpret this for me:

If I read this correctly, that's Trump's Twitter account, is it not? If he didn't send this out, who did? It matters not if the meme originated with some anonymous person. Does this or does this not show Trump send this out?

Yes. I did see that one. I do not believe the wives should be brought into the campaign.

Trump's "spill the beans" was about Cruz's wife being unstable due to a run in she had with the police.

Melania looks more stable and put together in that photo. Does she not? Of the two, Melania appears to be more attractive in a model kind of way. But, Trump did not make any remark about beauty in the tweet. I was wondering if he said something else. One picture is worth a thousand words leaves the story left to the one viewing the image. Was that picture about beauty or stability?

As you know from the Cruz thread, I think they both should just stop it.

Trump said he was going to "spill the beans" about Heidi's alleged instability. Then, he said that there was no need as he re-tweeted a contrasting picture saying that he didn't need to "spill the beans" because the picture speaks for itself.

Cruz' supporting PAC dissuaded voters from having Melania as first lady because of pictures she took. Trump contrasted that thought with whether people wanted a potentially unstable first lady.

Again, there is no gain for the two candidates in this matter. The GOPe and Democrats are thrilled.

I think "acting Presidential" is a fairly new concept. Perhaps it came about around the same time that television became commonplace.

If you read your history books, there have been far more non-Presidential Presidents than the Presidential variety so many seem interested in.

Let's not be obtuse please. That meme or whatever is despicable. Regardless of what you think its deep meaning is, it's implication on its face has everything to do with how those two women look.

Just like how that snipe at Carly was really about her persona, right? Roll Eyes

Dont ya think its a little "Righteous" of Cruz to be making a huge deal about the tweet, considering his side started this whole thing? Then he goes on and on about how Trump has a problem with women, repeating lies and making baseless accusations. Cruz is very low class.

No. I think the comment about Carly was about her looks and demeanor. There is something severe about Carly's demeanor and appearance that puts voters off. I saw it happen in California when she ran there. And, I saw it in the primary campaign here. I thoroughly enjoy Carly's laser thought process and I voted for her years ago but I didn't think she had a snowball's chance. She didn't. Carly couldn't get past the severe persona that she emanated, starting with her face when she drills her points home.

Trump does tend to zero in on a quality or perception that is viscerally present in voters. Low-energy Jeb. Sweaty or little Marco or severe Carly were understood by the voters. It was Carly's "severity" by one look that resonated with the voters - voters who just would not warm to her.

Why do you insist on putting a sexist spin to the comments or actions? Aren't you just bringing a prejudgment to bear?

What? No answer? You need not give one I suppose but it should challenge you to a least a bit of reflection . . . but I have no right to demand it of you.

One philosopher said that "convictions are often a greater obstacle to the truth than are lies."

If you have already voted for Cruz in Utah, perhaps, you may wish to consider that you are now defending a vote you have already cast. But, I do not know if that is the case for you. My vote is still before me and many others have their vote ahead of them too.

Cruz has been hurt by his association w the obvious nut case Glenn Beck.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-j...lesbian-porno-model/

The accusation came as part of a lengthy Facebook post Beck wrote last summer criticizing the Trump candidacy. The talk radio host prefaced his comments by stating, “This is not an attack, this is an honest question.”

He then proceeded to list his issues with the New York billionaire, which included a swipe at the candidate’s wife. Beck claimed that in a Trump presidency “the First Lady would be the first to have posed nude in lesbian porno shots.”

Beck was the first, but not the last Cruz surrogate to attack Trump’s wife. This week an online attack ad featured an image of the Slovenian-born fashion model from a GQ magazine photo shoot in 2000 before she was married to Trump. The ad reads: “Meet Melania Trump. Your next First Lady. Or, you could support Ted Cruz on Tuesday.”

Republican strategist Liz Mair, who runs the Super PAC responsible for the ad, claimed it was directed specifically at Mormon women in Utah. After facing blowback on Twitter for “slut-shaming” the GOP frontrunner’s wife, Mair tweeted, “I’m fine w Melania’s prior work. But I’m not a Mormon woman. I also want to defeat her husband.”

So if Cruz is so concerned about wives in the campaign, did he call out Glenn Beck or Liz Mair ?

Of course not. The more I see of Cruz, the more he reminds me of Rubio, character-wise.

Seriously, you're giving Trump way too much credit in this regard. He rarely looks deeper than what is right there on the surface, at least when he's going off the cuff. His knee jerk reaction is to simply react in a very unrefined, shallow manner. When he mocked a cripple, what exactly was the " quality of perception" he was projecting then, huh?

Heidi vs Melania

Wall St banker and CFR girl vs hot eastern European model? I'll vote for Melania. Plus I have a strong bias to European women anyway.

Seriously, I don't care about her modeling career. She is much cleaner than Heidi. Count the delegates. Cruz is done.

Wait wait wait, what? I have no reason whatsoever to have to defend my vote. Not to anyone.

As I've said many many times already, I defend Trump whenever the issue comes up and when it's appropriate. I will also back him if and when he gets the nomination. But I will not sit here and defend him when he does this tasteless nonsense or try to justify it like so many are.

Stop acting like you can see what's going on here on a much deeper level than anyone else.
