Lindsay Graham (we are going to have to win in spite of this clown)

Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,”

“We’re already split,” Graham said. “Here is my concern. We can lose in 2016 and we probably will.

Trump gets wiped out, Ted makes it competitive, I don’t know if he can beat her or not, but at least we got a fighting chance.

Yet Trump is the standard bearer. It’s not about 2016, it’s about losing the heart and soul of the conservative movement.

I’m not going to stand behind a guy that gets David Duke’s support. What is it about Trump’s campaign that David Duke likes?

I don’t think he is a reliable conservative Republican. So it’s no longer about winning the election for me, it’s trying to salvage a party that I love and conservatism as I know it.”

*********************

What an idiotic low blow from Graham. He pushes the absurd KKK charge like he was a Democrat.

If we had Rep leadership w any brains and guts, Graham would get his ass chewed.

You have to be careful chewing out a Senator. You may need his/her vote someday for something you really, really want passed.

That's why Cruz's criticisms of McConnell raised so many eyebrows, not because those weren't accurate, or justified, but because they might come at a heavy price.

I don't know why people get riled up over endorsements. The candidate can't always control, or even influence, who endorses him/her. Yet as soon as an endorsement is made by someone less than savory, doubtlessly unsolicited, the scribblers, talking heads and Twitter savants all go bananas, and the hapless candidate is thereafter judged by the sincerity and speed of his denunciations. Ridiculous!

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Did they ask him what he thinks about the current KKK Grand Dragon who endorses Hillary Clinton?

That's the problem, Lindsay. There is a fundamental difference between actual conservatism and what he thinks it is.

Has never been about winning with the GOP establishment. If it was, they would get behind Trump and throw in all of their assets and support, which is basically the logical smart thing to do.

It is only about hanging on to power and money.

At the beginning of this year's campaign, I had no horse in the fight because by the time the vote rolls around in my state, the nominee is already decided but now that it appears to be Trump/Cruz, I have an interest.

I certainly appreciate that Trump is shaking things ups and it certainly was overdue however, and I say this was all the emphasis I can, when is The Donald going to start acting presidential? He hasn't yet and the more he talks, the more he sounds like a petty teenager with little self control.

In 8 months we'll have the new president picked out and I want someone who acts presidential to hold the office. Presidential means articulate the ideas well, know when to shut up and don't be baited into trivial arguments. Be a leader who isn't in a verbal tussel with a Fox reporter.

I like the changes that Trump brings to the conservation but at times I wonder if he has the temperment for the job. He needs to act like presidential material and he's not.

Flashlightboy,

So.....would your rather have someone who "acts presidential" but still continues the bullshit that has been going on by the GOP for the past 7 years?

Love him or hate him Trump is a no bullshit kind of guy. People bitch aboht political correctness but when someone comes around who is real and says what he feels people get all offended and want more of the same. That shit is not working.

The very reason Trump has come this far is because he's not following the usual script, not in spite of it.

I do wish he'd keep remarks about the appearance of others out of it. Regular members of the forum know my opinion of such things.

Trump does not follow a script. His remarks are almost always extemporaneous. I think people are drawn to this because they have had it with the same old bullshit.

That's not my point and on the Republican side none of the candidates (I don't count Kasich as viable) are Establishment. It's a clean slate in terms of being beholden to anyone like in the past and I expect that career Republican office holders are shitting their pants because they see that the GOP is changing how they do business. I truly believe that if Graham, Bush or Rubio were in the lead, that McConnell would have greenlighted hearings on Garland. The only thing that politicians like and want to be is remain employed and the very thought of getting kicked out of office and losing their power scares the crap out of them. Heard a peep from Tom Daschle lately, as an example?

What I want is to see Trump act like a president. Is that too much to ask of the leader of the greatest nation in the world? Hardly. Pissing matches with Fox are undignified and beneath a president. More pissing matches with Mrs. Cruz? That's what a child does. "Litte Marco" or saying he could shot someone and still win isn't what any president should be saying.

Trump has juevos and we need them but a little temperance, along with determination, would be nice.

Did Trump actually make a remark or more about appearance? I just have not heard any remarks by him about, say, Cruz' wife but I am not a twitter follower. Although I saw that he warned Cruz not to encourage attacking Melania or Trump would "spill the beans" on Cruz' wife.

Is this all just another overblown way to turn something minor into an alleged final straw?

I'm on a website that has no connection in any way shape or form to politics. They just sent me a survey to take about the experience on the site.

What was it you ask?

It was a survey on politics asking general questions on candidates and ending with three questions asking if I would associate with someone who supported or would vote for Trump.

What the hell?

Interpret this for me:

If I read this correctly, that's Trump's Twitter account, is it not? If he didn't send this out, who did? It matters not if the meme originated with some anonymous person. Does this or does this not show Trump send this out?
