Oh stewardess, I speak jive. |
Oh the goal of being inspiring is a great one for Republicans and everyone else to have. That the GOP thinks they've accomplished it in the last few decades is kind of scary and further evidence of their incompetence, though.

Yea. We do not have an inspiring candidate in the mix this time around. Trump is at the gym working over his opponents and the system for us. Cruz is making an appellate argument with some low-brow fact twisting added in. Kasich is playing what he sees as a backroom, stealthy smart-game in hopes of releasing his convention balloon. Hillary is trying to get way left of Obama while unsuccessfully trying out a series of new personality chips. Bernie is sort of inspiring his young voters with promising them something just short of getting laid - but that promise may yet emerge. No one is inspiring the electorate in the way, say, Reagan did. He had style, humor and a gracefulness that fronted his claw and club. _______________________________ NRA Life Member NRA Certified Range Safety Officer

With what Cruz has said and his team...... Cruz can bite me. The final nail was the BS about Trump being responsible for the protesters. Screw Cruz. He will do every dirty trick there is as he has already been doing. Before I would gladly vote Cruz now it's only as a last resort to vote against Democraps. ------------------------------ Knowing is half the battle! Such amazing BS. It's almost seems like a psychosis. He happens to be a running a Presidential campaign if you haven't noticed which means he's probably going to say something about your candidate that you disagree with. After the things Trump has said and done, you have the gall to make those remarks about Cruz? It's quite something how thick those blinders are. "'Lying' Ted Cruz" coming out of Trump's mouth is almost jaw dropping in its duplicity. I back Cruz, but with almost the same enthusiasm I also defend Trump when I'm around others who speak out against him, despite my deep disapproval with some of his crap. I guess I was too naïve to think that ultimately we're all on the same team. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Let me suggest something: Trump supporters have pretty much refrained from dumping on Cruz in the Cruz thread-- at least last time I looked. I don't want to read the whole thing to double check, but-- am I right? My suggestion to the Cruz fans is: Don't come into the Trump thread to repeat Cruz attacks or name call. I think-- I hope-- that when the dust settles we will all support whoever it is that opposes Hillary. If we are really pissed-- and I will be really pissed if it is Kasich-- start a new party. But first: keep Hillary out of the oval office if at all possible. Meanwhile, let's not dump on each other's candidate in these two threads. Just my two cents. ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

You're right, Joe. And as a matter of fact, I forgot I was in the Trump thread. Sometimes I mix the two threads together. For the most part I avoid any type of "Trump bashing" because I know there is a good chance I will have to support him with everything I got. I just let myself get sucked in there. It's not as Us vs Them thing, anyway, Trump supporters vs Cruz supporters. Not to me. I'm not angry with Cruz beyond thinking he's made some poor campaign choices. He has utterly failed to emphasize and sell his greatest strengths, and instead runs to his base at the beginning and the establishment at the end and in a time of desperation. I think the establishment is using him, in a sense. It (his campaign strategy) does him a disservice, IMO, and I don't know whether to blame him or his people, but he is the captain of his ship... Anyway, I don't agree with the name calling between candidates and their supporters.

Hillary is so contrived at this point that she is artificial. She certainly is not inspiring in her different artificial personality forms. My wife was walking by the room the other day and Hillary was cackling through a speech after Arizona; my wife stopped and thought it was the wicked witch who was on TV. She screeched something about "my pretty" and walked on. Today, Hillary has a whole different demeanor because her handlers seemed to convince her that she should model her personality after some monotone. Hillary earlier tried to smile more. Contrived. Hillary tried personality after personality as her handlers tried to find some artifice that would connect her with the voters. Yea. Personality chip best describes her artificial approach. She is not inspiring with her choices. As Hillary admits, she is not a natural campaigner and doesn't connect with voters in that way. _______________________________ NRA Life Member NRA Certified Range Safety Officer

Oh I know how hard it is. I read the Ted thread still but haven't posted there since I found myself doing the same thing as you. :-) Peace man. I have to admit, I completely agree with you. A few months back, I was 100% in favor of Cruz. Now, I find myself changing the channel when he is on. He cannot conduct an interview without attacking Trump. That last comment about the protestors in Chicago put me over the top as well. It's all just getting old I guess. Having said that, he sure ain't my first choice but If he ends up our nominee, I will support him all I can. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

Can you imagine a one-on-one debate between Trump and that disgusting crook, if the FBI recommends charges but Barry's corrupt State Dept refuses to uphold the Constitution? To every question, his response should be to look at her and say "Why is she here? She has disqualified herself from ever being President. Are we, or are we not, a nation of laws? Do we, or do we not, still believe in and uphold the Constitution? So, again, I ask- why is she here?" Every. Single. Question. No matter what the question. This should be his response.

Damn it! This is the wildcard/maverick stuff he does that loses credibility with me. I'm trying, REALLY trying to wrap my arms around Trump and be a full supporter. But when he acts like he's in an 8th grade Twitter war it chips away at the credibility he has earned with me. He didn't post it, but he did re-Tweet it, without comment, which all but shows his support of this stupidity. ___________________________ All it takes...is all you got. ____________________________ For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

Yep. One of the things we hate about Obama is how he is so childish, petulant and petty. But it seems to be one of the things a lot of people like about Trump. Weird.
THat would be a brilliant move. Even if she doesn't get recommended for prosecution, Trump can use the same line and talk about how we all know she broke the law but the FBI was pressured.

Rule #1: Use enough gun |
And that thought is the essence of my beef with Cruz. It seems that virtually every week there is another controversy about the methods/tactics by the Cruz campaign and its supporters. Cruz comes out and claims he didn't know anything about anything, so it's not his fault. The latest incident, with Trump's wife, is just more of the same. Cruz claims he had nothing to do with it, then warns Trump not to bring Cruz's wife into this. Where is Cruz condemning the PAC bringing Trump's wife into the campaign? If Cruz is such a high-character candidate, why does he not publicly rebuke them? It's simple. He doesn't rebuke them because he supports what they are doing. The fact that they are a "third party" gives him the wiggle room to deny having anything to do with it. It's all by design. Watching Cruz speak these days is eerily similar to watching Hillary speak. Denials based on technicalities. It's getting to the point that I may start referring to him as Ted Cruz-Clinton. They are looking more and more like two peas in a pod. When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are undisturbed. Luke 11:21 "Every nation in every region now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." -- George W. Bush

Yeah, I saw that sample of advertising the vote for Cruz PAC used in Utah, basically picturing Mrs. Trump as a slut. Going after his wife. It was unlike anything I have seen in Presidential campaigns. Truly disgusting. If Cruz did not lambast this ad, if he did not condemn it, shame on him.
