Rule #1: Use enough gun |
Sweet! So then, Cruz has 71% of the people who do not support him, according to your numbers. Happy now? When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are undisturbed. For me, you have described why this election is so important. The thing that makes me vote for Trump is that I believe he will dislodge the rotting status quo that has made the people virtually irrelevant. Cruz didn't do it and he hasn't convinced me that he will if elected. Cruz merely stood in the way of the status quo and acted as a speed bump for years. Vote for me, I have a proven record of being run over. Not too inspiring. Cruz now talks incessantly about he's the only one who can beat Trump. I would have rather heard about how Cruz could defeat the status quo in government and how he had some results. Trump is quaking the system which is dangerous but it needs to be done. I believe Trump has the intellectual and personal fortitude to stand up and change the unresponsive machine, not just get run over by it. Trump has taken so much abuse and, yet, he keeps coming. He has the moxie and desire we need. _______________________________ NRA Life Member NRA Certified Range Safety Officer

Get my pies outta the oven! |
The PANIC over Trump is getting more and more palpable with the GOP establishment types. Get a load of this guy! We choose the nominee, not the voters: Senior GOP official "Shut up peons...WE know what's good for you and who WE are going to anoint as the GOP runner!" If they pull some stupid shit, I'm telling you; Trump WILL run third-party and I think we would still win, that's how PISSED people are getting over all this.

Chip away the stone |
I'm sure some are GDCs who are actually for Hillary or Bernie in the general, but some of them, I think, will vote for Trump just because of his celebrity and/or strong-man-who-makes-strong-decisions persona.

Fwiw. According to calculations today, Trump needs 59% of the remaining delegates to clinch the nomination. Cruz needs 80% to clinch it. For Trump it's certainly doable. You know...unless Cruz obtains the vote of the 70% that oppose Trump. Give or take 2%. So I'm not particularly worried about a brokered convention. I just contacted Miss Cleo and she emphatically stated, "Call it now!". Can't get more explicit than that. OTOH, if Cruz is so anti-GOPe, then why the GOPe is seemingly so intent on getting him nominated? His snazzier hairdo? His scripted effort to restrict his body language, acquired through years of debating? Him being the lesser of two evils? Doesn't make sense, so that leads me in a different direction. Cruz is not so anti-GOPe, or the GOPe thinks he can be controlled. YMWV *************************** Knowing more by accident than on purpose.

Possibly this, or they think he will be easier to dismiss than Trump. Trump is the one that has stirred the hornets nest big. And he will not go quietly into the night nor his followers. "Were mad as hell, and were not going to take it anymore."

I don't see Trump going the third-party route. Even though he has some infrastructure in place, creating a third-party takes more. And what's he going to call it, the Trump Party? The Bestest Party? Steak and Party? Then again, I don't think he'll need that route. *************************** Knowing more by accident than on purpose.

So, Para, if we asked you on March 16th, 2015, "Are you a Republican?", what would your answer have been? My answer would have been yes, unequivocally. So, Para, if we asked you today, March 16th, 2016, "Are you a Republican?", what is your answer? My answer is No- unequivocally, I am no longer a Republican.

I don't understand something. This may have already been discussed but haven't read all 300+ pages. I thought GOP compelled Trump to adhere to the party nomination and not go outside as a candidate. Now that he's in the lead, GOP is seeking a third party candidate to support? How can that be? That seems disingenuous to say the least. Also, I understanding that voting is right. But when I'm out in public and overhear conversations (ie - while eating lunch in San Francisco), it's apparent that many people are not diligent when making decisions. They know just enough to be dangerous and will decide upon something (ie - vote for Hillary) without knowing the full implication of that decision. These people shouldn't be allowed to vote. BTW, I try to avoid going to SF. But this last trip was just insane. There was all manner of weirdness on display. Why can't people just look normal, dress normal, not have weird pieces of metal protruding unnaturally from their bodies? The impression I took away is that SF people are just slobs who don't take care of their bodies, wear weird clothes and do stupid shit to their bodies. It's the worst impression I've ever had of SF in my life. SF members who live there excluded. "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." Interesting. The way I figure it today, it's Trump's to lose now. I don't think he will. *************************** Knowing more by accident than on purpose.

I am in the same boat. I get letters and emails nonstop from RNC for donations. For the last 3 months, have been sending them back saying I am no longer Republican. I am now Independent.

Monday’s GOP presidential debate scheduled here in Utah been canceled, FOX 13 News has confirmed. The debate followed Donald Trump’s announcement on “FOX & Friends” that he would not be appearing at the Salt Lake City debate. Instead, he said he would be appearing at a pro-Israel group’s event on Monday night. Trump dropping out led John Kasich to indicate he would not be appearing at Monday’s debate. http://fox13now.com/2016/03/16...k-has-been-canceled/

I don't think the GOPe is seeking a third party. I think they're trying to find a way to pick the Republican they want, primary voters be damned.
