I don't usually listen to Rush, but he made a good point in the two minutes I had him on. This is a lesson for all of the other GOP candidates. You push back and don't worry about the media because the public doesn't always agree with them.

Exactly, can you imagine if someone less full of themselves came forward and just told it like it is, didn't mix words or measure responses to the media? Where is that candidate? ______________________________ “I'd like to know why well-educated idiots keep apologizing for lazy and complaining people who think the world owes them a living.” ― John Wayne

Trump even killed it at his border speech. I agree that he probably won't be POS but he did a good job speaking down at the border. https://www.yahoo.com/politics...at-124861370431.html

This has been the most entertaining and joyful aspect to watch of Trumps run. They way he man handles the media reporters who try to trip him up or get him off his topic. They will soon stop interviewing him and simply do commentary so they can get their negative message out and not get the verbal beat down on live tv from Trump. From what I can tell someone asks him for a interview he does it, apparently without asking first what questions will be asked. Simply walks in unafraid and lets them ask what they want. Could you imagine Hillary going on the Kirby couch on Fox and Friends without any control of what she will be asked? "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

Let's see if the other Republicans are smart enough to pick up on just one Trump "message:" Stop being such pussies with the media. Americans are fed up and disgusted with the media. Remember, the high point of the last debates occurred when Newt Gingrich SLAMMED John King of CNN. Standing O. Poll numbers skyrocketed. Yesterday The Donald told a CNN reporter, "Nobody trusts you." Watch him rip into this MSNBC reporter. (To cheers from the crowd.) http://dailycaller.com/2015/07...order-presser-video/ ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

And if they learn lesson #1, maybe they can advance to lesson #2: People would rather hear a candidate say something "wrong"-- even put his foot in his mouth-- and actually mean it, and not apologize for it-- than hear a polished phony recite everything on the PC list. Trump insulted John McCain and the MSM pronounced Trump dead, finished, kaput. But he is chugging right along and in fact gathering steam. Who is finished, kaput, is that little worm O'Malley who wrung his hands and and said he was terribly sorry for saying that "all lives matter." ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

No one else can do this. I covered it earlier - do you know what they have done to him financially? Who else could just give up a $200 million gig (his reality TV show that was cancelled) or his clothing line that Macy's cancelled or the TV deal for the pageant? Who among 'regular' candidates could afford to have their livelihood taken away and all avenues for re-establishing themselves taken away? Who else could tell the head of the RNC, who controls the campaign finance pursestrings, to take a hike when he's told to tone it down and quit being so controversial? Scott Walker is excellent with the media and staying on point and not allowing them to control an interview. We'll see how he does going forward, but keep an eye on him. And justjoe covered excellent lessons that the eventual nominee could really use, but you see several of the nominees trying to be the anti-Trump already - which is a stupid, stupid move on their parts. Perry can kiss it goodbye, he has less than zero chance now and Grahamnesty, while he never had a chance anyway, really has done himself in trying to take on Trump. ^^^ I agree. Ted Cruz is savvy too. As I posted earlier in this thread, when he was asked about Trump's comments about McCain, he said something like, "You want me to say something nasty about Trump. Well, I'm not playing your game. I know Donald, and I like him. I'm also a good friend of John McCain." ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

That was a great move on Cruz's part and he is the best debater in the race, period. Who could possibly have advised Perry and Graham to go after Trump? That was the worst possible advise, just nuts. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

Trump just turned around and sued Univision for $500 million. Univision will go broke before Trump does. They can't control Trumps avenues of revenue. I agree with you on Walker. He is smartly remaining quiet and governing his state. Waiting for all the Trump stump to taper off rather than get drawn into either fight or side with Trump. But this strategy can only work for so long. Eventually all the candidates are going to have to wade into the waters regardless if the shark is still there or not. It is interesting that after Romney lost, we all lamented the fact that Mitt "didn't go for the jugular". Or that Mitt was "too soft on Obama in some of the debates". Or that Mitt was too timid and polite with the media. Or that it was great that Mitt is an extremely wealthy businessman, but should have emphasized more conservative values. We all wished Mitt was more animated, more exciting. We all wished he would have grown a bigger set. Looks like we have our wish- a New Romney Named Trump. Interesting. I wonder how clear an idea Trump has of who the wrong enemies are. By "wrong enemies", of course, I mean groups that enjoy a lot of sympathy in the GOP. He's a freewheelin' kinda guy, to the point that stumbling into one fight that he really doesn't need could (IMHO) set him back pretty spectacularly.
