Supreme Court DELAYS handover of Trump's tax returns to Congress

“Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts has delayed the handover of Donald Trump's tax returns from the IRS to a Democrat-led Congressional committee.

Trump filed an emergency appeal with the court on Monday, claiming the House Ways and Means Committee were trying to get hold of the records for political purposes.

Roberts has put the case on hold until the nine justices reach a full decision, and has given the committee until November 10 to respond.

Without his intervention, the committee could have gotten the records as early as Thursday. …”

Oh, for fuck's sake. Don't do that. Damn.

Trump mocks DeSantis at Pennsylvania rally: 'Ron DeSanctimonious'

This is the worst thing to do, and at the worst possible time. Donald Trump needs to control himself.

Any doubts about Trump's intentions for 2024 should now disappear. You can see where this is going.

This has been the biggest issue I have with Trump.
I can’t understand why he does this…and doesn’t get that, with a little self control, could garner so much more support.

Take an acting lesson…pretend not to be a dick sometimes.

As much as I liked Trump as prez, crap like this is what makes me hope he does NOT run in 2024! He is just too polarizing, and not always in a good way!

DeSantis has an excellent chance of being our next prez, and being a great one at that! He doesn't need *that* kind of "support" from Trump... Roll Eyes

Yeah, even die-hard supporters like many of us here have to shake our damn heads at stunts like this. Imagine folks who are lukewarm or on the fence.

This makes a bit more sense after watching this clip, but I would still counsel restraint for at least the time being.

But, Donald Trump is Donald Trump and while I won't say he never listens to the advice of others, he's receptive to such only when he solicits opinions. So, even if we had the man's ear, he would stay on his present trajectory.

Ugh. Yeah, if that makes us cringe, and it sure did for me, then it surely isn't swaying any less enthusiastic supporters to his side.

As much as I appreciate the man, he truly is a Greek tragedy.

I love Trump because he was the first person that decided to fight back against the left. Hell, Trump went on offense and I loved it. Attacking a great red state Governor before the midterms? WTF? It's just another self inflicted wound. Biden is too old and I worry that America won't want two senior citizens back to back. I'm all in on DeSantis. Would love to see DeSantis run with Lake in 2024 if she can win the race for Arizona Governor. The left is insane and I will vote for whoever opposes them but, if Trump is going to make the race for conservative leadership in 2024 a circular firing squad he can kiss my ass.

If you watch the video above, Trump's insult makes a bit more sense. The man is rapacious, he goes for the jugular. He's going to be the nominee in '24, so...

Nevertheless, his timing could be better.

This is the reason I think he is going to be unelectable in 2024. He can’t get out of his own way.

DeSantis is a great candidate and infinitely less polarizing.

For all of the good that Donald Trump can do, he runs his mouth off and this just might have been his bridge too far. He has not a single thing to offer to anyone that he’s totally offended.

Even if he were to run his only real VP candidate would be DeSantis. The others mentioned in the video are most definitely not presidential material in their own right.

Donald Trump is the greatest and best president in my lifetime.

And Ron DeSantis, the greatest and best governor of my state in my lifetime. I met and dealt with Bush and Crist was my office roommate when I first began as a prosecutor back in '81. I'll say no more about them now, but ....

DeSantis has very few obvious flaws-OK, he wasn't really a SEAL (and never claimed to be) and he got married at Disney World (I used to visit there, too). And he.......he what? What else is there, really?

Trump also has two.

He simply can't pick his fights. If someone does or says something he takes personally, he HAS to strike back. Can't ignore, can't walk away, can't wait for the opportunity to serve revenge cold.

Well, we knew that, didn't we? And we loved it when it was some Lib who ran their mouth and Trump put a boot in their back end. Yeah! Shoulda kept his/her mouth shut, huh?

And Trump simply can't allow anyone to infringe on anything that is HIS-the presidency, the nomination, the surrounding publicity-anything he regards as his by right.

And he will use his first strike capability (the media is always there and watching and waiting).

And, again, we loved it when he nuked a Lib or a reporter or a competitor of any kind.

And we know, and knew, the he simply can't ignore an insult, can't allow anyone to invade or even think of invading, his space, his place or his position.

I don't know about you, but I can overlook these flaws. I, no doubt, would handle things differently, but we love this guy with a pragma type of love.

So we know he's not perfect (like we are, huh?). But we are gonna support him knowing his winning the Presidency in 2024 is gonna save our country.

There's, to me, a bigger concern on the horizon. I think "they" gotta indict Trump and, if it was me pulling the strings, I'd push New York to do it and then, before that trial indict him federally or maybe just wait.
