The Wyoming Republican Party voted on Saturday to no longer recognize Democrat-allied Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) as a Republican.

“The 31-29 vote Saturday in Buffalo, Wyoming, by the state party central committee followed votes by local GOP officials in about one-third of Wyoming’s 23 counties to no longer recognize Cheney as a Republican,”

SDY, what does that mean to her? How will it affect her?

Mike,

I don't know the answer. In the extreme, they would not let her run in the REP primary for 2022. But I doubt that will actually happen.

The Wyoming primary is on 16 Aug 2022

I would hope it means she does not get state GOP funds for her campaign. What the RNC might do is another matter, but I would have hoped they would have already planned to exclude her. National Republican Senatorial Committee chair is Rick Scott - FLA.

https://hotair.com/jazz-shaw/2...t-harvesting-n442310

A judge in the key battleground state of Wisconsin ruled Thursday that ballot drop boxes and ballot harvesting violate state law and cannot be used in the upcoming midterm elections.

Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Michael Bohren determined “there is no statutory authority” to allow for either practice, which became highly controversial in Wisconsin following the state’s razor-thin outcome in the 2020 presidential election. President Joe Biden defeated former President Donald Trump in the state by approximately 20,000 votes.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission, which is under fire for allegedly bending and even openly violating state law to give Biden an edge, authorized the dramatic increase in the use of ballot drop boxes, but Judge Bohren held that the agency lacked lawful authority to do so.

Maddening that no one will be held accountable and the only consequences for their actions is some finger wagging and telling them they better not do it again.

Can they use the sheriff's office to monitor for extra ballot drop boxes or ballot harvesting?

Do you guys think the social media bans could unintentionally end up helping Trump?

A few media outlets (not right leaning outlets) are beginning to wonder if such a scenario is possible because of his rising approval rating.

Absolutely. Yes. Those who still have FB accounts and are conservative will move in a hot minute to use his social media. I saw a bunch of people create accounts on parler, but that turned into a disappointment.

All that may be, but I cannot abandon FB because the reasons I am there are to connect with distant relatives (who probably won't change) and several special interest Groups that also probably won't change. FB is not a political venue for me--just a way to communicate with distant friends, relatives, and confreres. If they are on FB, I will be, too.

It is not a matter of "none", but rather of "some". I'm sure that some are willing to use other means, and some do. The problem is that there are people and Groups I wish to communicate with who are on FB and probably will not consider moving. As long as there are "any" I will maintain a FB presence.

I first got into computers about 2004 or 5. I have a friend who is very computer knowledgeable I asked him about joining Facebook. This is part of an Email he sent me=

Okay, about Facebook. At top level what they write about it is probably accurate. The reality is that a lot of people really do interact on it. It is an open question (in my mind) whether these are people we care about, but there are indeed numbers. I understand why it would be tempting for an organizer to innocently decided to use it for "what it is good for."

There is utterly no sense that anything anyone ever does ever is private on FB. Period, full stop. The internet is forever, and the data mining someone agrees to under FB's terms of service is pretty aggressive. The company business model is based on knowing how to connect an identity with other people, other activities, other groups and so on. A spoof video about this=

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juQcZO_WnsI

and it is not far off. You and I are both on a variety of lists already, and at some point it is appropriate for us to stand up to be counted. That said, a lot of groups, agencies and companies will make determinations about us that we won't even know about based only on connectivity established via things like Facebook. They make determinations based on the pages you visit, the ads you might click on, the people in your circle of friends. These are data about you that other people use to paint their image of who you are. Almost all of this will be benign. They will be that way until they are not. It is tough to stay disconnected from such things too. It isn't sufficient to just not use the tools or site, rather, we need to not interact with people who in turn talk about us, post photos of us and more. Everyone kind of needs to keep a tight asshole for any kind of privacy.

There are ways to reduce the effects of data mining done by these companies, but it isn't the easiest set of tools to use. It is not so simple as just not using your real name or changing an email address. These companies do a spectacular job of joining the data between multiple accounts. I marvel at it from a technical point of view, but am horrified by its social effects.

I have no one in my life that I would give up so much of my privacy in order to talk too. If the only way I can connect with someone is on Facebook, than I don't need or want to connect with them.

In the third hour of the show, Larry O'Connor and Julie Gunlock talked to legal analyst Joe diGenova about the latest revelations about the Biden family receiving $31 million from Chinese officials, and Virginia Supreme Court taking up the mask debate next week. They also talked to Virginia mom Elicia Brand who is helping the families of sexual assault victims in Northern Virginia schools.

They also chatted about a rumor that former Governor Terry McAuliffe used the pandemic to avoid attending the inauguration.

As a Wisconsin resident, I'd like to ask for everyones help. In the past, Representative Vos has publicly stated that they can't legally decertify the electoral votes given to biden. He is also slowing the investigation of the Racine County Sheriff regarding the illegal voting in nursing homes. Here is the phone number to the state capital 800-362-9472
