From the article : “In a situation like this one, FBI vetting would involve running peoples’ names through databases and watchlists maintained by the bureau to see if anything alarming comes up. That could include involvement in prior investigations or terrorism-related concerns, said David Gomez, a former FBI national security supervisor in Seattle.”

I feel so much better knowing our trustworthy FBI is looking into this. They have done a superb job in Seattle keeping order and going after radicals. There is no way politics could ever corrupt the bureau. No, my faith in them is not shaken, these are our top men and women and they would never let us down.

Whether there is a credible threat or not the optics are such that it allows the MSM to paint Trump supports as radicals and a threat. The vast majority are not. There are bad actors in every movement but the way this is being presented is to me nothing more than a continuation of the media’s 5 year war on Trump and all those who supported him.

If we suddenly can't trust the NG, why can we trust the DC police force, rest of the Fed protective services, and so on? Is the FBI vetting every single security worker?

If not, why not? Feels like security theater, much like a TSA "crackdown" on grandmas in wheelchairs. And invoking the infallible, apolitical FBI as the means to verify does not enhance confidence in this process. Doesn't the DOD have its own ginormous security staff to do exactly this, verify the right folks are playing on our team?

I suggest they demobilize the NG from DC, and staff the barricades with loyal DNC community organizers and BLM/Antifa. Bonus, Antifa already has gas masks and shields.

All Trump supporters, are bad people, meaning that (SF, Trump supporters, Gun owners) cannot be trusted, therefore the threat must be real or they wouldn't bring in the troops.

I think you've nailed it.

Trump supporters are now considered 'radicalized' and a threat to our 'democracy'. Trumpism must be killed...otherwise we simply turn these leftist out in 2 years and the major city voter fraud bulwark can't be employed.

Recall the National Guard and send in Social Workers to deescalate potential threats.

https://www.foxnews.com/politi...auguration-1-18-2021

The U.S. Capitol was put on lockdown on Monday morning due to an "external security threat" as the West Front of the Capitol, where the inauguration is slated to happen Wednesday, was evacuated.

Washington D.C. Fire and EMS confirmed that there was a fire at a homeless camp at the 100 Block of H St SE, which was extinguished. The U.S. Secret Service said in a tweet that there is "no threat to the public"

Anyone who believes that there should be no screening of people armed with firearms at an event like the inauguration is stunningly ignorant. (No, not letting them have loaded weapons isn’t the answer either. If you believe that background screening is inappropriate and unnecessary, what would you think of their all being strip-searched to ensure they don’t have any hidden ammunition?)

And if you are so criminally stupid as to believe that it would be a good idea for some anti-Biden individual to actually kill him or anyone else there, consider what that would mean for not only the Nation, but Trump supporters and gun owners in particular.

I totally agree with your points, I would have thought they would have weeded out the nuts before this. But I am a bit concerned they are broadening the screening for political beliefs.

I read an article on them demoting the current SS white house protective detail so none will be covering Uncle Gropey...so I guess they don't trust anyone

Wash DC going into lockdown

https://www.breitbart.com/poli...ational-mall-closed/

Virginia State Police are reportedly assisting U.S. Secret Service in shutting down bridges in the days ahead of the inauguration. Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) and Democrat lawmakers — including Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA), Gerry Connolly (D-VA), and Jennifer Wexton (D-VA) — made the announcement last week, adding that the inauguration ceremony will “see the strongest Capital-area security response in history.”

Per the agreement, the Virginia State Police will “facilitate the closure of bridges and pedestrian thoroughfares including Theodore Roosevelt Bridge, Arlington Memorial Bridge, Interstate 395 Bridge, and 14th Street Bridge, beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, and ending at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 21”

However, D.C. closures extend far beyond that according to the U.S. Secret Service

Interesting that it's necessary to lock down most all of DC, when they didn't seem to give a rip in 2017 when there were protests and burning stuff at the last inauguration. Roll Eyes

I did that 12 years ago. When the rinos were showing themselves for what they were it made the decision easy. Having McCain and Romney run against Obama was the straw that broke the camels back for me. It'll take a lot of work and soul searching by the party to bring me back.
