"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I'm glad Trump refused to shake her hand, I wouldn't shake that snake's hand either. Why would he shake the hand of the person who has a knife ready in the other hand for his back?

quote:

Then Ms. Pelosi dealt Mr. Trump a slight of her own by omitting the customary laudatory words in her introduction of the president. Normally, she would have said, “I have the high privilege and distinct honor of presenting to you the President of the United States.”

Instead, she said simply, “Members of Congress, the President of the United States.”

Yeah, it was tied to Bernie's and Hillary's campaign there and the absence of transparency or something like that. Evidently they were trying to fix it this time around.

'A new low': House impeachment witness slams Democrats reaction to State of the Union

https://www.washingtonexaminer...o-state-of-the-union

Constitutional scholar and law professor Jonathan Turley admonished House Democrats for their reactions to and behavior during President Trump's State of the Union address.

As the president delivered his annual address Tuesday night, many Democratic lawmakers remained seated and scowled as he touted a strong economy and vowed to win reelection in 2020.

"From the instant I took office, I moved rapidly to revive the U.S. economy — slashing a record number of job-killing regulations, enacting historic and record-setting tax cuts, and fighting for fair and reciprocal trade agreements," Trump said. "If we hadn’t reversed the failed economic policies of the previous administration, the world would not now be witnessing this great economic success."

Cameras in the room caught Democrats looking apathetic. At another point, Democrats began chanting "HR3" as Trump called for a bill to lower prescription drug prices.

"The facial expressions and head shaking is a new low for the House," Turley said. "Moreover, the protests of members was incredibly inappropriate. A president speaks at the SOTU as a guest of both houses."

Trump made no mention of the articles of impeachment he is facing at the hands of House Democrats during the 75-minute-long speech.

Turley, who testified as a GOP witness before the House committee that conducted the impeachment investigation, published a new op-ed on Wednesday, hours before Trump is expected to be acquitted by the Senate, slamming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for ripping up her copy of the address.

"It was the tradition of the House that a speaker must remain in stone-faced neutrality no matter what comes off that podium," he said. "The tradition ended last night with one of the more shameful and inglorious moments of the House in its history."

Last night, I went from having extreme dislike for Democrats, to having pure hatred and distain for them.

They are evil anti American pieces of garbage.

Hell, I always respected people regardless of their political party, unless they gave me reason not to, but for any democrat who doesn’t condemn this behavior, fuck them too.

Their shit is out of control.

Ramius, I’m right there with you. They fully seem to hate this country, everything that makes it great, and are actively seeking to destroy it. Their mask has slipped, and with it gone, their ugliness laid bare for all to see.

Get Ready For Impeachment 2.0: House Dems To Subpoena Bolton After Senate's Refusal

Zero Hedge
Wed, 02/05/2020 - 12:10

Get ready for 'Impeachment 2.0'.

CNN reports that the Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler is planning to subpoena John Bolton to testify in the House, after moderate Senate Republicans refused to join Democrats in demanding that the Senate call Bolton to testify about claims made in an upcoming book. Republicans argued that collecting testimony was the House's job (even though the leaked Bolton manuscript conveniently surfaced shortly after the trial began). And they eventually won the day.

Now, the Democrats are hoping to take a mulligan - just like Biden and Buttigieg now that Bernie Sanders was robbed in Iowa. And instead of limiting the testimony to Ukraine, they're jonesing to let Bolton talk about anything and everything that's weighing on his mind (though he might want to hold off on some spoilers for the sake of book sales).

Impeachment was supposed to be a political shitstorm, a deeply shameful exposition of the president's many iniquities, and the genesis of dozens of campaign ads. Instead, President Trump's acquittal on Wednesday is a virtual certainty, and Trump is walking away from the third impeachment trial in the nation's history more popular than ever. But that's not all: The whole process was a snoozefest. An almost unbearable procession of ridiculous and hysterical soundbites like when Adam Schiff warned that Trump might trade Alaska to the Russians.

Like SNL joked in a surprisingly entertaining sketch, John Bolton is a messy bitch who loves drama, and he and the Dems are not ready to give up on 'the trial you wish had happened' just yet...

...but here's the rub: Like SNL makes clear, it's an impeachment 'fantasy'.
