Romney is beneath contempt. He should cross the aisle today and fall in with the socialists where he belongs.

Name one good GOP politician from Utah. It is the majority of the people in the state that are the problem. Huntsman may become governor again.

Yep. He just gave the dems another campaign add that will be played constantly to show this was a bipartisan impeachment. It will cause more problems for the other candidates running in tough races. Romney hiding behind his religion to justify his vote is pure cowardice.

This wasnt unexpected from Mitt. Its ok fellas, makes no difference at this point. Romney is going to sit there in his Senate seat the next 4+ years watching a better man be President. Thats his punishment, and it will stay with him till his dying day.

Let’s not forget mittens was elected governor of ultra-liberal Taxachusettes. He was NEVER one of us. He was just the lesser of two evils in 2012.

I thought there would be a very slight chance that Mittens would vote against impeachment after last night's SOTU address, with DEMs showing a new whole new low, and Trump (along with Republicans) at his best. But of course, asshole goes to his true nature.

It makes me sick that I gave money to that fucker. Republicans need to punish this asshole for the rest of his term. And Trump will not forget this in his next term.

Well, that means Manchin and Sinema will have cover to vote to convict, which blows the "bipartisan" thing out of the water, not that I really care, but some will make hay of it...

Romney doesn't matter. Trump is still acquitted. Or "forever acquitted" in the locution of Nancy Pelosi.

It would have been great to have no GOP votes in the House or Senate to show what a truly partisan farce this all was, but we were never going to convince the left of that anyways. The right was already convinced. Ultimately, more Democrats will vote against impeachment/conviction than there will be GOP votes for it. I can live with that.

Romney is representing a constituency of a very small number of Never Trumpers who now have no place in the Republican Party and will soon find out that the Left doesn't have much use for them either.

I don't know if Romney thought Trump's conduct was truly impeachable, or if this was some kind of petty vengeance. It doesn't much matter. There are 63MM Americans - probably even more - who will never forget what Romney did today. He sided with Democrats against the GOP knowing that he would give cover to fence-sitting Democrats to also vote to convict and knowing that he was depriving the President of a party-line vote that would make apparent that this was a plainly partisan affair. He did this knowing that his vote wouldn't make a difference in the outcome.

Romney is dead to me - was a long time ago. But what he did today says much more about him than it does about Trump.

with the attempted soft coup over, I hope we can now exact some retribution or outright vengeance against the traitors so this never happens again

they cannot be allowed to sit in the House and Senate after what they've done
