An article from John Solomon’s Just The News looks at polling.
Currently most polls are greatly over sampling democrats.
Factoring in that and the electoral college prediction from Real Clear Politics, and Trump looks very good.
This is all deliberate on the part of left wing media and their pollsters, of course.

Well, longtime members of this forum know my position on political polls.

Everyone is anxious to divine the results of the election, and the primary tool we use (and are encouraged to use) is poll results.

It's folly. Just look at the polls in the months leading up to the 2016 election.

The only thing to do right now is to endure. Don't let the fearmongers get into your head. Don't let anything stand between you and the voting booth. Vote early or vote on election day, but make sure you vote.

And be cool

I often find that if you dig into the poll data and look at the way the questions are asked, how they are phrased and then also look at the sampling most are hooey.

And the biggest red flag is if they don’t supply a link to the actual pole data then you really know it’s a bunch of BS.

Polls... Never been asked to take part in one. Dont know anyone who has. Therefore, my conclusion is that Polls are BS.

YES YES YES!!!! That bears repeating. Get good folks, that truly believe in limited government, and more importantly, limited power for themselves in every level of government. I’d wager that state and local elections can be even more consequential in the long term than just the big ticket federal elections. Getting good folks into office at even the smallest level of government and having them do a good job yields more good folks getting into office at higher and higher levels. Just look at FL as an example of how to turn a purple state solid red.

Have you ever not answered a number you didn't recognize? Never gotten a political text asking for your opinion on a candidate? I'm sure you have. You've just ignored or deleted all of them. Many of these may be those polls you're talking about.

There's all manor of emails and text messages that get sent out asking for your participation.
Some look legit, some look more like typical phishing type. I get a sense that for every 50-100 contacts that are sent, one responds.
Contact lists are valuable; store-membership mailing lists, sweepstakes/contest lists, brand mailing lists..all sell their rolls.

Ditto, it's hard work to comprehend the political stance of a lot of local elections as well. For instance they don't show the affiliations for school board members here, you have to google the person and read several sources to find out if you have a full on left wing transgender supporting lunatic candidate, same for judicial elections.

Some of the local GOP organizations will put out information on Judges, School board, etc, so you have to get the sample ballot, and do some work.

I do that for us, and pass it on to a few local friends so they are up to date.

You also need to read the constitutional amendments that groups put up, most of the time they are worded to mislead you into thinking a no vote is against it but it might not be,

But yes, local elections are important, state elections as well, protect your home turf first, get a strong state government with good local people.

Sociologists talk about something called a "consensus cascade." In any group, if you can convince the members that most others believe a certain way, they will be more likely to believe that way themselves.

When you actually get beyond the midpoint, and members of the group share their commonly held belief, there is a "cascade" of the remaining members to go along. They create a consensus.

A "theater of the absurd" play, The Rhinoceros, illustrates this. Eugene Ionesco creates a small town in which some members begin to turn into rhinoceroses. The other townspeople ridicule and insult them.

But more keep turning into rhinoceroses, until the rhinoceroses are the majority!

At that point, those who have not transformed begin to walk like rhinoceroses, and snort like rhinoceroses, so that they fit in.

The Democrats are creating a candidate who is wildly popular! Rigged polls show it, rigged crowds show it, rigged photographs portray it, rigged speeches convey it.

This is why they have to keep her hidden away. They are creating her. And creating her popularity to generate a consensus cascade.

Look at what they have accomplished. They took a dunce who rose through crooked California politics on her knees. Whom Tulsi Gabbard crushed in a debate. Who was the first drop out of the primaries with less than one percent of the vote.

And now-- here she is! Kamala!

The main issue that she and her staff are working on is how to keep her in a dark hole until they can make her President of the United States of America.

I received a "support me" postcard in the mail from a school board candidate (Carl Tipton). No political affiliation on the card, nor could I find any on The Google. I sent an email to him, asking; his reply was evasive, he refused to give me a straight answer. I later saw his name on a Democratic Primary ballot.

Not just local around here...but mostly. One really has to do some digging to be fully informed regarding folks running for everything from school boards to the state Supreme Court. I have corresponded with my representative multiple times to have legislation enacted requiring party affiliation on any and all campaign information. So far...not much progress.

Heck, even US Representative and Senator election campaigns now leave off party affiliation, although around these parts it is pretty obvious. But, sadly, there are the majority of voters who could not care and vote for whatever name sounds nice or is the first choice on the ballot or is the incumbent. Roll Eyes
