That's bologna. I've read numerous times from numerous infectious disease docs that everytime a virus mutates, it get weaker. I smell nothing but BS and more attempts to terrify the public.

The reports are that the UK strain is more easily transmitted between people, not that it is "stronger" in its effects. This follows that mutations that allow greater transmission are favorably selected.

The problem with viruses like Ebola is that they incapacitate and kill the victim very quickly and it's very obvious they are ill. So Ebola outbreaks burn out fast before spreading. The thing about COVID19 is that it is not particularly deadly for most of the population and can spread even when infected people do not show symptoms.
My point was that a mutated virus might be more easily transmitted (though I doubt it, more likely it just spreads in a different manner), but it would be even less severe than the original unmutated virus. I stand by my original comment that this is just more panic porn to stoke the justification for more government intervention (i.e. totalitarian measures). Two metrics that have pretty much been proven at this point, and that are key to pay attention to are: 1) Almost half of the 'claimed' 320k deaths from Covid are attributable to nursing home and/or assisted living facilities (i.e. old and very sick people). Remove that dataset from the equation and this virus is most assuredly not as it's been and is being represented. 2) The overall US death count from all sources for 2020 appears to be only slightly higher than the average deaths for the last 5 years. Again, not the end of the world apocalyptic event the liars (i.e. experts & politicians) have been claiming it is.

In the UK- Less than 400 people under 60 have died from COVID19. It was at 388 when this was first pointed out.

One thing for sure, the “mutated strain” is a guarantee for six more weeks of political hype and panic.

I replied that I was wearing it to be polite. 4 days later wife received a message that someone at the party had the Covid. My friend and his wife both came down with it. I don't know if anyone else did. I saw him yesterday and asked how it was. Said he couldn't get out of bed for 7 days. I didn't remind him of his mask quip.

Why would you remind him of his mask comment? Remember they are telling you that masks protect the people around the wearer, not the wearer. Not to mention there’s no evidence they slow viral spread at all.

These go to eleven.

And Governor DeSantis and most of us here in Florida will strongly suggest he go 'F' himself and die. If that urine soaked POS wants to really start a national fire storm, going down that path will certainly do it.

For Milano, it has nothing to do with death. Or life. Or even a virus. The mask is the new accessory for “wokeness”.

Despite the fact that the media is desperately trying to scrub all mention from earlier this year by Lord Fauxie and the CDC that masks do not help. Then that masks protect others and not the wearer. And all the other talking points that now have no value to the current propaganda and barrative.

Yes agree on these points.

Largely this virus kills the old and immuno-compromised. The odds of dying if you are under 50 is a fraction of a percent. But fear mongering by the media has convinced otherwise relatively young and healthy people that they have a high likelihood of death if they get infected. Some reports have shown the risk is overestimated by a factor of 50. Every death that breaks the "rule" is trumpeted as "SEE! COVID KILLS YOUNG PEOPLE!" no matter how low the statistics are. Conflating "infections" with "cases" is another scare tactic, and so is reporting total infections (as cases) and total deaths instead of population adjusted numbers.

Trying to explain this to the math challenged gets very tiring, and all you get back is emotion without rational thought. No amount of telling non-vulnerable people that they will most likely have mild symptoms (if any) if they get infected and that the chances of death very low gets them to stop saying stupid things like "unless you've had it you can't say anything about how bad it is". People fretting about kids going back to school cannot get it through their heads that in-school transmission is minimal and there is no evidence of children being carriers that infect teachers and/or parents. Older teachers should sequester just like all older people if they are deeemed to be vulnerable.

From the beginning, we should simply have sequestered the vulnerable and taken practical prevention measures for everyone else - washing hands, distancing, appropriate PPE where warranted, avoiding large groups of people - and not shutting things down. Yes things like concerts and sporting events and bars may still have been restricted, but only if adequate distancing is impossible. But the Emmy winning governor of NY did the exact opposite, sending infected elderly back to nursing homes. I really want to see him sued for wrongful death and dereliction of duty, instead of being treated like he did things right.

The fact that the media and commie politicians said nothing about the massive BLM demonstrations and made excuses for them (they are mostly wearing masks, they are outdoors and outdoor transmission is much lower) and then tried to claim that the increase in cases a few weeks after the protests started had nothing to do with the protests, shows how absurd the entire response has been. Fauci could not even say when asked directly that people should not be engaging in large scale protests. He gave a "that does not compute" look and said he doesn't make policy decisions.

I am waiting for the final death count comparisons, controlling for things like lower traffic deaths due less driving, higher overdoses and suicides, etc. But already I am seeing the media suggest that deaths from seasonal flu are down more than 90% because of all the COVID mitigation efforts, and not because flu deaths are lumped in with COVID to pad the numbers. No, that would never happen....

LA Sheriff Superspreader Task Force detains 900 during NYE party busts

LOS ANGELES - The LA County Sheriff Department’s Superspreader Task Force shut down at least five New Year's Eve parties across the county, resulting in at least 900 people being detained, 90 arrests and/or citations, and the recovery of at least six guns.

FOX 11’s cameras were at three of the parties, including Malibu, downtown LA, and Pomona. The Malibu party was held at a large, upscale home on Moonrise Dr. after it had been promoted on Instagram.

LASD showed up outside the home in the middle of the party, warning the crowd on a loudspeaker that "this is the LA County Sheriff’s Department. This superspreader party is now over. Anybody who refuses to leave will be subject to arrest."

Hundreds of people were ordered to leave the party immediately, those who refused were cited.

There were at least two arrests, and LASD says two guns were recovered.

"We are actively enforcing the superspreaders to protect against COVID," said Captain Holly Francisco. "Once we confirmed there was a party here, we had our super spreader task force respond and detain the occupants."

This sort of behavior is making it harder and harder to support the police. Talk about the 'Brown Shirts'.

Anybody who thinks the police are going to side with the common man is delusional. They are going to side with whoever is signing their paychecks.

And how do they know where these parties are? Los Angeles County covers a large area, with diverse terrain and population density, and there are only so many deputies. It is highly unlikely LASD is conducting patrols to find these parties. It is very likely that they know because people are snitching. This is how the Gestapo was able to be so effective. It wasn't because they were all-knowing and all-seeing, it was because of large numbers of people only too willing to rat out their neighbors and friends.

Here is a story of a similar occurrence in Canada (town of Gatineau, Quebec). https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...inside-home-n2582450 Video (I did not personally watch it) contained therein.

The local news was touting the wonderful news that flue cases were way down and only a few deaths this year in our state. Well duuhhhh.... of course those numbers are down since every little cough or sniffle is classified as covid you morons!!

People aren’t “snitching” or “ratting out” their neighbors....you get a buncha people together and they will be loud just trying to talk....add some music and some alcohol and they get louder...

Someone down the street who has a job and has to go to work tomorrow called the cops to get them to be quiet. It’s that simple. Nothing nefarious.

I'd say that they are using social media to do most of the snooping. "They" aren't necessarily the police either. It could be "friends" that didn't get an invite or some busy body that just hates that others are enjoying themselves or even some moron that truly believes the whole "everyone is gonna die" bullshit.

The article says that the party was advertised on instagram. Not too hard to locate the party.
