Nice conditions but 96% locally wasn't near as dark as I expected. Kinda like putting heavy duty sunglasses on. Rather thought it would get darker (and cooler) outside than it did. Still.... It was interesting to watch. The honey bees and the birds went away and then came back on the other side. It did get quiet. You could see the intensity change, but it never got dark. Not bad for 92%, and we didn't have to drive 500 miles. | |||

It is easy to see how primitive people were scared shitless when an eclipse occurred. Even right now, in my situation, we had 91% coverage and knowing it was going to happen. It clouded over early so I couldn't watch the eclipse, but as it progressed and got darker and darker, and it started to thunder, with bursts of lightening in the clouds, it is certainly enough to put the fear of God in you. _____________________________ "The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living."
