I'm with you, it won't peak here until 2:33 PM, but this is what I'm expecting Big Grin

Stationed myself right out side of Charleston SC. Me and the misses were on the shore, but because of threats of clouds we drove inland an hour or so. Now we are at a rest stop with the masses!

I bet the total was awesome. Maybe I'll catch the next one in 2024.

We are about 40%. Looks like Pac-Man.

Just saw an enormous plane fly over GSP airport. My office is about a mile from the runway as the crow flies.

Nice conditions but 96% locally wasn't near as dark as I expected. Kinda like putting heavy duty sunglasses on. Rather thought it would get darker (and cooler) outside than it did. Still.... Smile

It was interesting to watch. The honey bees and the birds went away and then came back on the other side. It did get quiet. You could see the intensity change, but it never got dark. Not bad for 92%, and we didn't have to drive 500 miles.

Pretty much. Whoopdedoo. Roll Eyes

I will say that the total one we had back in '79 was a bit cooler, but even it was still a whoopdedoo.

Can we all get back to talking about Russia now? Smile

Yeah, it was funny how all the wasps went away. And then my wife got promptly stung as the sun started coming back to full.

Great, now she's all pissed off. Here, have another mimosa. Christ. She's acting like a rattlesnake just bit her. Roll Eyes

Extraordinary.

A lovely reminder of how insignificant so much of life's bullshit truly is. Like gnats on the asses of elephants, single grains of sand in the vast desert. Tiny, unimportant, temporary.

It is easy to see how primitive people were scared shitless when an eclipse occurred. Even right now, in my situation, we had 91% coverage and knowing it was going to happen. It clouded over early so I couldn't watch the eclipse, but as it progressed and got darker and darker, and it started to thunder, with bursts of lightening in the clouds, it is certainly enough to put the fear of God in you.

It's Trumps fault that it wasn't as spectacular as the hype built around it.
