Biden's position on Gaza war is unacceptable. Israel is a moral democracy and one of the few nations in the world that supports America. Biden currying favor with the pro-terrorist Hamas US left is a disgrace. Joe and Hunter have similar morals.

Biden’s Worst Mistake of the Gaza War

He provided Egypt cover as it denied Palestinians their human right to flee the conflict as refugees.

When campus protesters accuse President Biden of facilitating Israel’s destruction of Gaza, he has no good answer. He can quibble, but having abandoned the moral case for the war and condemned Israel for its toll, what can he really say in defense of his policy?

When supporters of Israel accuse Mr. Biden of standing in the way of Hamas’s defeat, he again has no good answer. His goal-line defense of Rafah, Hamas’s southern stronghold where terrorist leaders, four military battalions and many hostages reside, has for months preserved Hamas’s power.

How did the president get here? Mr. Biden isn’t “Genocide Joe” any more than he is “pro-Hamas.” He has been boxed in and brought low by his own mistakes.

I have criticized the president’s treatment of Israel since the early days after Oct. 7, when most Israelis were singing his praises. But Mr. Biden’s greatest error in this war lies elsewhere, in his betrayal of Gazan civilians and cruel disregard for their humanity. This set in motion a cascade of problems that have bedeviled the war ever since.

When you hear that Gazans are “trapped,” you are encountering a Biden policy choice. It didn’t have to be this way. Gaza’s Rafah borders Egypt, a U.S. ally that relies on $1.3 billion in U.S. aid a year. In contravention of international law, Egypt has sealed its border to Gazan refugees next door. Mr. Biden hasn’t lifted a finger to stop it.

On the contrary, the administration embraced Egypt’s position early on and demanded that Israel not “displace” civilians into Egypt. “No forcible displacement” became Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s absurd mantra as Gazans were massing at the border and begging to be allowed out.

Along with the United Nations and the NGO complex, Mr. Biden provided Egypt cover as it denied Gazans their human right to flee war. As the Journal’s editorial board noted, “Only when it can damage Israel does it become the liberal position to close the borders and keep refugees penned in a war zone.”

Egypt’s excuses don’t hold water. Rafah, crammed with civilians, borders Egypt’s empty Sinai Peninsula, a desert of nearly 25,000 square miles. The problem of where civilians can flee is entirely artificial. It has always been possible to fence off a few square miles of Egyptian desert, for a limited time, without unleashing Hamas on faraway Cairo or permanently exiling Palestinians.

Having secured U.S. backing, Egypt even threatened to abrogate its peace treaty with Israel should refugees spill over its border. As one senior Israeli official put it to me, “It isn’t over the killing of Palestinians that Egypt threatened to rip up the peace treaty, but over us asking them to save Palestinian lives.”

The ask was never so great. It could have been for women and children only. Other nations would have paid and aid groups would have outfitted the area. But there is no evidence Mr. Biden even tried, let alone exercised leverage. The war would gone very differently if he had.

When Israel invaded Gaza City in late October, hundreds of thousands of civilians fled south. With a true safe haven available, more would likely have gone, and many of those who did flee would have continued south to Sinai. Instead, these Gazans have been used as Hamas’s human shields in city after city, Khan Younis and now Rafah.

Fewer civilians in the war zone means fewer casualties. Thousands of civilian lives could have been saved, while Hamas fighters could have been eliminated more easily. But like Egypt, the Biden administration seemed to think of ordinary Gazans not as humans to be saved but as bearers of a Palestinian nationalism whose interests had to be preserved and pride salved.

It would have been a defeat for Palestine had Gazans fled the strip, their lives saved. The State Department would have protested. Dearborn, Mich., and the campus left would have been outraged.

Yet they haven’t exactly been appeased by Mr. Biden’s course. Forcing civilians to stay in Gaza has yielded a large casualty count and dragged out the war. Israel has had to delay and slow its operations at every stage, and the large civilian presence has led the Biden administration to pressure Israel into using less firepower and fewer troops. Israel offers daily pauses, neighborhood by neighborhood, fighting the worst kind of urban warfare at great risk to its own forces.

Hamas got what it wanted. The longer the war continued, the more Gazans were killed, the more international pressure mounted on Israel, and the more humanitarian aid became a challenge. Of course it did: All the civilians are still in the war zone, where Hamas can hijack aid trucks and draw Israeli fire. The results have been a resource bonanza for Hamas, suffering for other Gazans, accidental Israeli killings of aid workers, and a breach in U.S.-Israel relations that encouraged Hamas to reject hostage deals and Iran to risk a direct strike on Israel.

US held up ammo shipment to Israel

The Biden administration stopped a shipment of US-made ammunition to Israel last week, Axios' Barak Ravid reported on Sunday citing two Israeli officials.

According to the report, the incident raised serious concerns inside the Israeli government and sent officials scrambling to understand why the shipment was held.

The White House declined to comment.

The Pentagon, the State Department, and the Israeli Prime Minister's Office did not immediately respond to questions.

The Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson (R-LA) commented on the report, criticizing the Biden Administration: "This is wholly unacceptable. Israel, our closest ally in the Middle East, is under attack, but the Biden Administration is yet again caving to the pro-Hamas wing of his party. The administration must end this pause immediately."

House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) commented: "Our great ally Israel is fighting for her existence against barbaric Iranian-backed terrorists and Joe Biden is reportedly stopping shipments of U.S.-made ammunition to Israel.

https://www.foxnews.com/world/...ted-ground-operation

Israel is preparing to launch what is expected to be a massive ground operation inside Rafah, a city in southern Gaza where some 1.5 million Palestinians have taken shelter. The Israeli army has begun ordering tens of thousands of Palestinians living in the city to evacuate.

On Monday, Israel’s Defense Forces ordered an evacuation of Rafah, signaling that a long-promised ground operation could be imminent. The Israeli army has described Rafah as the last significant Hamas stronghold after seven months of war, and its leaders have repeatedly said clearing Rafah is necessary to defeat the Islamic militant group.

Overnight, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin that Israel was left with no choice but to act in Rafah after Hamas terrorists carried out a deadly rocket attack from Rafah earlier in the day that left four Israeli soldiers dead.

A potential ground operation comes as last-ditch efforts by international mediators, including the CIA, to broker a cease-fire have failed to produce a deal.

Biden donors funding groups behind anti-Israel protests on college campuses: report

President Biden’s biggest Democratic donors are also funding some anti-Israel protests that have taken over college campuses, according to a report.

While some anti-Israel student protesters and agitators chant "Genocide Joe" in reference to Biden and his administration’s policies, an analysis by Politico found the donors contributing both to Biden and to some of these protest groups include George Soros, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, David Rockefeller Jr., and Susan and Nick Pritzker, heirs to the Hyatt hotel empire.

Jewish Voice for Peace and IfNotNow are two of the main groups that have organized protests on some college campuses nationwide, including at Columbia University in New York City, according to Politico. The outlet’s analysis found that both groups are supported by the Tides Foundation, which in turn is bolstered with funds from Soros. It also found that the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, which has Rockefeller Jr. on its board, gave $300,000 to the Tides Foundation in 2022.

While Politico reported that the Gates Foundation has also funded the Tides Foundation, the Gates Foundation has disputed this. A spokesperson for the organization said the Gates Foundation does not have active grants to the Tides Foundation, and has never given grants to Jewish Voice for Peace or IfNotNow. The Gates Foundation spokesperson also stated that the foundation is not a donor to President Biden.

This is in addition to National Students for Justice in Palestine, a group affiliated with around 200 independent chapters that has had a vocal presence at Columbia University during its recent demonstrations. NJSP has Westchester Peace Action Committee Foundation (WESPAC) as a fiscal sponsor. Fox News Digital has previously reported that WESPAC, whose funding is largely unknown, has received a six-figure contribution from a nonprofit backed by George Soros.

The protests may muddle Biden’s efforts to rally the support of young voters going into the presidential election.

Biden, who largely remained absent from weighing in on the anti-Israel protests on college campuses, finally addressed the matter on Thursday.

There should be no place on any campus, no place in America for antisemitism or threats of violence against Jewish students," Biden said. "There is no place for hate speech or violence of any kind, whether it’s antisemitism, Islamophobia or discrimination against Arab Americans or Palestinian Americans. It’s simply wrong. There’s no place for racism in America. It’s all wrong. It’s un-American."

Tides and its many affiliates are major Lefty benefactors that provide cover for many family trusts and foundations, arguably one the earliest and largest of the Dark Money groups. They've got their hands, into many Lefty causes to include Palestinian support and just about all gun control legislation & 'studies' that have been put out there, along with election influencing.

truly disgusting

After replacing the elite school’s American flag with a Palestinian one, anti-Israel activists at George Washington University called to “liberate” the world from “colonialism, imperialism, white supremacy, capitalism, and Zionism,” as pro-Palestinian activists on college campuses continue to reveal the true agenda behind the spreading demonstrations.

In a clip from Sunday, an anti-Israel protester at George Washington University’s “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” is seen advocating for a world free from various policies and ideologies, including “colonialism” and “capitalism,” while envisioning an imminent collapse of the current system.

“Each and every one of you believes in a world liberated from colonialism, imperialism, white supremacy, capitalism, and Zionism. We are here to create that world. We look at the world, and we recognize an empire on the verge of implosion,” an activist says to the crowd.

IDF begins striking terror targets in Rafah

IDF says targeted strikes begin as War Cabinet unanimously votes to proceed with Rafah operation, Arabic sources say infantry, tanks crossed border.

https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/389515

The Prime Minister's Office announced this evening (Monday) that the War Cabinet voted to proceed with the military operation in Rafah following Hamas's claim that it had accepted a ceasefire deal.

"The War Cabinet unanimously decided that Israel will continue the operation in Rafah to exert military pressure on Hamas in order to promote the release of our hostages and the other goals of the war," the Prime Minister's Office said.

At the same time, although the Hamas proposal is far from the minimum necessary for Israel, the Israeli government will send a delegation to Cairo to exhaust the possibility of reaching an agreement under conditions acceptable to Israel.

At the same time, the IDF confirmed that the military has begun attacking terrorist targets in Rafah in a "targeted manner." Arab sources reported that IDF tanks and infantry forces have begun crossing the fence in the southern Gaza Strip into the Rafah area

Israeli officials: US knew about changes to ceasefire deal - but didn't brief Israel

'The feeling is that Israel got played' by the US and mediators during the latest round of negotiations, Israeli officials tell journalist Barak Ravid.

https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/389541

Israeli officials have claimed that the Biden administration knew about the changes made to the ceasefire-prisoner swap deal offered by Egypt and Qatar to Hamas, but failed to inform Israel of the changes before Hamas announced that it had "accepted" a ceasefire, journalist Barak Ravid wrote on Axios.

Ravid quoted a senior US official as denying the reports, claiming, "American diplomats have been engaged with Israeli counterparts. There have been no surprises." He also described the process as "extremely difficult."

According to the official, the US believes that Israel has been negotiating in good faith, and that the April offer was "the most forward leaning proposal to date. To secure a ceasefire, Hamas simply needs to release hostages. It's all mapped out."

The Biden administration also sees Hamas' "agreement" to the ceasefire as a counteroffer, not a new proposal, he added.

According to Ravid, "The episode has created deep disappointment and suspicion among senior Israeli officials regarding the US role in the hostage deal talks and could negatively influence the negotiations going forward."

A report corroborated by the New York Times said that CIA director William Burns was a party to the offer proposed by Egypt and Qatar, but not approved by Israel. It was this offer which Hamas eventually accepted.

Axios reported that, "The CIA declined to comment."

Meanwhile, three Israeli officials have confirmed that Hamas' announcement surprised the Israeli government, and that Israel did not receive the text of the response from the mediators until an hour after Hamas issued its official statement.

The officials also told Ravid: "When the Israelis read Hamas' response, they were surprised to see it contained 'many new elements' that were not part of the previous proposal that Israel agreed on and that was presented to Hamas by the US, Egypt and Qatar ten days ago." One of the officials added that "it looked like a whole new proposal."

Two senior Israeli officials confirmed that Egypt gave the Hamas delegation "a new proposal without coordinating with Israel," when the delegation was in Cairo over the weekend.

The US invited Israel to the Cairo talks, but Israel declined to send a delegation - a decision which both Israeli and US officials confirmed as justified due to the fact that Israel had already said its part, and was waiting to hear Hamas' response to the existing proposal. At the same time, one Israeli official said that the decision not to send a delegation cost Israel visibility into the talks.

Two Israeli officials told Ravid that "the feeling is that 'Israel got played' by the US and the mediators who drafted 'a new deal' and weren't transparent about it."

The officials also said that Israel suspects that the Biden administration offered Hamas guarantees that Israel would end the war as part of the hostage deal.

The Israeli officials said that the last changes to Hamas' counteroffer were made Monday morning, and the Biden administration knew about the changes. They also said that the Biden administration believes Hamas' response to be negotiable, though "Israeli leaders have their doubts."

"We think the Americans conveyed the message to Hamas that it will be okay when it comes to ending the war," one senior Israeli official said.

The US official confirmed that the Biden administration aims to create something "more enduring" from the ceasefire-prisoner swap deal, but claimed that the US did not provide Hamas with any guarantees about ending the war.

Biden betrays Israel with Hamas ‘deal’ that wasn’t

By Post Editorial Board
Published May 7, 2024, 9:15 a.m. ET

Joe Biden betrayed Israel last night.

Hamas announced with great fanfare that it had accepted a ceasefire proposal. There were celebrations in Gaza, and the White House said it was “reviewing” the deal.

Except: The Israelis knew nothing about it.

The supposed agreement wasn’t even on the table. Hamas had changed the terms of a previous treaty to one more favorable to the terror group. To take just one horrific alteration: Rather than turn over hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, Hamas would surrender dead bodies of the hostages it had killed.

That Hamas would try to pull this ruse, with the help of negotiators in Egypt and Qatar, is typical. It wants to pretend that Israel was the one “rejecting” a ceasefire it never knew about. Anti-Israel protesters in the US and a compliant media would eat it up, and they did.

But there’s a shameful twist. Axios reports that the US was aware of the Hamas deal but did not brief Israeli officials.

“Two Israeli officials said the feeling is that ‘Israel got played’ by the U.S. and the mediators who drafted ‘a new deal’ and weren’t transparent about it,” the outlet says.

Just as those same officials are willing to give Iran everything and more for the terrible nuclear deal, so Biden would bend over backwards for Hamas if only it will placate the Israel-haters on his left.

But this is beyond the pale. To push through an agreement without Israel’s input? To let Hamas, which attacked Israel, killed, raped and took hostages, dictate the terms? The US is siding with terrorists!

It’s no wonder Israel decided to begin its Rafah operation last night. When its supposed “closest ally” doesn’t have its back, it has no choice. Israel must stop this threat to its existence.

Biden could have been a partner in that. Instead, he went down in ignominy as a traitor to a friend.

I think I read somewhere that there is a prophecy, for those who believe in them, that states in the end Israel will be abandoned by every nation and left to fend for itself. With its back against the wall and doom apparent, the Messiah will come and do what has been promised.

That means even her closest allies will betray her.

I have one question:

Has the Bidet Administration made a similar "effort" to get a ceasefire in the Ukraine/Russia war?

He is holding up shipments to Israel but is shipping money and stuff faster than we can count it to Ukraine.

Huh? He's been dragging his feet and doing the very minimum on aid to Ukraine too. Stalled shipment of old Polish MiGs for a year. Stalled tanks for almost two and in the end delivered meager 31. Didn't do even 1/10th of what he did for Israel on air defence. He still had $4B in Congress-approved PDA funds all along that 6 months long covfefe in the House but hadn't delivere a single bullet until a months ago.And his weasel aka National Security Advisor is constantly making appeasing sounds towards the Northern Hamas. The only difference between Northern and Sourthern Hamas is that the former still thinks it can win while the latter is pretty much out of that dilusion and is in survival mode.

But we are sending cash in bulk loads and there has been no effort on stopping the war, let alone a ceasefire. As for equipment being "delayed", it almost seems like he and they want the war to continue by trickling supplies and resources in. The longer the Ukraine/Russia war goes on, the more money they can move and make disappear. This war is nothing but a money stealing and laundering scheme where people are killed and stuff is destroyed.
