No more beating around the bush, Manchin finally comes out and says he won't vote for the BBB bill.

The tears of rage from the left are going to be sweet today Smile

Manchin says he 'cannot vote' for Build Back Better: 'I've done everything humanly possible

"When you have these things coming at you the way they are right now … I cannot vote to continue with this piece of legislation," he said, stating that if he cannot explain to his constituents why he would vote for a bill, then he cannot vote for it, despite all the work he and other Democrats have put into trying to make it work.

"This is a no," he said. "I have tried everything I know to do."

https://www.foxnews.com/politi...ing-humanly-possible

Chad Pergram via twitter:

1) Manchin: My Democratic colleagues in Washington are determined to dramatically reshape our society in a way that leaves our country even more vulnerable to the threats we face. I cannot take that risk with a staggering debt of more than $29 trillion and inflation taxes

2) Manchin: The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office determined the cost is upwards of $4.5 trillion which is more than double what the bill’s ardent supporters have claimed. They continue to camouflage the real cost of the intent behind this bill.

3) Manchin: I will continue working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address the needs of all Americans and do so in a way that does not risk our nation’s independence, security and way of life.

Manchin is acting more conservative than some republicans. I hope he has a top notch security team, or hires on after this announcement. The loony-leftists are going to be after him for real.

I have been watching many YouTube videos recently and noticed a few days ago that “dislike” numbers are not displayed on any of them regardless of subject. (I almost never watch the politically-oriented ones, and never those supporting the leftists; I waste a lot of time, but I don’t have that much to waste.)

So now that we understand the chain of ownership of the diary. We also know that the diary is real. Why isn't anyone talking about the content?

No it did not. It disabled the ability for people to see how many dislikes a video receives (except for the content creator). There is still a dislike button.

So far it's been a good Sunday. Got the chili in the crockpot at 0700 (it has beans, three kinds, let sleeping dogs lie...) the weather is cold and rainy (if 50 degrees is cold) and Joe Manchin just tossed a grenade into the democratic agenda.

Been having fun perusing twitter and watching the meltdown. Here are a few excerpts:

Bernie on CNN on Manchin: "He's going to have a lot of explaining to do for the people of West Virginia"

No, no he’s not. Pretty sure the people of WV would build him a stature right now.

Sam Stein (lefty blue check, Politico and MSNBC):

"A lot to process on the Manchin news but, from a substantive standpoint, it's just objectively devastating for the planet. The last best chance at climate change legislation is gone"

Devastating to the planet lol. Love these people.

Jennifer Rubin (wackjob lefty bluecheck, WaPo, MSNBC)

"Either the WH wasn't listening/completely misread the situation or Manchin is a horrible liar"

Or, and bear with me, Joe Manchin has been telling the left since mid summer what he was ok with (he even signed a letter with Schumer testifying to that).

Ilhan Omar (American Taliban - MN):

"Let’s be clear: Manchin’s excuse is bullshit. The people of West Virginia would directly benefit from childcare, pre-Medicare expansion, and long term care, just like Minnesotans.

This is exactly what we warned would happen if we separated Build Back Better from infrastructure."

Joe knows that the people of WV would indeed NOT benefit from this bill. Thanks for playing.

Ryan Lizza (lefty blue check, CNN and Politico):

"This is going to get ugly fast. A Democrat familiar with the situation tells me, "Manchin didn't have the courage to call the White House or Democratic leadership himself ahead of time."

Courage to call? He has been telegraphing his stance since the summer. You're just too stupid to see it. Did I mention he signed an agreement with Schumer about where he stood? Oh, I did.

Bernie Sanders (Communist - VT)

"If Sen. Manchin wants to vote against the Build Back Better Act, he should have the opportunity to do so with a floor vote as soon as the Senate returns."

So you think he will be so shamed by voting 'No' in front of his constituents he will change his mind? You ever been to WV? Of course not. Put your Birkenstock's back on and wonder into the woods where you belong.

Sunrise Movement (WAAY left organization):

"One man should not be able to block the will of the people, the President and 49 other Senators.

The Senate is an archaic institution. #AbolishTheSenate"

Apparently, besides being insane, they can't count. "One man" didn't block anything. 51 of them did. Progressive math is horrible. And oh, this sound pretty communist. Kinda felt dirty reading the tweet.

Alex Thompson (lefty blue check, Politico Playbook writer):

"The West Wing saw Manchin's Sunday comments as a shocking about-face “

About face? Where have you been? Good gravy did you read the letter he signed with Schumer? Of course not. Cognitive dissonance is a thing.

Josh Kraushaar (blue check, National Journal):

".@PressSec, out with new statement on Manchin:

"Just as Senator Manchin reversed his position on Build Back Better this morning, we will continue to press him to see if he will reverse his position yet again, to honor his prior commitments and be true to his word."

Reversed??? When was he for it? And the Biden admin is going to 'press him'? With what? "Vote for this bill that will send thousands of West Virginians to the bread lines or else!" Man these people are just BAD at this.

Jennifer Rubin (wackjob lefty bluecheck, WaPo, MSNBC)

"If Manchin is no on both BBB and voting, Biden is done. Democracy is hanging by a thread. Hard to think of anyone more destructive"

'Hanging by a thread'? A senator voting for his constituents is about as democratic as you can get. I do agree with you though that Biden is done. 'Anyone more destructive'? Apparently you have never seen how a liberal DA operates. That's real destruction. But you don't care about that. Communists never do.

Jennifer Rubin (wackjob lefty bluecheck, WaPo, MSNBC) [this wierdo is just the best]

"IF (and big IF) Manchin means what he says, he's sunk the admin. and guaranteed Ds tank in 2022."

One can only hope.

Ayanna Pressley (Terrorist - MA)

“To be clear my lack and deficit of trust was about Senator Manchin. He has continued to move the goal post. He has never negotiated in good faith and he is obstructing the President’s agenda.”

Moved the goal posts??? You don't even know what a goalpost is. That's how communists work. 'Negotiate in good faith' LOL! You didn't even try to negotiate with him. You just demanded he rubber stamp anything you wanted. And please keep your wig on. Watching your bald ass scream about how you hate America gives me the heebie jeebies. And you represent MA too. Not only my birth state, but the state that birthed the American Nation. How far they have fallen...

Burgess Everett (blue check, Politico):

"Damn, Psaki bomb: "Senator Manchin’s comments this morning on FOX are at odds with his discussions this week with the President, with White House staff, and with his own public utterances."

Yea, pretty sure this is a lie. Manchin is a lot of things but a flat out liar isn't one of them. I don't see him saying one thing to the WH and another to Bret Baier. I bet he has been straight with Biden and the left just can't deal so they have to try and save face. Oh by the way, 'his own public utterances' have been pretty clear on where he stood. Man the Crimson Communist is a terrible press secretary. Dad was right. Never trust a Ginger.

Zeke Miller (blue check, White House reporter for AP):

"WASHINGTON (AP) — White House accuses Sen. Joe Manchin of breaking commitments on $2T bill, calls his opposition 'sudden and inexplicable.'

Breaking commitments? Wow these people are ANGRY. Joe should pull out that agreement that him and Schumer signed. Maybe fax it over to Biden (if Joe still remembers how to use a facsimile machine, giving him the benefit of the doubt here. Seems like his speed). 'Sudden' huh? I've known where Manchin has stood since last summer. Communism rots the brain kids. Say no to communism.

And just for some fun Smile

That's what every leftist since the 1970's has said...
I can remember global cooling, before global warming.
When did Al Gore say we only had 7 years to save the planet? Roll Eyes

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I graduated high school in 1992. In my junior year I took an environmental science class. ALL they talked about was the coming ice age. Showed us video's with Leonard Nimoy and snow whipping around. We were fucked apparently (granted this was in Boston, and as a student who walked to school I loved snow days. If the sidewalks were not plowed I didn't have to go. So I was all for it).

It was gospel. We were gonna freeze to death.

From the coming ice age to the coming American Sahara, it's all bullshit.

Science is pretty clear. The Earth has been through many cooling periods. You can see this through geological data.

If I was a betting man, I'd bet we get an ice age before we got a scorching hot desert landscape because Joe Dirt wanted to drive a diesel pickup.

But that's just me.

You know, it occurs to me, these same people who point fingers at others and yell climate change deniers are in fact themselves the people who are denying that the climate changes.

Yes, the climate freaking changes. That's what it does, what it has done, and what it always will do. These people are so monumentally stupid and arrogant--I mean seriously, the fucking ego of these people--that they believe the climate should always be and has always been like that beautiful spring day in Southern California or something when it was 69 degrees, sunny, with a slight breeze, you know, perfect.

Assholes. Yes, these hysterical climate activists are in fact the true climate changer deniers.

I don't understand these comments, are they really that bad at math? 51-49. The Democrats are the minority in the house. It's 50-48-2 plus VP.

Why should the minority get to shove unprecedented spending down the throats of the majority?

JM just saved us from JB's wild reckless spending program.

Jen Psaki statement on Manchin

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...joe-manchin-n2600799

"Senator Manchin’s comments this morning on FOX are at odds with his discussions this week with the President, with White House staff, and with his own public utterances. Weeks ago, Senator Manchin committed to the President, at his home in Wilmington, to support the Build Back Better framework that the President then subsequently announced. Senator Manchin pledged repeatedly to negotiate on finalizing that framework “in good faith,” Psaki said.

"On Tuesday of this week, Senator Manchin came to the White House and submitted—to the President, in person, directly—a written outline for a Build Back Better bill that was the same size and scope as the President’s framework, and covered many of the same priorities. While that framework was missing key priorities, we believed it could lead to a compromise acceptable to all. Senator Manchin promised to continue conversations in the days ahead, and to work with us to reach that common ground," she continued. "If his comments on FOX and written statement indicate an end to that effort, they represent a sudden and inexplicable reversal in his position, and a breach of his commitments to the President and the Senator’s colleagues in the House and Senate."

"Just as Senator Manchin reversed his position on Build Back Better this morning, we will continue to press him to see if he will reverse his position yet again, to honor his prior commitments and be true to his word," she said.

xxxxxxxxxxx

Matt Whitlock:

Psaki is really hoping nobody has actually paid attention to Manchin’s “public utterances” all year about wanting to pause, inflation, bad climate spending, etc.

This falls SQUARELY on the White House ignoring reality and lying to their base about what was possible.
