34 Million Fewer People Watched Biden Speech Compared To Trump's First SOTU

https://www.zerohedge.com/poli...ed-trumps-first-sotu

Ratings show that 11.6 million watched Biden’s speech compared to 45.6 million who watched Trump’s first address to Congress in 2018.

The lowest number of Americans who watched a Trump State of the Union throughout his term in office was 37 million.

Biden barely managed to beat the viewership for this year’s Oscars (9.8 million), even though that set a new record low for the Academy Awards

Quick follow up: Biden's numbers are going to rise slightly as cable news and live streaming ratings are added and will probably finalize around 15-17M, which is still less than half of Trump's worst viewership.

Just bar napkin quick estimate: let's say not even 1 out 3 people in the left dominated metropolitan areas across the country who came out in droves to vote for Biden watched his first SOTU? WHO REALLY VOTED FOR BIDEN?

I refuse to listen to the doddering imposter and don't watch the embarrassment that is our 'media'. If the guy literally shit himself during the speech, they would breathlessly chirp about his perseverance.

I saw all the network slots for 2 hours and I thought he doesn’t have anything worth saying after about 30 seconds.

I didn’t miss much.

I watched the whole speech. It made me sick. If he gets everything he is proposing .... 6 Trillion.

Oh, he also just blew up my retirement and my kids inheritance.

Biden makes Carter look great.

Read this today,

This is what he said, according to a New York Times transcript of the president’s remarks: "The United States accounts, as all of you know, for less than 15 percent of carbon emissions. The rest of the world accounts for 85 percent. That’s why I kept my commitment to rejoin the Paris Accord, because if we do everything perfectly, it’s not going to matter."

Surprised this was in his speech.

It's a stunning admission.

He might as well have said: "We are going to destroy our economy and bankrupt the United States, all for nothing. China and India will keep polluting the planet."

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

He's promised a number of things to a number of factions, but only moved aggressively on some things. That was the early scuttlebutt: lip service for everything but what Uncah Joe really wants is the infrastructure program. If our participation is meaningless, is Uncah Joe saying that this is all virtue signaling to buy the peace, quiet and votes in Congress to concentrate on infrastructure?

FWIW, if you buy the Mother Gaea terminology, there are "carbon savings" to be had in new infrastructure. That's particularly true for digital upgrades that will theoretically reduce the need for physical transportation.

Hunter Biden continues to invest in equity firm linked to China’s central bank

https://nypost.com/2021/04/30/...chinas-central-bank/

First Son Hunter Biden continues to own a large stake in a Chinese private equity firm, in defiance of President Joe Biden’s pledge that his family would divest in foreign business interests.

Hunter’s company, Skaneateles LLC, holds a 10 percent stake in Chinese private equity firm Bohai Harvest RST Equity Investment Fund Management Co., according to business records reviewed by The Daily Caller.

BHR Partners is co-owned by the state-controlled Bank of China, the outlet noted.

In 2019, then-candidate Biden vowed that his family would be free of international financial entanglements; a contrast to the Trump Organization’s global footprint.

“No one in my family will have an office in the White House, will sit in on meetings as if they are a cabinet member, will, in fact, have any business relationship with anyone that relates to a foreign corporation or a foreign country,” Biden said at the time.

Hunter stepped down from BHR’s board in 2019 over increased scrutiny of his father’s bid for the Democratic nomination.

“Under a Biden Administration, Hunter will readily comply with any and all guidelines or standards a President Biden may issue to address purported conflicts of interest, or the appearance of such conflicts, including any restrictions related to overseas business interests,” his lawyer said at the time.

In February, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that Hunter was still an investor in BHR, but was selling his shares.

“He has been working to unwind his investment but I would certainly point you — he’s a private citizen — I would point you to him or his lawyers on the outside on any update,” Psaki said, in response to a question from The Post.

In December, Hunter disclosed the federal government was investigating his overseas business dealings, after The Post reported he helped arrange a 2015 meeting between his then-vice president father and his Ukrainian energy firm executive boss — whom the elder Biden later helped shield from investigation.

https://www.powerlineblog.com/...e-bin-laden-raid.php

On the tenth anniversary of the raid that took out Osama bin Laden, it’s worth remembering that Joe Biden recommended against undertaking the raid. Biden told President Obama, “Mr. President, my suggestion is: Don’t go.”

Somewhere in his many decades in public life Biden must have been right about an important issue of foreign policy/national security. I just can’t think of when that was.

It certainly wasn’t when Biden criticized President Trump for banning travel from China and Europe in response to the surge in coronavirus cases there. Biden himself has now banned most travel from India for the same reason Trump banned travel from China and Europe — to prevent spread of the virus from an area where the pandemic is raging.

Biden had the wrong line. As he almost always has for nearly half a century.

I wonder what, if any, coronavirus, new strains of the same, or other diseases that stem from bad sanitation are coming up from Central America, but nothing is done to stop that. Mad
