Biden answered "no" on the firearms transaction record that asked whether he was an "unlawful user of, or addicted to" a narcotic drug or any other controlled substance. Lying on that federal form can lead to prosecution under several provisions. The United States code makes it a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison to "make any false or fictitious oral or written statement" to obtain firearms.

Believe it or not, 99% of 'erased' serial numbers can be recovered by a halfway competent crime lab.

When the manufacturer stamps them at the factory, it distorts and compresses the metal where the number is stamped. This can be recovered at the lab. Filing or otherwise obscuring the number is only effective on visual inspection.

Gonna have to put a few of the "off the books" guns in the safe deposit box. May need to grab a few more private party guns soon.

Not to drift but how many crimes are solved by tracing serial numbers?

Traces are used to find the trail of how the gun got into the criminals hands...in my career running numbers at traffic stops or during field interviews or when recovered during arrests or foot chases, we found stolen guns and we were able to prove the guns didn’t belong to the criminal at hand, and occasionally enhancing his sentencing at trial for felon with a firearm...

In NC there is no registration, so it was sometimes hard to prove who the gun belonged to if it hadn’t been entered as stolen, we could only trace it to the gun store that sold it, many times as a detective we would get to that guy and he would tell us he sold it to a buddy or someone and he never did any kind of bill of sale or kept records(which he was not required to do) so it ran into a dead end.

I’ve bought and sold guns my whole life looking for the perfect one for me....probably 50 guns and I never did any paperwork or kept track of who I sold to,as I wasn’t in the business of buying and selling for profit.

That’s true when a number is roll stamped into metal. What about polymer guns with the S/N on a little piece of metal embedded in the polymer frame? Just dig out the serial plate and toss it. I don’t see how that is recoverable by any crime lab.

Biden damage running deep

https://www.foxnews.com/politi...-about-race-politics

Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Fla., a Green Beret and Afghan War veteran, warned of dangerous consequences for the U.S. military's effectiveness and abilities if reported anti-White critical race theory curriculum continues to be taught to cadets at West Point Military Academy.

Waltz reacted Thursday on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" after host Tucker Carlson reported under Superintendent Darryl Williams, cadets at the Hudson Valley military institution are mandated to go through controversial trainings, to which the host mentioned a classroom slide labeled "White Power at West Point," -- which reportedly gave one example of such as a comment made by a cadet in opposition to Affirmative Action.

Another example Carlson said Waltz had obtained is evidence of a lecture entitled "Understanding Whiteness and White Rage" -- which the host called "a pure racial attack."

Waltz said he received documents from cadets and their families who are "disturbed" at the radical shift at West Point.

One of the things that has me so disturbed as a member of the armed services committee and a combat veteran is when you come into the United States Army, is from from day one, you are all the same.

"You are told the only skin color you should worry about is camouflage... The enemy’s bullets don’t care about Black, White, or Brown, or political party or race or religion or any of that. And we shouldn’t care about it either as we are teaching the future leaders of the United States Army."

"As a Green Beret, I can’t imagine being in a situation in combat where I am ordering a soldier to charge a machine gun and he now has the seed planted in his mind -- am I sending him him because he is African-American? Should I feel guilty because of White privilege?"

"That is absolutely destructive to morale, to unity, to everything that I know from a military, that by the way integrated way before the rest of the country, in 1948."

Oh? So the Justice Department crafts laws now? Probably smart since that Congress thing set up in the Constitution won't do what it's told.

This is just ATF not liking 80% receivers because it is "too easy" to make a finished gun. I doubt any 80% receiver has ever been used in street crime.

The brace thing has been discussed before. They will devise a rule about what is a brace and what isn't. Length of pull, suitability for one-handed firing, sharing of parts with stocks (like using standard carbine buffer tubes), and whether or not it is a stock that can be used as a brace, or a brace that could be used as a stock. Looks like ATF will have to review and approve brace designs now. They have already specifically allowed the Sig brace and Tailhook, but I don't think things like the SBA3 has ever been decided.

Only in the crazy world of gun control politics could a device intended to make a pistol able to be fired MORE ACCURATEly be considered "making pistols more dangerous". Fine, from now on our "large format" pistols will be fired "from the hip" without proper aiming and we will "spray" bullets instead of hit our intended targets.

Well, it sure would solve the serial killer problem. Big Grin

Well Joe said just this week that no Constitutional Amendment is absolute. Just in the last year they've already seen how easily Americans will give up their Constitutional rights, so we can expect them to start pushing us to the very limits.

Any doubt at all what the conclusion of the 'study' will be?

-SCOTUS is racist
-Only having 9 justices is a sign of systemic racism
-Congress should immediately appoint 5 additional justices

^^^^^^. Naming Gun Control as a ‘Public Health Crisis’ is a way for the libs to circumvent the 2nd Amendment.

I’m going from memory but I believe when they force Barrycare down our throats, there was language like this included.

^^ Yep. That, in turn, built on at least three articles in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) arguing that gun ownership is a public health care crisis. They've been pursuing this avenue of shoveling horseshit since at least the 1980s - with no success other than the OCare initiative yet.

They can take their Public Health Crisis and shove it sideways up their collective asses, along with their attempt to override the 2nd Amendment.

New York Will Offer Illegal Aliens COVID Payments Up To $15,600 Each

New York is reportedly going to spend $2.1 Billion on a fund to give illegal aliens COVID relief payments up to $15,600 per person. Beyond all the initial reactions to illegal aliens gaining seven times as much covid relief as citizen taxpayers, or even getting them at all, one little aspect remains undiscussed.

The only reason New York can afford to do this is because they received a massive amount of bailout support from within the Pelosi-Biden blue state relief effort.

In essence, U.S. taxpayers are subsidizing New York’s ability to pay illegal aliens $15,000 each. Let that sink in…

New York Times – […] after a sweeping move by lawmakers this week, New York will now offer one-time payments of up to $15,600 to undocumented immigrants who lost work during the pandemic. The effort — a $2.1 billion fund in the state budget — is by far the biggest of its kind in the country and a sign of the state’s shift toward policies championed by progressive Democrats.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
