I agree. We don’t have to build it in a month, but it shouldn’t take 10 years either. They’re saying it will be two years before we know what happened. That’s nothing more than waiting for the heat to blow over so the responsible parties can be protected. If that’s what we can expect, then ten years start to finish, while outrageous, wouldn’t surprise me given now the potato administration is involved. Maybe all construction equipment will have to be electric……or some such retardation. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

Certainly seems like it would be easy enough to just ask a few key members of the crew and perhaps the harbor pilot, doesn't it? ...shrugs... __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/

I have no doubt the crew has been threatened by the office to shut the hell up and not talk to anyone, especially the media. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Well that didn't take long... Owner of “Dali” attempts to restrict liability using Titanic-era law The owner of the ship, Grace Ocean Private Ltd, and the manager of the ship, Synergy Marine Group, filed a petition for exoneration from or limitation of liability in US District Court in Baltimore on Monday, according to the Baltimore Banner. The Limitation of Liability Act of 1851 , which was used to help protect the makers of the “Titanic”, allows ship owners to attempt to limit their liability to the value of the ship and its cargo at the end of the trip. Bad enough they're restricted to the ship during this whole event, and even when tied-up, they can't get off. Now they've got all manor of suits and 'serious looking people' crawling all over their ship, along with 'representatives from the home office' coming aboard to 'talk' to them.

I thought what happened was covered fairly well in the first post. Big boat bashed Baltimore bridge buttress breaking bridge to bottom of bay and blocking Brewerton Channel.

Plus, piss poor power production prevented proper propeller propulsion piloting pronto presently prompting police presence preventing people’s public pavement passage.

Looks like they have a temporary channel open already. Probably not as much vertical clearance since it's off to the side, but still better than nothing! You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

Corps of Engineer aims to reopen main shipping channel by the end of May. Regular channel dimensions are 700' width with 50' depth, reopened channel target after removing specific bridge sections 285' with 35' depth.

50” = 50 inches 50’ = 50 feet According to this article: Link, the Army Corp of Engineers plan to have the smaller, 285’x35’ open by the end of April and the full 700’x50’ open by the end of May.

There is an old adage about the Corps of Engineers. They will promise anything, knowing delays will be attributed to unforeseen circumstances, even when the circumstance is foreseen. Opening even a reduced passage in the main channel affects the ability to finish clearing the rest of the wreckage in the main channel. The sonar images show the bridge utterly collapsed in the main channel in water with zero visibility. Good luck removing that debris in a hurry. Container Ship Reportedly "Lost Power" In NYC Harbor, Right Before Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge https://www.zerohedge.com/comm...zzano-narrows-bridge A massive container ship reportedly lost power on the Upper New York Bay - just before the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge connecting the New York City boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn. According to Captain John Konrad, CEO of gCaptain, a New York City tugboat captain informed him that the 354-meter container ship APL QINGDAO "lost power while transiting New York harbor." "They had 3 escort tugs but 3 more were needed to bring her under control. They regained power & were brought to anchor near the verrazano bridge," the tugboat captain told Konrad.
