Yep, they probably tried to work a trade for him and our government said “It’s okay. You can keep him.”

Hopefully a swift kick in the taint and a one-way ticket to Leavenworth or Gitmo…

If I recall this correctly, this was a soldier who had gotten himself in enough trouble to be sent back to the US to face discipline. He disregarded his orders and intentionally crossed the boarder that is heavily defended on both sides by two countries at war that aren't shooting at each other simply because of an armistice agreement.

In essence he defected to a foreign opposing force to escape discipline. I don't see that move as having helped his situation with the US Military.

He needs to go directly from the N. Korean prison to the USA prison and stay there.

Absolutely nothing will happen to him. Time in Military Psych. Hospital and then ole Barry and Susan will have Sleepy Joe issue a pardon. Use it for your anti-military base, get the mileage in the media, make him a victim or martyr and get votes. UMCJ isn't something the Obama administration subscribes to, unless the offender is a conservative.

You do not know that. What have I told you guys- over and over and over and over- about this defeatism? Some of you can't wait to lose. You're in such a hurry for defeats, you declare them before battles are fought.

Those of you who are prone to doing this kind of thing- I want you to stop doing it in this forum.

They will simply debrief him and go from there. There are a lot of options.

There is no way he skates on the original discipline he faced, plus anything they choose to throw on top for his defection. I don't think he will get off as easy as Bergdahl did.

Para, It's not about us losing, it's the track record of what the string pullers have done, they're playbook is to exploit a situation, its a perfect tit for tat response to President Trump's response to the NYS Judge's ruling and Trump's response of how is there fraud, when all of his loans were paid and the value of Mar a Lago was about 30 million under valued compared to similar properties in the area. Not posting as a loss more on the other sides strategy. If you interpreted as losing wasn't what I intended, again it was more of what I think the leftists play would be given what's gone on over the last 48-72 hours.

Biden Admin is Giving a Pass to U.S. Soldier Who Defected to North Korea

"Our focus right now is caring for him and his family."

The Travis King case is already starting to resemble the Bowe Bergdahl case. King appears to have tried to defect to North Korea. The Norks decided that they didn’t want him, but the Biden administration sure does.

And he’s not getting the treatment allotted to a defector, but to some kind of war hero.

“U.S. officials have secured the return of Private Travis King from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said in a statement. “We appreciate the dedication of the interagency team that has worked tirelessly out of concern for Private King’s wellbeing.”

His wellbeing?

A US military official who spoke to DailyMail.com said that questions about a court martial or other sanctions on King for his actions would be deferred for the time being, while he receives any necessary medical or psychological care.

‘Our focus right now is caring for him and his family. And we’ll work through all those administrative status questions following the completion of his reintegration,’ the person said.

‘When he arrives on US soil, he will be evaluated by a very talented, and experienced team who are going to guide him through a reintegration process that will address any medical and emotional concerns and ensure we get him in a good place to reunite with his family,’ the official added.

This is how we handle defections now? Soldiers who refused to get vaccinated were booted out unceremoniously, but defecting to some of our worst enemies merits a “talented and experienced team” guiding him through a “reintegration process” and a “family reunion”?

American and South Korean guards shouted “get him” as they scrambled unsuccessfully to stop U.S. Army soldier Travis King from sprinting into North Korea, a New Zealand woman who was on the same tour to the border area said on Wednesday.

“It all happened pretty quickly,” said Sarah Leslie, who was in the Joint Security Area (JSA) of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) with some 40 other tourists who were walking around and taking photos in the moments before King made a mad dash to nuclear-armed and reclusive North Korea.

But this is an administration of traitors and they know their own kind.

North Korea said Tuesday that Travis King, the private who bolted across the military demarcation line with South Korea in July, had confessed to defecting because of “inhuman” treatment in the U.S. Army.

“During the investigation, Travis King confessed that he had decided to come over to the DPRK as he harbored ill feeling against inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination within the U.S. Army,” the North Korean officials said.

“He also expressed his willingness to seek refugee in the DPRK or a third country, saying that he was disillusioned at the unequal American society. The investigation continues.”

You can see why the Biden administration sympathizes with this.

Hell, yesterday the local CBS Radio affiliate WWJ-AM 950 carried the story and the reporter, maybe Cami McCormick (?) related that King “wandered” across the border! Reporters exact words, not mine.

First thing I thought of after hearing that was Cleavon Little in Blazing Saddles “and now my next impression, Jessie Owens!” line….
