I wonder which of the remaining officers to be tried will be sacrificed so Mosby can save face.... You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

Is the prosecutor going to continue this farce or is she going to drop the charges? Can the judge stop any further trials and how much is this costing the city? What a bunch of BS. Officers lives matter!

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake: Now that the criminal case has come to an end, Lt. Rice will face an administrative review by the Police Department. ************** Judge Williams noted a difference in criminal vs civil negligence; city negotiated on civil side in paying Gray family $6.4M. What a gross waste of taxpayer dollars. ******************** Baltimore police just announced: Effective immediately, officers are required to patrol together as we double up patrol post coverage. Every call for service in the City now requires a two officer response. While we are not doubling up in cars, we are requiring 2 cars to respond to all calls for service.

Rawlings has no plans to drop the remaining three case. The lawyers for the remaining officers should petition the court to quash their indictments, with prejudice. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

This farce is the inevitable result of an ignorant electorate putting incompetents in public office, voting strictly on skin color. Even worse, this is all too commin in cities with large democrat majorities. We need to bring back an IQ test to qualify voters!

Those social warriors wont be cancelling any trials; it's for the people, don't ya' know. This was never about justice, it was about appeasement. I love that they tried to stack the deck against the officers by paying out civilly only to have no influence whatsoever. I wonder how much, if any, of that cash is still around? That which the lawyer didn't siphon up that it... “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

Judge Williams said the prosecutors misapplied the law regarding reckless endangerment. Judge explicitly rejected that Gray was injured on the street prior to the van. Prosecutors and medical experts agreed. law for reckless endangerment has exemption for acts involving motor vehicle Judge made clear that presence of crowd yelling was a factor in considering reasonableness of Rice's actions Judge Williams imposed gag order until ALL officers' trials are concluded. Rice is currently barred from discussing his acquittal. *************** Marilyn Mosby's attempt at rail roading these officers was an important contribution to the Democrat "war on police". The blood of the officers who have been murdered all over our country are on Mosby's hands as well as the professional / political racial hate mongers.

Great news. Suck it, Mosby! Taste the bitter defeat. You own this. "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . just saw this Mosby was not in the court room today for the decision from Judge Williams. http://www.baltimoresun.com/ne...20160718-column.html The woman who on May 1, 2015, loudly and publicly brought charges against the Freddie Gray Six — now the Freddie Gray Three — was not in Williams' courtroom Monday morning for his verdicts in the Rice case. Where was she? Less than a month ago, when Williams read his rulings in the case against Officer Caesar Goodson Jr., the driver of the police van in which Gray sustained his fatal injuries, Mosby sat in the front row of the gallery, directly behind her deputies on the trial team. Her office would not say where she was between 10 and 10:35 a.m., as Williams read his ruling in the Rice case. "For security reasons we do not share the whereabouts of the State's Attorney," was the response I got. Maybe, like just about everyone else in Baltimore, Mosby expected the Rice acquittal and wanted to be spared another humiliating walk out of the courtroom and into the media arena outside the courthouse. and http://www.baltimoresun.com/ne...-20160718-story.html by Charles N. Curlett Jr. The duty of the prosecutor is to seek justice, not merely to convict. The Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct prohibit all lawyers from bringing a frivolous case, which it is when the lawyer is unable "to make a good faith argument on the merits of the action." And prosecutors in particular are required to refrain from prosecuting a charge that the prosecutor knows is not supported by probable cause. This framework prohibits a prosecutor from continuing to pursue a case in which she does not hold a good faith belief that the evidence supports the charges. The ethics extend beyond Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby. The front-line prosecutors must themselves be convinced of the merits before they can ethically proceed. Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams has now rendered three not-guilty verdicts on the same set of facts In each successive trial, the prosecutors must ask themselves, "If we could not prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt before, what makes this case different such that we honestly believe we will be able to do so now?" If they cannot answer that question for the three remaining cases, the only ethical choice is to dismiss them. There certainly does not appear to be any remaining evidence that would create a reasonable expectation in the minds of the prosecutors that they are likely to secure a conviction. If that is so, legal ethics require dismissal of the remaining cases. But if Ms. Mosby persists, and any of her subordinates refuse on principle to violate their professional responsibilities, the spectacle of a mutiny may be the tipping point beyond which this once popular young prosecutor cannot recover. That is, if she isn't already there. Charles N. Curlett, Jr is the current chair of the Criminal Law Section of the Federal Bar Association. This message has been edited. Last edited by: sdy,

It sounds to me as though all her deputy DA's are doing her bidding so that they can keep their cushy jobs. If they had any guts they would resign an work for someone else for the time being. Some may have high mortgages, though, and that complicates matters. Ideally Mosby would be prosecuted, as well as some of her underlings. Disbar Mosby and 1 year suspensions would be justice, and would send a message. -c1steve

Shouldn't that read "For insecurity reasons"? This sorry excuse for a public servant created this travesty but lacks the courage to face the verdict. Why am I not surprised?

After each of the trials where Judge Williams issued a verdict, a transcript has been released that details his thinking. Here is the one for Lt Rice: http://apps.washingtonpost.com...urt-proceeding/2084/ 25 pages long. Each transcript has shown how thoughtful Judge Williams has been.

They'll push through to the bitter end with all the cases. To do otherwise would force the SJW and rioter (and there will be) to criticize Mosby for dropping "justified" charges. They won't do this because criticizing an African-American State's Attorney goes against their narrative. And by trying all of the officers, and having all acquitted, they will claim justification for their rioting (and there will be).

Barry Slotnick of OJ fame says she needs to drop the other cases since the evidence won't change and the evidence is forcefully addressed by the judge. The driver and highest ranking officer were acquitted and lesser participants will be harder to convict.
