As far as SS goes there are very few young people who are even expecting to receive any SS once they reach age. All my kids in their mid 30's are not expecting to see any SS, hell they figure what they are paying in now is going to fund mine which they very well could be right.

^^^I was surprised, and a bit put off by his comments re: Sarah Huckabee Sanders. It seemed more a critiquue of her appearance than the content of the speech, which I thought was excellent.

Won't stop me from watching him though, as his analysis is generally spot on AND entertaining, but I was disappointed none the less.

Yes, he twice alluded briefly to her appearance, something about "plastic surgery". I have no idea what he's talking about, nor do I see what such a thing has to do with the subject at hand.

Yeah... she looked the same to me as when she worked for Trump.
Her speech was concise and the content was spot on.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I'll say this, as far as SOTU rebuttals go, Sarah Sanders gave by far the best response I've ever heard. It was phenomenal in fact. It seems most times having to do the SOTU response is a death knell for politicians. But she conversely did a fantastic job.

Sarah Sanders:

"Forgive me for not believing much of anything I heard tonight from President Biden...Biden and the Democrats have failed you."

“I’m the first woman to lead my state. And he’s the first man to surrender his presidency to a woke mob that can’t even tell you what a woman is.”

“President Biden is unwilling to defend our border, defend our skies, and defend our people. He is unfit to serve as commander in chief,”

“Make no mistake, Republicans will not surrender this fight,” she added. “We will lead with courage and do what’s right, not what’s politically correct or convenient.”

“The dividing line in America is no longer between right and left — it’s between normal or crazy.”

Best of all, she spoke in very relatable terms. She personalized her speech with a reference to her thyroid cancer diagnosis and being cancer-free now. She referenced being a mom. And she told a moving story about visiting western Iraq during the Trump administration on Christmas Day, leaving her young children as they opened their gifts to make a surprise visit to American troops with the president and first lady. She recounted how happy they were for the visit and their chants of USA! USA! USA! as Trump entered the room
