The implications are greater than you realize. First of all, all this "It's a hoax" crap just went right out the window. Furthermore, he's just acknowledged he did wrong- not the phony apology he gave before. Smith's reputation is forever tarnished. This could cost him millions.

Labeling this incident as a hoax, especially now after all of these days, has far less credibility than characterizing the Smollett incident as a real attack. Well, if you ascribe no greater significance to this incident than it being just a slap, you're wrong once again.

There are two sets of rules in this nation; one for the common man, and one for the privileged elites. The common man would have been dog-piled by security on the way back to his seat, arrested by local authorities, handcuffed, quickly escorted from the theater, jailed, charged, arraigned with no bail, and have a trial date pending.

The privileged elite, on the other hand, get to sit back down after committing battery in full view of millions of people, mouth off, and in less than an hour, receive a trophy and a standing ovation. Then, they get a party thrown for them with top-name celebrities in attendance, where they dance the night away, basked in glorious self-adulation.
