Kavanaugh: "I Will Not Be Intimidated Into Withdrawing" By "Smears" And "Vile Threats"

https://www.zerohedge.com/news...ars-and-vile-threats

Brett Kavanaugh defied his accusers on Monday when he said that he will "not be intimidated into withdrawing" his Supreme Court nomination after a second woman emerged late on Sunday with a sexual misconduct allegation against him. In a letter from Kavanaugh to Senators Chuck Grassley and Dianne Feinstein - the chairman and ranking member of the Judiciary Committee - the SCOTUS candidate said the accusations against him are "smears, pure and simple."

"They debase our public discourse. But they are also a threat to any man or woman who wishes to serve our country. Such grotesque and obvious character assassination - if allowed to succeed -will dissuade competent and good people of all political persuasions from service," Kavanaugh said in the letter to Grassley and Feinstein.

"I will not be intimidated into withdrawing from this process. The coordinated effort to destroy my good name will not drive me out. The vile threats of violence against my family will not drive me out. The last-minute character assassination will not succeed," an exasperated Kavanaugh wrote.

OK, so does that push Flake to vote for Kavanaugh, push Flake to vote against Kavanaugh, or make no difference because Flake had the good sense to hole up somewhere else to get some work done?

Outside of Senator Jeff Flake’s (R-AZ) office, hundreds of activists lined up to urge him to vote “no” on Kavanaugh’s confirmation...

They seek the weak link. The one who wants to put a stick in the eye of the President. The one who's in a position to capitalize off of a "no" vote. The one who's interviewing with CNN and MSNBC.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

If and when Kavanaugh is on the supreme court, he will be there with bitter memories of how the Dems treated him. When certain issues come before him, he may have little trust in what Dem litigants say, and rule accordingly.

I also see these shenanigans going against the the Dems in the midterm elections.

Judge Kavanaugh said it all in his powerful letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee. He was only wrong about one thing-Dianne Feinstein is not worthy in any way of the title Honorable.

The one who's vote is completely irrelevant if Collins and Murkowski do the right thing and vote yes. And if they do, as I've noted before, Flake doesn't have the rocks to be the only Repub senator to vote no on this confirmation.

Judge Kavanaugh, with the aforementioned letter has shown more backbone than most of the Repub's combined. I hope that letter, combined with his testimony on Thursday (assuming Thursday even happens), combined the the insurmountable dishonesty and insanity by the leftists, have guaranteed a yes vote from Collins and Murkowski.

Blasey Ford Still "Negotiating" Over Her Long-Delayed Appearance

Might she now cancel completely now that she's successfully stalled long enough to let the Democrat/Socialist Social Justice Warriors find new accusers?

She's demanding that she only be questioned by the Senators themselves...
https://dailycaller.com/2018/0...ions-ford-kavanaugh/

Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans are considering using female staffers to question Dr. Christine Blasey Ford at the hearing set for Thursday, but her attorneys pushed back.

Committee Republicans "reserve the option to have female staff attorneys, who are sensitive to the particulars of Dr. Ford’s allegations and are experienced investigators, question both witnesses," committee chair Republican Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley said in a letter to Ford’s lawyers Friday, according to The New York Times.

Ford's lawyers only want her to be questioned by senators, reported CNN. All 11 of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Republican members are male.

1. She knows that Kavanaugh's pitbull female lawyer, she-who-specializes-in-defamation-suits, will tear her a new asshole.

1. She and her Democrat handlers NEED the optics of "old white Republican men" giving her, a poor defenseless innocent Progressive woman, a hard time. Roll Eyes

She's not showing up Thursday. No way, no how.

What choices do President Trump and the republicans really have? IMO they should go to full senate vote ASAP after Thursday. Collins has said she needs to hear testimony of accuser first and if that does convince her to vote yes after that then nothing will.

It would be travesty if Brett Kavanaugh is not confirmed but does it make sense to wait until after the mid term elections when the republicans might have more senators but with the risk is that they might lose the senate?

Thoughts?

Does that make any sense to anyone? Why wouldn't she want to be questioned by people that are completely neutral and non-political? Well of course we know why. Because this is very much political. It's always been political.

This is truly insidious behavior on the part of the democrats.

As angry as I am and I'm sure all you are, I can only imagine what is going through Kavanaugh’s mind. His poor daughters are getting a nice lesson on just how vile the left is.
