I agree that’s a possibility. People who have had enough followers, mindless and otherwise, who turn them into cult-like figures tend to develop what I call the Authoritarian Speaker Syndrome (yes, a contrived term, but the best I could come up with). Whatever we call it, they get to the point of believing their own bullshit, as a friend put it. There are countless examples of people from early history to the present who have developed that syndrome.

And once they do, it seems to me that most are incapable of realizing that their opinions are indeed bullshit and shouldn’t be believed. They were idolized by so many people for so long that, “What? No, I’m not the one who’s wrong; everyone else is out of step with me, and when they realize it, I’ll have the followers I deserve once again.” Some people who develop the ASS get over it once they’re faced with a dose of reality, but not everyone, and the more they were idolized or deified the less likely that will happen.

But the drug of being able to successfully say, “Look at me!”—to fans or opponents—is very hard to shake.

@Chellim, I think he has whichever contagion becomes TDS eventually. Is it latent Leftism? I don’t know, but it seems one universal factor in each of these subjects is they turn some time after they think they have F U money and those harnesses that kept their thoughts quiet are no longer there. Tucker turned after he left Fox and everyone venerated him (including yours truly). He has F U money now and no need to worry about what others think of him. A person like that only needs a reason to turn full on TDS and Trump has a way of helping that along.

Crap. He hit my "Ignore" list around the time he was advocating for the murder of ICE agents. The only time I see his posts is when somebody quotes him.
I'm glad to see he's moved on from "Murder ICE" to "Israel and World Jewry are pulling the stringses, precious..."

Yeah… I agree with that.
And, yes , he now has FU money which clouds your vision.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I disagree about Walsh, but Megyn Kelly has disappointed me, in particular her reluctance to take a position on Owens.

I'm assuming he's talking about Joe Walsh.

Joe Walsh, ex GOP congressman, has been a rabid anti-Trumper since Trump 1.0. Nothing new. Matt Walsh has been critical of Trump’s policy recently.

Being from Chicago, I thought Joe Walsh was un-listen-to-able back when he was just anti-Obama. As far as Matt, I don't necessarily have a problem with anyone being critical of Trump. No one is above reproach.

I appreciated Matt spending an entire show last week castigating Owens over her treatment of Erika Kirk.

I cant say for sure, but it seems the changes happened right after Charlie Kirks assassination. Maybe they were going in this direction anyway but it seems that this was the time when the split occurred.
Perhaps after years of supporting Trump then getting snubbed by DJT (in their eyes) they took it personally.

Tucker Carlson started believing his own BS at some point and became unwatchable for me.
That was quite a while ago so I don’t know what he’s been up to recently and don’t care to listen. He lost any credibility he may have once had.

Perhaps a medication/substance issue?

Good question. When he was on Fox, his was the only show I watched. When he went independent, I subscribed to his channel.

But, then he started having strange conversations with oddball guests. The last straw for me was Tucker having Darryl Cooper on who was spouting some lunacy about Churchill being the bad guy and not wanting to sit down and play nice with Hitler. I haven't watched Tucker since then.
