It's simply not tailgating when the jackass driver places his vehicle directly in front of your front bumper and you take your time backing off.

Did you follow up with the police yet OP?

One: dude, chill out a bit behind the wheel. We all have our idiot moments on the road. Nobody else on the road knows you, it ain't personal. Taking out your frustrations with other drivers by (by your own admission) not leaving enough room is a good way to be out an insurance deductible or traffic citation (best case).

Second: I don't care if you were all over the guy with bumpers, brights, horn, double barreled middle fingers, and slurs against his mother's species and daughter's virtue. You did ABSOLUTELY the right thing by calling the PD.

We all know here that guns are not magic wands to be waived about when someone displeases you in public. Nothing you did warranted having a gun flashed at you. That idiot is either gonna shoot someone or get himself shot.

Exactly. And the victim stance throughout the thread after asking for advice is telling.

When idiots collide......

This kind of post gives me a chuckle, thank you.

Not yet. I’m going to follow up on Monday. If they didn’t do anything about it, i’m not going to push it. I’m just kind of curious.

Rob I honestly don’t know why folks perceive I was angry or out of control or anything. I’ve tried to convey the events, but to no avail. I think I even stated I kind of laughed to myself when he did it. I was cool as a cucumber sir. I did pissed when he flashed the gun though. Not angry pissed, but more like, I can’t believe he did that?!?!?!?!? Kind of pissed.

I appreciate the thoughts on calling it in.

Looking forward to the next episode. I will be sure to tune in. The identity of the other driver remains to be seen. I kind of get the feeling that he might be the kind to follow up in a more personal way. As a former criminal defense litigator yourself you may wish to consider the many possibilites.

I used to get torqued up about such things too, then I lived in the City of St Louis where judgment-proof aholes without licenses and insurance drove like crazy, passing cars on the right stopped at a stop sign and blowing the stop sign, turning right from the left lane in front of other cars, pedestrians jay-walking across the street in their leisurely time hoping you hit them so your liability carrier could take care of their year's expenses and entertainment. You might have been right, he had no where to go, but if that guy was just slightly more off-hinged, you could have been right all the way to the grave.

Just a guess, but how much lift you runnin' on your truck and are you 'stroking or cummin'?

If anything came from it the cops would have already contacted you. You would be the victim and they need you to proceed with it going to court, so they woulda called you already and had you file a report.

Probably because of the way you continue to respond in the thread.
