President Trump Reveals What We All Suspected About the 2020 Election in Primetime Address

This speech was kept close to the vest, and now President Trump has revealed what the “really big news” was, teasing it earlier this week. Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH), who glanced at a copy, said it was the most important address since the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The president started his much-anticipated address by saying we are safer, stronger, and wealthier than ever before. We overtook a nation in disrepair, including battling the worst inflation in 48 years, men in women’s sports, and being laughed at around the world. We were considered a dead nation, but now economic investment is soaring, more Americans are working than ever before, and inflation experienced its largest monthly decline in six years.

The president then elaborated on Trump accounts, border security, and rebuilding our military. Trump said we’ll be seeing the “fruits of that labor” in Iran shortly.

Trust in the country leads to greatness, and our elections play a big role in that.

The system we have falls catastrophically short of that standard. Trump announced a massive declassification of documents showing how exposed our election system is to hacking and foreign interference. Top White House aides and intelligence agency chiefs have all reviewed and authenticated the documents.

The documents highlight major areas of concern. Starting in 2020, Beijing carried out the largest-ever compromise of election data. Some 220 million American voters' files were meddled with by Chinese intelligence services. China signed a data exploitation unit for this project.

Members of the Deep State within the IC worked to suppress and downplay the scope and impact of China’s election interference. U.S. spy agencies discovered that the voter data breach in 18 states was bought, stolen, or hacked by China. That breach was kept hidden; Trump, who was still president at the time, was not informed, nor was Congress. The line was that the 2020 election was the most secure in history.

Trump Says China Illicitly Obtained 220 Million US Voter Files Since 2020 Election

China carried out what is believed to be the ‘largest compromise of election data in history,’ the president said in a primetime address.

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump, in a primetime address on July 16, announced the declassification of information that he said reveals large-scale Chinese hacking of American voter information.

“Over a period of years, starting during the 2020 election cycle, the People’s Republic of China carried out what is believed to be the largest compromise of election data in history,” he said, adding that tens of millions of Americans’ voter files were “bought, stolen, or hacked by China.”

All told, China acquired 220 million U.S. voter files, according to the president.

An accompanying transparency report from the White House stated that China gained access to voter roll data across 18 states.

Trump further said that members of the intelligence community sought to suppress data on China’s influence on American elections.

In addition, Trump detailed the findings of an investigation from the Department of Homeland Security that he said showed that 278,000 noncitizens registered on American voter rolls.

“These disclosures reveal an election system so broken and so vulnerable that no one can possibly defend it. It is not defensible,” Trump said.

The president outlined the declassification and release of multiple groups of documents, including assessments he said reveal “a cyber threat aimed at the very heart of our democracy”—vulnerabilities in election databases and other systems, including electronic voting machines.

Citing reporting from the CIA, the president outlined what he described as a multi-year influence campaign by China during his first term aimed at American companies and journalists.

The president said intelligence reports outlining Chinese influence operations directed at the election were withheld from daily presidential briefings during his first term.

He said he was instructing the Justice Department, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and other top officials “to investigate how and why such crucial information was hidden, to fire those involved in the cover-up, and to file criminal charges if appropriate against these people.”

I was surprised that he didn't address any sanctions for China. Although had he, it may have become the focus and not the save act. Interesting how this will play out.

Thousands of DNC employees at a local and national level were involved in the steal of the 2020 elections and we've apparently known for sometime that the Chinese were at the helm.... yet we still have zero indictments and we are months away from midterms. Bondi was a disgrace but time is quickly running out for her replacement to produce results.

I was expecting more. Thought some names would be named and some actual evidence shown and highlighted rather than go to .gov and read what we have found. I read the day prior that he was expected to declare a national election emergency and basically implement all the changes the Save Act would bring. A national emergency needs no Congress approval or can it be stopped by a judge. Similar to what he did to get the border wall funded. Declared a national emergency at the border and drew the funds from the Pentagon budget I believe.

I don't think anything has changed.

I applaud the President taking it to the voters, who overwhelmingly support the SAVE act, to put pressure on Congress. This is how it is supposed to work. POTUS uses the town square to inform and motivate the citizens. The citizens pressure their elected representatives in Congress.

But what we see happening so far is disgraceful! The power hungry opposition is going full throttle with propaganda against election integrity via attacking the messenger, not the content of the message. The media have shamelessly gone full accomplice with the anti-Trump left.

If you are disappointed he hasn't made more progress on exposing election fraud and ensuring election integrity, you try going against globalists, uniparty and an in the pocket press and see what happens. This continues to prove he hasn't become and isn't beholden to them.

Possibly past election fraud is the house of cards that if it falls will wake up many who have been duped in the past. That will be why the in the pocket media will sweep it under the carpet. They will quietly expose themselves by their lack of curiosity.

Two Scandals in One Night

Tonight did not produce one scandal. It produced two, and they compound each other in a way that should worry you regardless of who you voted for.

Scandal One: The Networks Chose Silence

A sitting President asked for prime time to present documentary evidence to the American people. ABC and NBC pushed him to a streaming app nobody was watching and ran a game show and a drama rerun in his place. CNN would not carry him at all.

This is not a network declining to air a stump speech or a policy pitch dressed up as news. Obama's 2014 immigration address was Obama telling the country what he intended to do next. Biden's 2022 speech was Biden characterizing his political opponents as a threat to the republic. Both of those were arguments. Tonight was a president presenting documents, ordering federal agencies to investigate them, and inviting the public to read the underlying material for themselves at a public website. No network has ever before declined to carry a president's own documentary disclosure live. They have only ever declined to carry his rhetoric.

Strip away the spin and look at what that decision actually communicated. Three of the six major networks decided, on their own authority, that the American people should not see their own president lay out evidence in his own words, live, unfiltered, and unedited. They decided the public was better served by a curated summary after the fact, written by the same institutions that had already decided what to think about it before a single document was reviewed. That is not neutral journalism protecting the public from misinformation. That is a handful of executives deciding the public cannot be trusted to watch and think for themselves.

Fox carried it. CBS chose a middle path of reporting and fact checking rather than blackout. So this was not unanimous. But that only makes the decision by the other three more damning, not less, because it proves the choice to withhold live coverage was never about the format. It was about who was speaking and what he was saying.

Ask yourself plainly what kind of institution decides that its own audience cannot be trusted to see a president's evidence with their own eyes. That is not a neutral referee. That is a partisan gatekeeper who has decided which facts you are allowed to encounter live and which ones you may only receive after they have been packaged for you.

Scandal Two: What the Intelligence Community Allegedly Kept From Its Own President

We have talked for years about a bureaucracy inside our intelligence agencies that resents this president and slow walks his agenda. Tonight's disclosures allege something categorically worse than slow walking a policy preference. They allege that officials inside these agencies learned of a foreign government's large scale compromise of American voter data and chose not to tell the President of the United States, not to tell Congress, and not to tell the public.
If that allegation holds up under investigation, it is not a story about bureaucratic friction. It is a story about unelected officials deciding that the country's own commander in chief did not have a right to know his own country's election infrastructure had been compromised by a foreign adversary. There is no version of that decision, if it happened the way tonight's disclosures allege, that is defensible in a republic. You do not get to decide, from inside an intelligence agency, which president is allowed to know what a foreign government has done to the machinery of American self government. That decision belongs to the American people, exercised through the elected officials they choose, not to career officials who have appointed themselves the arbiters of what their president is permitted to learn.

I want to be as careful here as I was this morning. This is an allegation, backed by documents the administration says it is releasing publicly for review, not yet an independently adjudicated finding. The proper response is not blind acceptance. It is the same demand I made this morning: investigate it, follow the evidence, and hold people accountable if the law was broken or the public trust was betrayed. But an allegation this serious, that the people entrusted to protect this country's elections instead protected their own judgment about what their president should be allowed to see, deserves more than a dismissive paragraph buried under a headline that calls it debunked before the documents are even opened.

Where That Leaves Us

Put the two scandals together and you see the same instinct at work in different institutions. A network decides the public cannot be trusted to watch its own president present evidence live. An intelligence bureaucracy allegedly decides its own president cannot be trusted to know what a foreign government did to compromise an American election. In both cases, an unelected institution substituted its own judgment for the judgment of the people and the president they elected.

That is the pattern worth naming tonight. Not a single conspiracy, not a single villain, but an instinct running through multiple institutions that the public and its elected leaders cannot be trusted with the truth in real time, and must instead be managed, curated, and told what to think after the fact.
A republic cannot function that way. The remedy is not to trust blindly whatever is released tonight. It is to demand that both scandals be investigated with the same rigor, and that the institutions responsible, whether a network newsroom or an intelligence agency, answer for a decision that put their own judgment above the public's right to see and know for itself.

What was actually alleged tonight, in summary, for anyone who missed the speech:

1. China's compromise of voter data. The administration alleges China ran a large scale operation, beginning in the 2020 cycle, that obtained roughly 220 million voter files, including addresses, phone numbers, and other sensitive information, and that a dedicated task force inside China's government was built around this data.

2. An intelligence community cover up. The administration alleges officials discovered this breach, along with hacking and bribery activity said to touch 18 states, and chose not to brief Congress or the President. Tied to this are broader claims reaching back to 2018, including an alleged CCP effort to compile intelligence to force a resignation or block reelection, disruption of the 2019 midterms and the 2020 election, alleged CIA involvement in turning business leaders against the president, alleged bribery of journalists, and an alleged FBI record concerning ballot forgery. CIA, DOJ, and ODNI have been directed to investigate.

3. Voting infrastructure vulnerabilities. Newly declassified material is being cited to argue that electronic voting and vote counting machines are unreliable and hackable, and that officials knew it, naming Russia, North Korea, and China as capable actors, along with a CIA report alleging Venezuela's government used voting machines to digitally manipulate the 2020 count in a way immune to audit detection.

4. Michigan voter registration fraud. FBI documents are alleged to show manipulation of Michigan's voter rolls, including an agent allegedly signing or falsifying registration forms, ballots tied to nonexistent people, and gift card vote buying, which the administration says the prior DOJ slow walked. A new FBI and DOJ investigation has been ordered.

5. Non-citizen voter registration. The administration cites a figure of 278,000 non-citizens currently registered to vote nationally, alleges Democratic led states are withholding rolls that would show the real number is higher, and points to dead voters still active on multiple state rolls. This is tied to a renewed push for the SAVE America Act and voter ID.

The administration has been explicit that tonight's disclosures do not include a claim that any 2020 vote total was actually switched or that machines were hacked in a way that changed a result. That distinction is part of the record and should be included alongside the allegations above.
Extraordinary claims. I will look forward to reviewing all the evidence.

To all of my supposedly learned colleagues in the news media, I have watched all day as you have supposedly tried to truth check President Donald Trump's speech on the claim that China "bought, stole or hacked" 220 million voter data files. You all must have gotten the same Democrat talking points memo that declares it's no big deal because anyone can buy voter registration data commercially. So China just did that, you shrugged. Nothing to see here, you yelled. Another exaggeration, you insisted.

Well, I am going to fact check your fact check and point out a potential "buy-us" bias.

First off, the CIA, NSA, DNI and FBI checked then accuracy of every word of the president's speech and approved it before his speech was delivered. I know. I saw it personally. That includes the buy, stole and hack claim. I doubt you "fact checkers" bothered to check with the experts in the intel community. If you had, the intel agencies would have told you, as they told me, that the NSA's intercept data confirms China bought some, stole some and hacked some of the U.S. voter data.

But if you just prefer a Democrat handout, AI and X posts for writing your stories and don't like talking to humans, there were still some glaring clues sitting in front of you -- right in the documents the president gave you -- that confirm the voter data wasn't just bought by China.

To begin, the NSA identified seven states that "bought" commercial data. But later it refers in the 2023 document to the larger collection of data of 220 million files as "compromised" or "leaked." Those are two terms the agencies use for illicit acquisition of data, not lawfully bought data.

Secondly, a very sensitive NSA intercept we got declassified from 2022 reports that a Chinese CNE -- a data exploitation unit -- was newly assigned in 2022 to the voter registration data project. These units don't do lawful data buys. They are cyber thieves. They are hackers. One such CNE was indicted by the Biden DOJ in 2024 for compromising 40 million voter files in Britain. (Funny thing is Biden's team decried that hack but didn't mention Americans had been hacked at a far larger scale."

But here is a third and dispositive piece of proof, according to the intel experts I talked with.

Most states sell the data with basic information like name, address, political party and voting history, according to Ballotpedia.

But none give up Social Security numbers, almost none provide a full date of birth and nearly half don't provide phone numbers in the commercially sold data.

But the NSA data reports released by the White House clearly stated that the voter files in China's possession by 2023 had "birth dates" and "phone numbers."

I rest my case.

Information Control – U.S Media Promote Rebuttal to Speech They Refused to Broadcast

In a recent counterpoint posed by Michael Smerconish against his own interests at CNN, ABC and NBC, the pundit was refreshingly honest, albeit maintaining pretense.

Smerconish noted it would be “unfair to the office of the President” to present rebuttal dialogue to a speech they refused to air. He posed the issue as one of intellectual hypocrisy, which it is; however, in reality, that was a feature of the media approach, not a flaw within it.

For several years CTH has noted there is no such thing as mis-dis or mal-information, there is only information. The purpose of our emphasis is highlighted in this example.

The leftist media did not want to allow information to reach their sheeple viewers. So, they awaited the conclusion of President Trump’s remarks and then summarized what he said for the audience along with their rebuttal. By blocking the information from Trump, they limit and control the information to only that which they present. This is by design.

We are seeing this approach in the USA for the same reason we are noting it in Canada. The audience for both messaging systems is the same, blind sheeple leftists. If the source information is never displayed or heard, the only reference is the rebuttal information. This is the same pattern within domestic abuse situations.

A domestic abuser often tries to isolate their victim from family and friends to cut off sources of information or support that could counter the abuse. If the victim maintained contact, it would be harder for the abuser to manipulate them. Some people draw a parallel between this dynamic and the way they perceive leftist media influencing its audience, casting the media in the role of abuser and the audience as willing participants.

The Smerconish segment highlights how wrong it is for any argument to start by isolating, blocking, or censoring the source of information, then spinning their own version of it and offering counterpoints aimed at eliminating the perceived threat of the information itself.

You may have heard me say, “the need for control is a reaction to fear.” This is evident in this dynamic as well. The media have built their brand around a single, fragile narrative that depends on maintaining falsehoods. That brand could crumble if ever challenged by the original source or an opposing viewpoint.

Unless and until people are willing to engage with intellectual honesty, communists are comprehensively incapable of this consideration, there is no hope within the debate. This is a serious problem made worse by the severity of the media’s financial position in retaining lies.

China is only a part of it. They would be far less successful if they did not have an assist from those in our own government. I will be forthright. I am very disappointed in the Trump administration thus far. I truly believed he was going to swing with a big and heavy hammer.
His campaign was built on two things. Illegal immigration and drain the swamp and the deep state along with it and yes no new wars. Yes he has done well with immigration but the swamp is still very much intact and thriving. He is in a the everlasting leg trap everyone gets into in a war against a Muslim country when you don't have the conviction to deliver the hammer blow. As long as the swamp is thriving this country will not. What is he supposed to do? I don't claim to know but he campaigned on it heavily so I believed he had a plan.

Minnesota, my home state. He had the opportunity to show the rest of the country what happens when you defy federal law and attack federal law enforcement. The insurrection act was available to him and all the criteria were met and then some. He didn't take that next step. He balked. It cost another life. He left ICE hanging. He should have stepped in after the first shooting and the second never would have happened. The entire upper tier of the Minnesota State government was actively involved in directing and assisting the protesters against ICE using Signal Chat. They could have and should have all been arrested. Last I heard Kash was looking into it. But now they are still intact granting immunity to illegal aliens who are raping 10 year old girls. This is why things are not going to really change.
