They had almost 50 years to enact Federal legislation, and even had years of democrat majorities in both houses and the presidency, but they didn't.

Because that means making an actual yes or no vote and not just saying "I believe in choice and I respect the court's decision". Then they would lose votes from one or the other side, and they can't have that.

The loonies should be mad at their elected representation for doing nothing for 5 decades.

Sorry Nancy, There is one above the Pope that really matters.

Pelosi receives Holy Communion at Mass presided over by Pope Francis

https://www.lifesitenews.com/n...ver-by-pope-francis/

VATICAN CITY (LifeSiteNews) – Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi has reportedly received Holy Communion at a Mass presided over by Pope Francis this morning, despite being banned from receiving Communion by her local ordinary, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone.

The Democrat leader flew to Rome for a special meeting with Pope Francis, at which she received a blessing, before attending Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica.

Pelosi then received Holy Communion from a priest at the Mass.

According to the teaching of the Catholic Church, Pelosi’s vocal and persistent support for the killing of unborn children precludes the high-profile politician from receiving the Body and Blood of Christ, due to the gravely sinful and scandalous nature of both murder and the sacrilegious reception of Holy Communion.

Pope Francis, however, previously expressed opposition to barring pro-abortion politicians from Holy Communion, claiming that priests should accompany such legislators with “compassion and tenderness”.

Joe Biden told reporters last year in Rome that Pope Francis recommended he continue receiving Holy Communion, despite the U.S. president’s long-standing support for killing unborn babies.

Fresh from condemning the Supreme Court’s ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade on Friday, Pelosi’s decision to receive Holy Communion on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul at a Mass presided over by Pope Francis represents a significant development in her dissent from Church teaching.

Responding to Archbishop Cordileone’s move to ban her from Holy Communion in May, the 82 year-old Democrat had said she didn’t respect pro-life people “foisting” their views on others.

Today she told diplomats in Rome that “faith is an important gift, not everyone has it but it is the path to so many other things.”

The Catholic Church teaches that the Eucharist is the literal Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, and that no Catholic who has committed a mortal sin is to present himself or herself for Holy Communion until he or she has confessed that sin in the Sacrament of Confession.

Canon 915 of the Church’s Code of Canon Law instructs that “Those who have been excommunicated or interdicted after the imposition or declaration of the penalty and others obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to holy communion.”

Cordileone’s statement made clear to Pelosi that a “Catholic legislator who supports procured abortion, after knowing the teaching of the Church, commits a manifestly grave sin which is a cause of most serious scandal to others. Therefore, universal Church law provides that such persons ‘are not to be admitted to Holy Communion’ (Code of Canon Law, can. 915).”

While Pelosi continues to claim she is Catholic, despite rejecting Magisterial teaching on the sacredness of human life and a host of other moral issues, Bl. Pius XII’s 1943 encyclical, Mystici Corporis, states that “only those are to be included as members of the Church who have been baptized and profess the true faith, and who have not been so unfortunate as to separate themselves from the unity of the body, or been excluded by legitimate authority for grave faults committed (n. 22).”

Putting her further at odds with Catholic teaching, the California Democrat took to MSNBC in late May to attack Cordileone’s decision and his opposition to LGBT “marriage”, saying abortion was a “front man” for the pro-life movement’s opposition to contraception and in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

“This is not just about terminating a pregnancy,” Pelosi told Morning Joe viewers on MSNBC, adding that the “same people are against contraception, family planning, in-vitro fertilization … it’s a blanket thing and they use abortion as the front man for it while they try to undo so much.”

The Democrat claimed that, coming “from a largely pro-life Italian American Catholic family,” she respects people’s views about abortion, but doesn’t “respect us foisting it onto others.”

“Now our archbishop has been vehemently against LGBTQ rights,” she continued. “In fact, he led the way in an initiative on the ballot in California, so this decision taking us to privacy and precedent is very dangerous in the lives of so many of the American people.”

Pelosi doubled down in her support for abortion on Friday by slamming the Supreme Court’s historic decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Pelosi described the ruling as “outrageous and heart-wrenching,” and said that was achieving the Republican Party’s “dark, extreme goal of ripping away a woman’s right to make their own reproductive health decisions.”

While Archbishop Cordileone was supported by a number of U.S. bishops in his decision to ban Pelosi from Holy Communion, a spokesperson for Cardinal Wilton Gregory of the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., said the prelate “has not instructed the priests of the [archdiocese] to refuse Communion to anyone.”

This woman is going to hell. Of that I have no doubt.

Unless she fully confesses and repents for her sins of course. But I do not believe she is even looking for absolution.

My Catholic friends don’t even call him “Pope Francis”…they refer to him by his birth name. God shall release his wrath one day amid weeping and gnashing of teeth. What a GLORIOUS sight that will be!!!

There will be no 'delight' in watching others suffer hell. IF people could see the torment of hell from heaven, the only emotions would be along the lines of great sorrow and sadness to see them in their suffering.

God teaches us to have compassion for those who don't know Him. I honestly pity nancy. She is fooling nobody but herself in this gross demonstration of pride and arrogance.

Tucson city council and Mayor (All Democrats) stated they will allow abortions and ignore Arizona laws.

State said they will enforce an old law banning abortions.

Last time TCC went against state law they had their asses handed to them and taxpayers had to pony up a million bucks to pay legal expenses.

No problem. Wait for the next city council meeting and go in and arrest all of them from the mayor on down. Make an example of these idiots.

Heaven would be no better than Hell if one would be able to view the torment and I have to question any theology of a theologian that would even suggest such a thing.

The idea was espoused by extremely knowledgeable and influential early Christian theologians. A few examples here:

https://www.phatmass.com/phoru...ments-of-the-damned/

The fact that many/most people would find the idea repugnant today is one of countless examples of how religious beliefs evolve to stay in line with society’s mores, but my point was that not everyone feels that way as evidenced by the comment I quoted.

A true example of a CINO doing the devil's work.

I look forward to the day when God 'foisters' his beliefs on her in judgement.

I have to admit, if I've been somewhat ambivalent and indifferent on this subject before, I am no longer.

Supreme Court is hearing an Affirmative action case next year. Asians are contending they are being denied admission to Harvard because of affirmative action policies. Harvard and ALL colleges should have MERIT based admissions only.

Asian parents were a big reason for the school board recall in SF. Someone got the message because the selective admission magnet school went back to merit based admissions.

Asians are absolutely being discriminated against in higher ed. With objective admissions, Asians score higher on admissions tests and have better grades and thus more are admitted. Harvard and others changed to subjective admissions, and Harvard in particular consistently gave Asians a lower subjective rating for personality traits. Except the ratings were often made by people who had not met or interviewed the Asian student.

So basically Asians score objectively well, but are universally rated subjectively as "nerds" to keep their admissions rates down. Lower scoring minorities are given higher subjective personality ratings to increase their admission rates.

BUT here's the best part. The schools NEED the high scores of the Asians to keep their rankings up, since schools are ranked based on average admission test scores, average class ranking, and various other factors like placement rates after graduation, starting salaries, etc.

So for every 1200 SAT they admit for "diversity" they need a 1600 SAT Asian to keep the average at 1400.

The result is that Asians need much higher scores than other minorities to be admitted, which is racist in both intent and effect. Institutional racism, for real.

I don't think there is any objective evidence that diversity of race or ethnicity has any effect on education. If that were true, kids in China in all Chinese schools wouldn't be outscoring American kids in STEM fields.

It is now that conservative SCOTUS justices need constant Secret Service protection. The loony left is likely to really try to assassinate one so they can get the court back to 4/5 with Squish Roberts as the tie breaker.

You'd think that blacks and Hispanics would be upset that they're told they have to score lower on the SAT to gain admission versus the whites or Asians.

No doubt hiring is going that way as well these days.

Since George Floyd diversity quotas have gone full retard.

A black woman with minimal experience in my functional area got put in a position on my team that should require subject matter expert level experience, passing over more highly qualified white men. Now my team has two black women without the requisite experience to have any credibility in their roles, and that is way over proportion to the employment population.

Every new VP is a woman. I think the CEO's staff is now about half white women, a couple white guys, a black guy, and a couple Indian guys. That is WAY out of population parity.

The CEO says we will achieve 10% black and 10% hispanic. But we have way more Asians and Indians then their population parity. So which group will be way under population parity? Yep, white men.

Any minority or woman complaining about a glass ceiling or that they have to try twice as hard is full of shit. If you can check a box or better yet two boxes and are competent, you WILL get more opportunities than much more highly qualified white men.

I think I will start identifying as a lesbian woman who dresses and presents as a man. If I don't get the next promotion I will claim discrimination as trans female transvestites. Oh, and I will identify as Native American Hispanic because how the fuck are they going to tell me I'm not?
