^ Again, why do we need a search engine or AI engine to tell us what is right and wrong? What is the source that tells us what is right and wrong? Is it search engines and AI? How did we come to the conclusion in 1775? Or 1861? Or 1917? Or 1941? Evil feeds on lies, and grows stronger on them, only truth, and there is only one truth, can effectively counter evil. Everything else is a false sense of passivization. _____________________________ Off finding Galt's Gulch

Well said Dan. Well said. Our First Amendment is, according to some scholars, the most important freedom we have (hence it’s the first), but with that freedom comes responsibility, something that seems to be sorely lacking in today’s society. Perhaps the recent event and its reverberations will help shine a light on that very important point. ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

I don’t. Evil won’t let them find remorse. But I can hold out hope that experiencing some [overdue] consequences will at least temper this one a little and give her some visibility to her own nastiness. Personally, I don’t have much sympathy for anyone rejoicing in Charlie’s death and posting that celebration online causing them to lose their jobs. What these cretin and their supporters (or anyone claiming a 1st amendment violation) don’t seem to get is that the businesses they represent have clearly spelled out agreements not to engage in rhetoric that damages the company. They sign paperwork and acknowledge this when they are hired whether they remember doing it or not. All these fucking whiners pissing and moaning on social media they we “TOOK THEIR JERB!” Did this to themselves with their hate for not only Charlie, but HIS right to free speech on a far more permanent basis. Of course, they are too immature or too dishonest to admit that these firings are between them and their employers, not conservatives. ZERO sympathy. Perhaps learn to code as soon as many Americans were brusquely and insultingly told to do when jobs were destroyed by the left. FUCK THEM. They have successfully removed my interest or concern for their financial woes. This is a war their side started that they not only started but celebrated. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

Greg Gutfeld was on FIRE last night on The Five. Literally had fire coming out of his eyes. He said everything we are all thinking and feeling and pulled no punches. It was epic and beautiful.

This needs a speedy trial, and an execution (hopefully by firing squad). That'll keep the Left from trying to make the shooter some kind of martyr, and, hopefully, discourage any wannabes.

Hold off on the execution. This dickhead may decide to start talking. I firmly believe he was not a lone wolf . Squeeze him for every bit of intel you can get .

AI Overview Utah's default execution method is lethal injection, but a firing squad is a legal alternative if the state cannot obtain the lethal injection drugs. Inmates sentenced before May 2004 also had the option to choose the firing squad, though this option was removed for those sentenced after 2004. The last firing squad execution in Utah was in 2010, while the state's most recent execution by lethal injection occurred in 2024. Serious about crackers.

I'm sure Kirk had numerous credible threats against his life prior to his assassination and therefore had someone (or a firm) responsible for security. Last year I met a guy who was responsible for security for Microsoft execs as they attended the DNC Convention. So, the hiring of these type of firms is not unusual in for those in the public eye. I worked in Risk Management for 30 years so I recognize that I look at Risk Assessment from a different lens than the general public. But to me, leaving a rooftop unsecured during an event that you have a client speaking. That was/is no longer an option. If you had asked me before the Kirk assassination I would have told you the same thing.

Has anybody blamed COVID yet? The assassin’s last two years of high school were 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. That’s smack dab COVID lockdowns and restrictions. I know my kids spent a lot of time online with their friends. Plus, the guy was taking college classes as a high school student, so even after kids went back to school, I’m guessing he had a bunch of online classes. I’m guessing he spent a lot of time isolated from his peers. That time period brought out the inner tyrant in an awful lot of people. It emboldened some people to purposefully engage in confrontations with other people in ways that would not have been acceptable before COVID and those being confronted held back. Stuck in their echo chambers, the tiny tyrants pumped themselves up. Now that the exercise of freedom of assembly has returned, these people are learning they aren’t as important or powerful as they thought they were and that infuriates them even more.

I tuned in just in time to see Greg go scorched-earth. Epic, indeed. Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

Admittedly, I knew very little about Charlie Kirk leading up to his assassination. You're still comparing him to politicians and Microsoft execs. Just how much do you think Kirk could afford? Looking at his college visit, it didn't appear to be an elaborate nor expensive event. Was Kirk the kind of person where dropping $100K on executive protection for a day would have been no big deal to him? People felt the need to start a GoFundMe for his family, so I'm guessing he probably wasn't a millionaire. Since you work in risk management, why don't you tell us how much you would budget for adequate security?

Oh, look! Pam Bondi finally showed herself and said something, err I mean, wrote something, on Twitter. Quoted directly from Fox News that was posted about an hour ago:

It's a good point. We also have a passivity, or a failure to recognize truth among certain elements on the right. There are many people, particularly millenials, who have been so warped by the lies of government since 9/11 that they believe nothing coming from government. They don't believe the FBI story, they don't believe it's a trans activist shooter, they don't believe anything because that's the story or narrative coming from government. Perhaps they haven't fully developed a conspiracy theory or an alternative but they certainly think government is lying. Therefore, they believe it can't be Tyler Robinson, with or without help from his trans friends, because that's the government narrative. Why does this matter? Well, it's not just young leftists who are a problem. It's the cognitive dissonance of an entire generation of people who simply don't believe anything. It's nihilism. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

I don't have much to add to this conversation except for how much I appreciated the way that Charlie Kirk was. His debate skills were amazingly honed and knew his talking points to a tee. I've never seen a clip of him when he didn't have an honest and concise reply to anyone. He could come off as smug but I never saw anything where he was impolite. I would love to be as quick witted and eloquent as Charlie was. _______________________ “There is more stupidity than hydrogen in the universe, and it has a longer shelf life.” ― Frank Zappa
