That's not the Shogun. This is what I have although it has been replaced with a newer model. https://longislandwatch.com/se...-dive-watch-sbdc007/ This is the newer version: https://www.shoppinginjapan.ne...spex-sbdc029-shogun/

Oh well, As Iv'e written sometime back in this forum about which watch to own, I'm totally sold on my Apple watch. It checks my heart for fib's; rate of heartbeat, and a ladies voice inquires "are you OK" when making a panic stop while driving. If I don't reply I guess my location by longitude/latitude will be furnished to law enforcement....can a Rolex do that???? As for accuracy, Apple watches time keeping accuracy is via the National Bureau of Standards Atomic Clock in Colorado.....can't beat that! Rolex...mine (two of them) reside in their nifty boxes in my dresser drawer. Yes, they tell the time and date, but not as well as my Apple! If I wanted to impress people, then Rolex might be appropriate, but only Apple might literally be my lifesaver!

Here's a nice article detailing 20 from affordable to crazy money. Many of the affordablemodels have been mentioned here. https://www.exquisitetimepiece...-mechanical-watches/ __________________________ My door is always open to Sigforum members, and I'm always willing to help if I can.

Check out Baltic, they use Miyota movements, owned by citizen. Miyota movements seem to be a bit more refined than Seiko's "main line" stuff. https://baltic-watches.com/en I'm also a big fan of Yema, they're using a lot of their own design movements https://en.yema.com

I believe it is, based on this article and a chat with my pal at the Seiko AD, but please don't take that as if I'm attempting to argue about it. I do really like the black face on the model you linked.
That's a nice list, for sure. I was pretty excited when I read there that the SPB143 "is priced at $575." Then I clicked on it and found it listed at $1200. Bummer! God bless America.

I stand corrected. That is a very appealing watch with the white dial! Seiko has made some advancements since I purchased mine about 15 years ago.

I actually prefer the Miyota 9000 series movements over the ETA 2824 or equivalents. I have had the movement in my GSAR and Evant break (ETA) but i have never had a Miyota go bad, and I have an embarrassing number of 9015 watches. My experience is Miyota series are bulletproof. ...that I will support and defend...
