Patsy Cline had a voice I can listen to all day. Not really hard rock, though. I would say it's a tie between Linda Ronstadt and Mama Cass. Maybe it was the huge crush thing at the time, but Cherie Currie, Joan Jett and Lita Ford were some of my favorites, and having them all at once in The Runaways was almost too much to handle. I agree with several others here. Karen Carpenter has a great voice. So does Ann Wilson. 2nd concert I ever went to was Heart. “I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.”

I always liked Amy Lee; though best of all time? Maybe not. But I have a crush on her voice. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

A bit off topic, but if you listen to the studio recording of “You’re So Vain”, you can clearly hear Mick Jagger singing backup vocals!

I mean, if we're going to include pop, soul, and r n' b singers, then nobody can touch Aretha. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

Janis Joplin Honorable mention to Bonnie Raitt & Debbie Harry. Aretha if we're talking soul.
