Patsy Cline had a voice I can listen to all day. Not really hard rock, though. I would say it's a tie between Linda Ronstadt and Mama Cass.

(For males, John Fogarty by a whisker over Mick Jagger.)

Maybe it was the huge crush thing at the time, but Cherie Currie, Joan Jett and Lita Ford were some of my favorites, and having them all at once in The Runaways was almost too much to handle.

I agree with several others here. Karen Carpenter has a great voice.
So does Ann Wilson. 2nd concert I ever went to was Heart.

I always liked Amy Lee; though best of all time? Maybe not. But I have a crush on her voice.

A bit off topic, but if you listen to the studio recording of “You’re So Vain”, you can clearly hear Mick Jagger singing backup vocals!

Her range and purity was amazing.

I mean, if we're going to include pop, soul, and r n' b singers, then nobody can touch Aretha.

Honorable mention to Bonnie Raitt & Debbie Harry.

Aretha if we're talking soul.

Ann Wilson and Lita Ford top my list for female rockers

wouldn't exactly call Patsy Cline or Carly Simon rockers - although they are good singers Smile
