An Army of One.
God Bless You, Alejandro.
Shame on you, The Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tomlin had said before the game that Pittsburgh’s players would remain in the locker room and that “we’re not going to let divisive times or divisive individuals affect our agenda.” Tomlin added that the Steelers made this choice “not to be disrespectful to the anthem but to remove ourselves from this circumstance. People shouldn’t have to choose.

Mr. Tomlin, you choose.
You choose to be disrespectful.

That sends a more powerful image and statement than the pussies in the locker room. Razz

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

We will air this Unity spot in tonight’s game. It reflects the unifying force of our great game, our players & clubs

what an insult Roger. To play this video as you stand w players disrespecting our flag, anthem, and country

from NFL Communications:

Unity Spot To Air During Sunday Night Football

"Inside These Lines" highlights the unifying power of the game and its players

Last season during Super Bowl LI, the NFL debuted "Inside These Lines," a 60-second spot that demonstrates the power of football to bring people together. To highlight the unifying force of our great game and attributes of our players, "Inside These Lines" will re-air tonight during Sunday Night Football on NBC.

Narrated by Forest Whitaker, the video opens with the words, "Inside these lines, we don't have to come from the same place, to help each other reach the same destination. Inside these lines, we may have our differences, but recognize there is more that unites us."

The visuals depict a crew preparing the field for a game, followed by images of players and fans overcoming differences and banding together – all "Inside These Lines."

This is disgusting beyond words. How anyone can still watch and support the nfl in any way leaves me heartbroken for this country.

Enjoy your silly game if you must. I happen to love my country, and I understand what it means to stand for the flag and why we do it...

I often have gone with Scouts to plant flags at the Golden Gate Cemetery for Memorial Day and have seen shots like that a number of times.

Given the entirety of the NFL's treatment of this issue, the players, the owners and the league, I can hardly see how anybody can think of pro football as a "great American game." The NFL is promoting an attitude that is the inverse of our country's values, IMO. Yes, I'm saying they are essentially anti-American.

This is coming from a guy, me, who never considered himself to be exceptionally patriotic.

I sent an email to the Patriots letting them know I will no longer be patronizing the NFL or any of their sponsors. They call the franchise The Patriots but they are anything but with this behavior. The talking heads have stated the president has disrespected the league and the players...how about their disrespect of the fans and the nation?

The more revenue the NFL loses the larger my smile will become.

God bless him, and every man or woman who chose to serve this nation by wearing the uniform and putting themselves in harm's way.

It infuriates me to see these NFL assholes acting like spoiled children disrespecting our flag, anthem and nation.

I sent the Eagles a message saying that I stopped watching games as of last year and will continue to do so while spoiled idiots kneel during the anthem and dickhead owners like Lurie disrespect our president and everything the flag stands for. Finally, I would not be a NFL fan again until the league, NFL owners and players union apologizes to this nation's citizenry. I then sent unique messages on behalf of several family members (who asked me to), using their contact info. Football has entertainment value only and it's time anyone that draws revenue from the sport understand that the luxury isn't a necessity.

FUCK THE NFL.

The players will find another way to express their "protest:" black arm band, one black glove. They are children. Think spoiled brats with enabling parents.

There is another advantage to not watching NFL games on TV.

Most games are in either CBS or Fox, both of which seem to believe this is an excellent time to pimp their abysmal TV line up of programs. I have long found that disturbing and not watching frees me from that onerous infliction.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
