I'm beginning to think that maybe we have overestimated just how many cameras are in these hotels.

All the conspiracy people can tighten their tin-foil. The murderer's home was burglarized last weekend. Clearly, this was his CIA contacts purging all incriminating evidence for the conspiracy. Roll Eyes No one must have seen the escape since they took the silent black helicopters.

Oh, and no brain tumors on autopsy. They didn't mention if there were any CIA chips in his brain though. Roll Eyes

from one of the news stories:

" There are no surveillance cameras in the hotel hallway , only on the floor’s elevator banks, and the timestamps on the hotel’s communications systems have in some cases been inaccurate, hampering investigators’ ability to build an accurate timeline"

MGM will be very sensitive to the time when the guard was shot, when he reported it to main hotel security, and what then was reported to police.

Attorneys for victims are already talking about suing MGM.

From the police side, they will be sensitive to exactly when they were notified by MGM security and how they handled that information.

Until we get more clarification, it seems strange that Paddock fired so many times down the hall, the security guard reportedly called that in right away to hotel security, and yet no one is talking about a police response to that incident that occurred earlier than the mass shooting.

The answers can come from several areas:
what is the real time line?
did MGM security screw up?
was there a police dept missed opportunity to act sooner?

The news report said some officers were already in MGM looking into an unrelated incident while all this went down

As several have pointed out, it is a shocking experience to go instantly from a) "condition normal / no danger" to b) "condition mass confusion / life threatening". Shocking and sometimes numbing.

Thinking about the "200 rounds" ( I doubt this number given how quickly it was released and the ever changing details) fired through the door at the security officer. I hear .223 often spoken about as an ideal home defense round due to its lack of overpenitration, even fmj, in household materials like wood and drywall. I would like to see some pictures of the door and the hallway. My guess would be that the majority of the rounds fired through the door dumped most of their energy on impact and at most tumbled to the carpet pretty quickly if they penetrated the door intact.

I can just imagine the reaction of the hotels in Las Vegas after that interview with the weird animated brother (he looked to me as enjoying his ten minutes in the spotlight) Eek...

How long before we see "heartfelt" commercials about how this terrible event has made Vegas safer?...

Maybe not...but I wouldn't be surprised Frown

There is always a motive. It may not make sense to us, but there was a motive.

Way too much planning and forethought to be a random "snap".

City of Las Vegas too.

The Mandalay Bay is not in the City of Las Vegas.

It is in Paradise, NV, an unincorporated town in Clark County, adjacent to the City of Las Vegas.

Under Nevada's Unincorporated Town Government Law, unincorporated towns are provided extra services by the county, paid for by property taxes or other revenue sources from the town. This is why the Sheriff of Clark County and his underlings were briefing the media and why the CCSO is (or was?) running the investigation.

So the suit will likely hit Clark County, not the City of Las Vegas.

more details. Still inconsistencies

http://www.newsweek.com/who-je...meline-mishap-681898

On Tuesday, Las Vegas Metro Police Undersheriff Kevin McMahill explained more about Campos's actions the night of the shooting, helping fill in some of what happened ahead of the attack.

He told KNPR, a local NPR affiliate, that Campos went up to the 32nd floor to investigate a door alarm. While on the 32nd floor, he found that a stairwell door was jammed and radioed down to maintenance.

Campos heard a drilling sound and thought it was odd. A maintenance worker came up to the 32nd floor. As the pair started talking, Paddock began firing through the door of his room, first with a single-fire gun and then with a rapid-fire rifle.

Police have said that when Campos radioed what happened, it helped them track where Paddock was holed up. McMahill didn’t elaborate on the six minutes or why police found it difficult to locate Paddock when, according to the new timeline, they had his location minutes before the assault started.

“I understand why people are frustrated with this because we are as well,” McMahill told KNPR.

so after posting the above from Las Vegas Metro Police Undersheriff Kevin McMahill, it is now obvious parts of that are wrong

here is an interview with the maintenance man (who comes across very professionally)

2 videos at the link.

important to watch both

https://www.nbcnews.com/storyl...an-s-rampage-n809726

in the second video, it is reported that Sheriff Lombardo said Mandalay Bay security did report the initial shooting to police, and the timeline may change again
