Or brain warts. We know this about his motivation: 1. He wanted to kill or wound as many people as he could in a short time. 2. He did not intend to survive his actions. 3. He thought enough about what he planned to do to succeed at 1 and 2. This plan didn't require a rocket surgeon to concoct, especially if the goal was 2. It didn't take a Tear One operator to execute. More facts will follow, as will wild speculation. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

Good question. Some people move continually move to hide. Some to stay anonymous. Some to refine their craft. Some because they are mentally disturbed. Police should be all over those residences looking for the reason.

Crap, half staff orders for this until the 6th, and my telescoping pole is stuck! Guess I over tightened it. Going to Harbor Freight in in the AM for a couple of those rubber strap wrenches... Collecting dust.

Personally, I suspect the radical Islamic terrorism connection will end up being true. Target selection, size and relative sophistication and impact, large and recent money transfers overseas (if true), Malaysian link, foreign girlfriend, yadda yadda. That's a lot of circumstances to mean nothing. Maybe that's true, that it means nothing (or at least means it wasn't related to ISIS, et al), but I have doubts and hope the question gets answered with some degree of satisfaction, regardless. I hope I'm mistaken.

How about circumstances? Any chance there are things we actually don't know about this guy's life? You say he moved a lot "for a reason", but you can't tell me the reason. Don't worry, because you are.

The guy apparently had enough money to get whatever suite he wanted. Doubt he was gambling just for the comps. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Strong elements of narcissism are present in most mass shooters. With social media your infamy is almost immediate. Many other factors as well. Islamic terrorism is doubtful. Political leanings generally meaningless as well.

No way I could know the reason he moved frequently. That's what the bunch at the FBI BSU are experts at. It's a red flag the police will investigate.

If he didnt have a room cause theyve been booked for months, as another member noted, would be a reason. We will find out soon enough. What man is a man that does not make the world better. -Balian of Ibelin Only boring people get bored. - Ruth Burke

Really? I think the extremely limited facts we have at this point would indicate his relationship, or lack thereof, with his father. Early info looks like he wasn't there and something around that situation is more than likely than ISIS at this point in the situation. C'mon man.

The guy was 64 years old. You're suggesting that having two dozen or so residences in 64 years is a "red flag". Man, you guys need to step back for a minute and think about what you're saying. We're taking these scraps of information we've discovered about the man and assigning significance to them. This is exactly what 24 hour cable news is doing. They're trying to create a narrative out of incidental information. Please, just stop and think about what I'm saying. It's just a guy who went nuts. Maybe he was nuts a for a while, but Jesus Christ, this is not the act of a sane person. It's just not. He was crazy. After all is said and done, I think that's all they're going to find. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023

I understand why you lock these posts until facts are out. 21 pages, probably 2 of actual info vs speculation (im guilty of spec. too). What man is a man that does not make the world better. -Balian of Ibelin Only boring people get bored. - Ruth Burke

Why are you guys talking about him...you are just playing into the FAME he wanted and desired. Like Para said, he's mental-who cares why-normal people don't pick up a rifle or eight and kill other humans... QUIT making these assholes famous. Wikipedia should delete these assholes and just list them to a link to "some asshole with a gun who killed innocent people who were minding their own business" "Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor.” Robert A.
