Jeez Jay, Looks like I need to deliberately start searching them out! The Viaje and the Crux line both. They don't seem to be around here locally at all

I use to be a viaje fan but there quality was really hit or miss. Maybe they have gotten better but but finding a blend I liked was hit or miss I didn't like the holiday blend nor summerfest. And when I did find a blend I liked some would have quality issues.

When viaje are on they are as good as anyone.

I havent experienced the quality issues with Viaje, I also havent bought them in bulk. The last year or so I have been just going into the lounge and picking out whatever they had that was seasonal or new. Viaje has alot of seasonal smokes and theyre are always on display at the store in the big Humidor, hard to resist after having the zombies and antidotes last year. The only ones I bought a box of were the Ten ton tess. Sadly I am down to my last one.

Viaje needs to be rotated constantly to get a fairly straight burn. All of the ones I smoked have burned crooked and needed a lot of touch ups unless I turned them frequently. The they are great sticks though otherwise.

Lee, Any samples? Not her...a cigar!

I am smoking a Partegas before I head in to watch the Penguins game

Anyone willing to trade?

I'm seeking out an aged Cohiba BHK 54 -

In trade I have a Padron 50th Anniversary. This is not one of the Family Reserve sticks mind you, but instead one of the very limited 50th from the White Humidor.

For a...

Gents,

Up in Austin for the weekend. Going to swing by the Bobalu factory store later today.

Anyone have any experience with their cigars?

Thanks

OK guys, update on the Bobalu stuff.

They have two stores - one down near 6th street and one up north that is the "factory store".

I roll into the factory store today and damn...there are actual people rolling actual cigars.

The building is large, but most of it is dedicated to the making of cigars. They have a smoking area on the right, a humidor on the left and the rest is no kidding factory. As in, hand-rolling everything.

Stacks of leaves everywhere, and on tables there are Cuban women rolling cigars. They say they are Cuban, but hey, I watched that Seinfeld episode! Anyway, I watched a few sticks get rolled from different "desks".

The guy at the counter (don't think he was the owner) came into the humidor with me to explain what they did and what they offered.

Very friendly and knowledgeable guy. They have cigars that run the gamut - super mild to kick you in the face.

I told him what I wanted (I have a party coming up and wanted something for new smokers) and he pointed me to some Connecticut Shades. Nice.

I wanted some more for people that liked cigars and I got a couple of Cameroon Maduros and a double Maduro. They had a buy 5 get one free, so I ended up with 6 sticks.

Total cost was $40 for these.
