Well done! Good decisions, all around.

"The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams

The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all. -Mencken

Congratulations SGT.

Remember where you came from, and remember to reward the hard workers you supervise.

Also remember when you get future awards that it took a team effort (unless it didn't) and then award/reward accordingly.

Have a policy that you follow also that when there is a screw up or an atta-boy the person who made the mistake or the atta-boy bring in a treat for the crew. I have bought many dozen donuts in my federal career both for making mistakes and for getting awards.

Congratulations! I am not going to add to the advice given, it’s exceptional. Just look out for the troops, watch their backs and hopefully they will take care of your 6. Best of luck.

Just be the boss you would want on patrol.

And remember: it's okay not to know all the answers. It's not okay to not know how to find them.

Congratulations Chongo!
It took to courage to make that move.
You put family first and look where it led you.
You earned those stripes.

I have only one piece of advice to add to all you have already received: SPELLCHECK is your friend.
Make sure your crews write good reports, so some asshole Lt. doesn't kick them back.

Congratulations! Well earned! Smile

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
