Anyone else appreciate the irony of an apparently militant anti-corporate fugitive being caught while patronizing one of the largest and most blatantly corporate fast food chains in the world?

I bet he owns the newest iPhone model too.

It looks a lot like it, but I’m seeing enough differences that I still think that’s a factory Glock frame. The P80 image results I’m finding have stipple sections that come up higher on the frame than the shooter’s gun, and they have actual 1913 rails instead of the Glock rail section. If anything, I think Trapper189 may be right.

Yes, and they said he also went to Starbucks while in NYC.

The recovered gun does seem to have that funny triangular panel just in front of the slide lock that I don’t see on regular Glock frames.

You do have a point (or three!) there... Wink

Everything I read is that he's from a wealthy family.
Got the best education through acquired wealth yet hates capitalism.
His leftist education definitely indoctrinated him.

I have no doubt he kept the gun to see just how far he could take this.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

To me, it looks like poly p80 with a reworked trigger guard and a retextured grip.

‘REAL ID’ has a star on it… Mandated by May of ‘25 for all identification for access to certain federal facilities, boarding Federally regulated commercial aircraft, and entering nuclear power plants.

That has been left out of the photos.

From Gizmodo. Again, we don't know how much of this early info is accurate. (italics mine)

During a search of the Defendant’s backpack, Officers located a black 3D-printed pistol and a black silencer. The pistol had a metal slide and a plastic handle with a metal threaded barrel. The pistol had one loaded Glock magazine with six nine-millimeter full metal jacket rounds. There was also one loose nine-millimeter hollow point round. The silencer was also 3D printed.

Doesn't keeping a gun while on the run that you used in a crime sort of defeat the purpose of it being a ghost gun?

Well, just because he was a valedictorian doesn't mean he wasn't dumb (particularly when it comes to getting away with a crime).

Also from that Gizmodo article is an x-ray apparently from a back surgery undergone by the suspect, suggesting a medical issue that may have triggered this chain of events. (I've personally known several people who went a bit crazy following back problems and/or surgery.)

quote:
Barstool reporter Jack Mac tweeted about having an unnamed source who told him that Mangione injured his back surfing but the surgery “didn’t go great,” claims Gizmodo could not independently verify. Mac also said his back surgery “changed everything and he went “absolutely crazy.”

Agree, some people are educated way beyond their capacity to mentally process the info they take in.
