That would be a dumb thing to get shot over. I always put my carts away, but I have more important things to worry about in life than keeping order in the parking lot of a multi-billion dollar corporation.

In today's social environment, where somebody's like as not to come at you just for feeling you looked at them "wrong," this seems particularly ill-advised.

Maybe it wasn’t the best move but it felt good confronting one of these lazy slugs who do this.

Maybe I shamed him enough so that he thinks about it next time, one can always dream.

This seems petty and very Karen-esque.

I used to be in the camp of "why sweat the small stuff" and that it wasn't worth the risk of altercation over something like this...

but my stance is changing... People should feel shame for doing shameful things, as that is how we help keep society decent... Not sweating the small stuff seems to be at least somewhat of a contributing factor to where we are now.

And to be clear, not returning a cart ISNT a huge shameful act, and in some cases I totally understand and am ok with not returning (a lone adult dealing with an infant, for example). But it is kinda shameful in the micro as it is just plain lazy and inconsiderate.

Being confrontational and putting stickers or magnets on other people's property (like the Cart Narc) is inappropriate as well.

Completely disagree with this sentiment... striving to uphold a basic degree of consideration and decency in our communities is very important and it starts with the small stuff.

Seeing this gets under my skin also but only the 1st layer. I just shake my head and go on or if possible, I just grab it and use it.

My Ford Bronco has handicapped tags on it.

Not for me, but for my wife, who is handicapped and can't walk very far without a walker or grocery cart to use as a walker.

So, I park in a handicapped spot and when people see me, I get a few strange looks, like hey, you're not handicapped although nobody has said anything.

Then they watch me return the cart to the proper spot and the look on their face changes.

But on the other side of the coin, I once got a short lecture from a supermarket checker because "I was making my poor wife push a heavy cart."

The wife very quickly said "I'm using it for a walker" and the checker suddenly looked like she was going to have a heart attack.

I agree that turning a blind eye is darn near the same as approval but you have to chose your battles. I’d suggest skipping calling out the Hells Angels handyman.

I certainly get frustrated with others however they’re not gonna change based on some cursing out by me.

The best thing you ever gonna do is just work on yourself. That’s the most productive, realistic and pragmatic advice I ever heard.

It just seems to me that in general, and especially since the pandemic, that society in general is getting more and more rude and starting to degenerate. People driving like assholes, driving up the shoulder, doing all sorts of dick moves while on the roads, this kind of stuff, the shopping centers, I’ve had enough of it.

I grab the carts that are abandoned in the handicap area, I know it’s hard for them to walk them to a corral.

But carts anywhere else, show that the people are lazy.
