Cool story bro. I put my cart back but getting aggravated to the point of confronting a stranger over their failure to do so is a bit much. Relax, going ballistic over this kind of stuff ain't good for you.

“Would you like to to take that back for you?” Would probably accomplish the same thing but without potential drama. ______________________________ DONT TREAD ON ME

As much as it pisses me off I don’t say anything to anyone. If I end up getting in a fight it’s damn sure not going to be a fight I instigated. I do have one exception to that though. I was at a Costco some years back and saw several carts wedged between a pole and the fire doors which would have made it impossible to open the doors in an emergency. I moved them and complained to management, then on my way out I saw someone doing it again. I did not hesitate to let them know that they were blocking a fire exit. They looked embarrassed but not enough so to return the cart. “Everybody wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock on the streets.” -bionic218 04-02-2014

Yep, I'm with both of you on this. Like I told the moron who opted to push his basket between my truck and the car next to me instead of taking it 20 feet to the adjacent cart corral..."Be very careful with that basket because if it even nicks my truck, I'm sending you to the hospital for a long stay." Though he bitched and moaned a bit, he reversed course and returned the cart to where it should have been. These people are just like children. If they aren't corrected and their behavior changed on the small stuff, they'll just continue down a path to making them an absolute drag to society as a whole. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. He is technically correct. He drove. So he parked. He didn't need to say "we" anything. Q

I dunno, I see both sides of it. Yes, it is rude, lazy, and not being a good citizen of the parking lot community to just leave a cart wherever. No, I don’t plan to confront anyone over it. What I tend to do instead as I am walking my cart either to the front of the store or cart corral, whichever is closer, if I see someone close to finished unloading, I’ll pause and ask if I can swipe their cart since I am going anyway. People seem to really appreciate it. Heck, who knows, one of them might either decide to “pay it forward” next time they shop, or at least return their own cart. It costs me but a moment, hasn’t ever pissed anyone off (yet), and might encourage the behavior I’d like to see.

So you’re really going to beat someone up over a flipping paint scratch? Hope to God it’s not someone meaner, harder, craftier than you. That kind of threat is going to get my attention in a hurry, and not in a good way. One is an accident/property damage. The other is assault. (Fwiw- I drive a car that cost $200,000 new. Scratching my paint is hardly even on my radar.) I feel that not returning a cart is just laziness, but I get over it. Now someone 1/2 my age(or less) that is 100% healthy and has a handicap card and parks in the handicap zone......I do have a problem with that. I have friends that NEED to park in those zones, and sometimes they are full.

I said I parked it and I took the cart back. I didn't say I was alone. My wife's handicap precludes her driving a car, so naturally I parked it and naturally I took the cart to the proper place because she uses it for a walker and it goes as follows: We walk out with her pushing the cart. We get to the car and get her seated in the passenger side. I take the cart to the back and load the groceries into the car. I then take the cart to the proper place, then I walk back to the car and drive off.
Yep, strictly because you decided to read between the lines about what I was actually saying and pronounce guilt.

And what is your opinion and reaction to seeing a 20-something driving a souped-up low-slung sports car pull into a handicapped parking space and then pop a disable driver placard onto the windshield? To this 70+ yoa military disabled vet who walks with a cane and who now has to park further from the door of the store, it surely frosts my nuts, but I just curse silently under my breath and hobble on. Just a friendly reminder……….. There are people out there who will choose to confront you and possibly end your life, worse if you’re family is there, their’s too. You are choosing to put yourself in a situation that has no measurable affect on your life.

Reminds me of my old neighborhood, inner city Italian at the time, guy yelled at somebody in parking lot, turns out was a bad, bad, guy. Beat the guy pretty much to an inch of his life, probably would've killed him hadn't cops showed up. Bad guy got pinched, nothing came of it, guy yelling, may have been told what might occur if he pushed it. Old neighborhood, some dangerous people, not worth the hospital stay or longer problems.

Sounds like senile agitation is starting to develop. Ask your doctor for some of those mood stabilizers. They work well!

I have a dent in my tailgate because someone couldn't be bothered to put the cart away and a gust of wind drove it into my truck. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

I try to let the small stuff go - it's a sign of maturity my father always told me. But this is just ridiculous. If I saw someone putting their cart there, I'd ask them with a soft tone, "Did you see the sign there? 'Fire Exit'? Did you notice the special yellow lines on the pavement? How about the bright red pole so that cars can't park too close? What more will it take for you to get the idea?"

Watched a lady give the dirtiest look to a guy that ditched his cart at the grocery store today. She took it back for him. Didn’t catch what she said as I was still in the truck That’s one of my pet peeves. I ALWAYS take it back to the door at at the least put it in the coral. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Live today as if it may be your last and learn today as if you will live forever
