Where you coming or going PASig when you confronted the cart ditcher? If you were coming, why didn't you volunteer to push the cart back for him? I've done that many times and the people have always been appreciative.

Yeah, you got me

I did curse the guy out then turned around and complained about society getting ruder.

Frown

From now on I’ll just stick to what I’d been doing and that’s grabbing a ditched cart on the way in and no confrontations.

That is the biggest crock and one of the most ignorant statements I have ever heard, you are not the first that has stated that so it is not all on you, I would assume you are repeating something you read. It is no test of character although it may affirm some propensity toward laziness. So, perhaps it is a test of but one characteristic of many. I know of nobody in their right mind that checks someone's character soles based on whether they put their shopping carts away.

I agree. The people that advise letting it go so as to not get shot or something are complicit and part of the problem. I will stand and die on this hill with PASig.

I can see your headstone now;

From this Earth I did part
All because of a shopping cart.

For everyone calling me a cart Nazi and a Karen, what do YOU do when you go to pull in the only open spot in the lot and there’s a ditched cart there?

Seems like some of you are a little sanctimonious about all this.

Roll Eyes

I’ll play it safe from now on and avoid confrontation though.

How about get out of the car and move the cart. I do it all the time. Not a BFD.

I'm right there with you, PASig!! I am sick and tired of others not giving a shit about their fellow man, the lack of basic consideration toward others, and not know the first damned thing about living a principled life.

BRAVO, sir!!!

I, personally, have changed my approach to Cart Ditchers.

This won't work for everyone, but if you look like me, an 85 year old guy hobbling around with a cane, it works pretty well.

When I see somebody abandoning a cart and starting to get into his / her vehicle, I use the friendliest tone of voice that I can, and smile at the person, while asking, "Would you like me to put that cart away for you, so that it won't scratch somebody's car?"

Amazing, how many people will look a bit embarrassed and put the cart in a corral.

Read the original post this morning and was thinking all day, “that certainly isn’t the hill I’m dying on”

Seems to be the common sentiment.

Why? You didn't get the validation you were hoping for here but seems like you did in the field. That guy may never leave another cart in the lot.

The correct method is to first sling your AR-15 over your shoulder and then start the conversation with the miscreant. You might get a higher percentage of cart returns this way! (Apply purple as needed).
