Local news link on Mi Supreme Court ruling against Whitmer.

https://www.clickondetroit.com...oronavirus-pandemic/

539,000 of the 340,000 required signatures on a petition to repeal the 1945 law she was using arrive in Lansing at 11am. This didn't include 1,300 signatures gathered by a small group using illegal methods (likely a plant to derail the effort) were set aside with his picture on the box. There were additional reports of people connected with Whitmer and AG Nessel were caught in illegal acts around petitions.

Hopefully this will force a legislative look into her "facts, data and science" before making any decisions. Could get interesting...

And of course everything that goes against what the Evil Queen wants is a Republican conspiracy, now it's the fault of the Republican led state Supreme Court.

The last line says it all: "I will never stop fighting to keep you and your families safe from this deadly virus".

People like her are convinced they know what's best for you, and if you don't agree then they'll just force it upon you. However the even bigger problem is around half this country buys into it. No one wants to take responsibility for anything anymore. And who can blame them when the government is more than willing to take over more and more of our lives.

Now she thinks it’s “American” to wear a mask.

She doesn’t know much about America, does she?

And the high number of increasing cases in the UP she mentions? What she did not say is that the increases are a result of the colleges re-opening and the fact that nearly all students are being tested. This is several thousand students. Kids in local public schools are being aggressively tested as well. Thus, a vast increase in cases. More tests = more cases. She also conveniently fails (and has since the beginning) how many tested are asymptomatic.
UP deaths = 37. If you choose to believe that figure. UP population is 66+K.
Major UP college enrollments:
MTU = 7K NMU = 7.7K LSSU = 2K Bay = 1.9K

I like the part where she says, "Furthermore, after 21 days, many of the responsive measures I have put in place to control the spread of the virus will continue under alternate sources of authority that were not at issue in today's ruling." Without listing thoses sources of authority, this entire sentence is a giant "Because I said so."

Really the entire statement follows the classic behavior pattern when a person is caught doing something they knew was wrong, with a twist at the end.

1. Deny you did it
2. Explain why what you swear you didn't do would have been ok to do if you had done it
3. Explain why whatever rule you didn't break ought not be a rule in the first place
4. Everybody else is doing it

And the twist:
5. Because I'm a Sovereign Ruler

Y'all need to go anyplace she is and shout "Wolverines!"

21 days my ass. She needs to read the opinion. Unlawful then and now. I view continued enforcement as grounds to remove.

^^^^^ Exactly

The lawyer that argued before the Michigan Supreme Court Witchmer had exceeded her authority was on one of the local shows this morning.

First of all: It was not a 4:3 decision. The decision that she'd exceeded her authority was unanimous. It was whether she'd violated Michigan's Constitution that was 4:3.

The "21 days" is bullshit.

And she has no higher authority to which to appeal. This is not a federal matter.

In the words of the lawyer "You can burn your mask now, if you haven't already."

That’s what that idiot Beshear has been doing. And it’s about time for the health department to learn that they are “the government” as it applies in federal civil rights suits.

Most of the county Sheriffs in northern Michigan have said they would not enforce Whitmers order. I would think they would feel the same way about this.

No surprise there. I assumed that would be her next move. IIRC, she signaled as much quite a while back.

She's not as smart as she thinks she is. Issues unpopular and questionable decrees that she doesn't apply to herself, gets slapped-down by the courts, then does an end-run around that to get her way.

How to become a one-term Governor and then on to lasting obscurity.

Whitney has basically given the middle finger to the Michigan Supreme Court. She's making it clear she is in charge regardless.

Unfortunately, if you listen to the podcast in this article it is all illegal. Worse for her is state law apparently states that willful violation makes an individual personally liable. So if a Commissioner or Dept. Director issues an order, it isn't followed, and a citizen is penalized (jailed, fined, etc) for violating it, that individual can be sued for damages... Personally.

And PansyAndy has extended the face diaper requirement for another 30 days for Kentucky.

“As If” no one couldn’t see that coming, as he’s been running-up the infection rate numbers on a daily basis.
